In two years time, I will commence from college.
I wish to continue studying in a good college/university abroad, but studying abroad is just a pain in the pocket. I can't afford studying there.
Can anyone help me? Like scholarship or something?
I've been receiving application forms from some schools abroad, but everytime I look at their tuition fees, it appears that even if we sell all our assets, I won't be able to study.

If it's in the natural sciences or technical field, then there are scholarships or grants. If it's business or arts, it's very difficult to get any financial assistance.

i din know UP had an MBA program. :bashful:
OT: ever thought of joining the US army or the navy? they'll sponsor your advanced education.
you can also join the french foreign legion. they'll support your studies and guarantee french citizenship after 7 years. HOWEVER. life inside the legion entrange francaise is definitely not for soft yuppie-types.

Isn't joining the US Army or Navy only possible if you're a U.S. citizen?

What field are you coming from? You could try inquiring at NEDA, they've got lots of scholarships there. Alternatively you could try going into the government service, yes the pay sucks, but just as an example, in my office we've got more foreign scholarship offerings than qualified personnel to fill up. By unqualified I mean they no longer fit the age limit of below 35. Freeze-hiring kasi eh, its only lately na may limited hiring, so maswerte yung mga bagong pasok ngayon.

for japan and europe, punta ka sa mga embassies nila. spain daw maraming scholarships, mostly sa language. tingnan mo kung ano ang mga requirements nila.

Be one of the best in your field in the Philippines, then try to apply as a graduate assistant or teaching assistant while pursuing graduate studies in a foreign university. :D

apply for a scholarship, sana nga makapasa ka, alam mo namang walang kwenta ang mga schools sa Pinas, walang bearing, they always prefer graduates from the US, UK, Australia & Canada, sa Asia, from Japan at Singapore lang ang may laban

the japanese human resources development is offering a scholarship in japan. i saw the ad in the manila bullettin last sunday so if you happen to have a copy check it out they even have a website although i'm too stubborn to write it down just inquire at the embassy.

Ah JICE pala eh, Japan International Cooperation Center, part of JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency). Yan ang nakuhang kong scholarship (JICA). Yeah mostly scholars from the government sector kasi tied siya sa Overseas Development Assistance (ODA) projects ng JICA. Logic kasi dun eh babalik ka sa home country after the scholarship and apply what you have learned. Kaya nga sabi ko try niyo mag-public sector if you want to study abroad.

unfortunately it's not easy getting inside to work in the goverment even if you are civil service passer, you stiil need a backer inside and that's not gonna be easy. well you could do it the hard way train to be a police officer or be in the military outfit.

Unfortunately being in the military or police disqualifies you for a lot of international scholarships.
Well I don't remember making calls to anybody when I applied for my job. AFAIK I just showed them my resume, took the tests and interviews. Of course it helps if you have something in the resume that says "Board Topnotcher" as well as acing every exam they threw at you. *okay* :naughty:

yes being a board topnotcher really helps getting in a goverment agency it exempts you for taking a civil service exam . however in the case of bluethehero in two years time he says he will be finishing college by that time there's a lot of uncertainty about the goverment. not everybody gets to be a board topnotcher.

Professional Board Exams are actually equivalent to Professional Civil Service Exams (though not the reverse). Simply passing the Licensure Exam for your chosen profession means you already have Civil Service Eligibility (Professional Level).
Anyway bluethehero wants suggestions, I gave mine.
