PC Magazine Philippines will host elimination rounds in selected schools around Metro Manila to look for the fastest PC builders. Winners from each venue will compete in the finals in SM Megamall Cyberzone to determine who will be the Philippines' Fastest Geek. A victory party at the SM Megamall Megastrip will be thrown in honor of the Philippines' Fastest Geek and the finalists! August 27, 2005: SM Megamall Cyberzone 10AM Onwards. All-night partying follows at SM Megastrip B.

Based on the title, for a second I actually pictured a bunch of geeks running across some track derby with bullies on their tails whipping them on their butts with rolled up wet towels. :p

tsk-tsk. that's the second time you talked about snapping wet towels at guys running naked. the first was in the "oblation run" thread.

I wonder how the contest is going to run assuming that everyone has the same set of items for the assembly?

Take out each item out of the box (except for the CPU) and lay them down onto a table. Install mobo in the case. Intall PSU in the case. Connect all necessary cables. Install RAM, CPU, HDD, soundcard, AGP, floppy drive, CD-ROM. Connect more necessary cables. Close the case. Plug in other cables such as monitor, mouse, power, etc. Boot up and run OS installation... ...and someone might eventually yell: "Anak ng... Nag-hang ang PC pagdating sa install ng Windows!" (be it Filipino, Chinese, Singaporean-lah, or any other tongue that would be "colorful").

Then someone would blurt out: "Pare! Bilis ng swearing!"
