can you suggest a good a photo editor software yet user friendly? some of the softwares being considered are digital image suite and ulead photo impact 10.

Well it definitely isn't Photoshop. I think Fireworks is more user friendly, but you should also look into Microsoft Acrylic Beta.

I recommend Arcsoft Photostudio 2000 SE...you'll get its functions in a day, at least in my case.

re Picasa. is it possible to put captions w/in the pics? will the captions be visible incase u have the pics developed?

yeah, Infranview is good for basic image editing.
