If you're am Accounting grad, which would you prefer to take review classes and why?

How about other Centers?

None of the above. I don't like CPAR. Sorry.

I don't know anything about RESA. I didn't research anything about it.

I went to ACE. I passed. :) And, the rooms aren't crowded! Sitting on the last row at the back will actually let one see what the teacher wrote on the board plus what the teacher actually looks like (so, ndi ganon ka layo!) The CR's are relatively decent. The teachers are the best. One of the reviewers was my teacher back in college. I actually learned BLT and enjoyed it immensely. I didn't really attend classes most of the time because I was just too lazy to drag myself to Espana.
But, I went in for all the preboards and preweek. I read the usual books that "reviewees" read and studied their (ACE) review materials.

:)

Im currently a reviewee at CPAR. OK naman. CPAR is for those who are confident that they have actually learned something during their undergrad years, primarily because they are not like other review schools which are ZERO-BASED.

Plus... you get to know Atty. Conrado Valix... the Financial Accounting marvel that every Accountancy student knows... para siyang si Harry Potter of the Accounting world hehehe

...buhay pa ba ang PRTC and CRPD?

If I remember it right (some eons ago...ulk!):

CPAR - alaga nila taga UP
PRTC - alaga nila taga La Salle
CRPD - alaga nila from UE and PUP

...this could be true years back, I don't know now....

well, that young lady from UST who topped the CPA board last May, does anyone know which review center she attended?

it would also be interesting if someone could post the number of topnotchers and board passers from each review centers.

Do you guys know if these review centers have websites so that i can check? My nephew is reviewing in October and we need some guide. If you can post their websites it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

my two cents (based on friends' opinions):

CPAR if you want a strategic approach to the board exam (i.e. there are too many subjects, so which ones should you focus on, and which techniques you can use to ensure that you finish the exam on time, and still end up with the right answer).

RESA/CRC if you want a more thorough approach to accounting teaching (i.e. you're not sure your college gave you sufficient training about accounting fundamentals).

So, it all boils down to high highly you think of yourself. If you're confident, go to CPAR. They teach you to study smart. If you need a little more meat to your knowledge of accounting, go to RESA/CRC. They'll make you feel more confident by teaching you some things you didn't know you didn't know (I hope that made sense).

Topping the boards is a different matter altogether. There are too many factors (preparedness of the student, study habits, etc.) that go with it. In fact, I don't think where the student reviews actually matters in this respect.

mag-resa then cpar kaya ako?

watcha think guys?

AP and Tax, no comment.
