'Sukob' superstition: Academe's Point-of-View

Sukob is a wedding superstition. Two siblings must not be married within the same year otherwise one of them will be a victim of sukob and will suffer bad luck. According to my initial research, sukob's origin is from ancient Filipino practices. It is not brought by any foreign people. Is this true? I need sana an answer from anyone from the academe because my previous sources were from the psychic field.
