Anybody read Alex Garland's The Tesseract?

Alex Garland's second novel, after The Beach (soon to be a film starring Leo you-know-who), is set in the mean streets of Manila. I'm halfway through the book, has anybody read and finished it? Whaddayathink?

I loved his first novel. One of my frustrations in life kasi is to be a backpacker... adventure. I just hope the movie will be as good as the book.

I was impressed with The Beach so I decided to check out his second novel. I wonder... may Pinoy blood kaya itong si Alex Garland? Pinoy na pinoy yung The Tesseract eh... parang komiks. hehehe.

Kaya lang, mas gusto ko yung story ng "The Beach". Mas exciting. Di ko na nga tinapos yung Tesseract e.

I think you can consider him a pinoy, I think he lives most of the time here in the Philippines, somewhere in the province...

May pagka-Pulp Fiction ang narrative style. Haven't finished it pero I can tell you na parang pang readings ng HS ang 2nd story (yung kay Rosa). Fresh siguro ito sa mga foreigners pero sa atin medyo cliche na...

Just a question: what is a TESSERACT? Is it really a scientific term?

Just so you know, first time I heard about a tesseract was in Madeleine L'Engle's CHILDREN'S BOOK, "A Wrinkle In Time"...

Yup, it's a 4 dimensional cube.

I always thought it was an original term L'Engle made up.
