alam kong marunong kayo sa english kaya i ask for your help....
lets say, may iniinterview ako na tao tapos may binigay siya na information sa kin tapos sinabi nya na "but don't quote me on this"
ang ibig ba nya sabihin is hindi siya sigurado sa information na binigay nya sa akin
or
huwag ko sabihin na siya yung source ko?
siguro simple lang to para sa inyo but it need answers na sigurado talaga... pls help me... asap

it implies that the information is based on the inteviewees personal opinion lang..pwedeng based on facts. pwede rin naman an ayaw niyang i reveal mo na siya yung source kahit sigurado sya. depende kung anong information yan.
in other words, ayaw nyang ma associate sa information na yan.
you have to be careful when you use the info because you cannot substantiate the source.

possible na either hindi siya sigurado or the person simply doesn't want to put his/her credibility in danger.
if what the person said isn't really necessary or relevant, you may choose to omit that portion.

I think it means he/she would rather not let it be known that he/she has access to this kind of information, that he/she let someone else know about it, or both. Either way they ask for confidentiality and it should be given.
