It's overhyped. You'll pay P3000 (TV Shopping price) for 2 Benzoyl Peroxide-based stuff (and a toner)? Er. Just go to your local Watsons Drug or Mercury Drugstore and get PanOxyl, Retin-A or Differin, all way cheaper than Proactiv.

this one worked for me... Panoxyl didn't...
yung oral drug na Roaccutane... this one really works pero mas costly sya coz I bought mine sa ibang bansa pa since 15mg lang pinakamataas dito.
Come to think of it... minsan iba-iba "hiyang" sa tao...

Can you really get prescription drugs in the Philippines without a doctor's prescription? Roaccutane, retin-a, and differin all require a prescription. Drug laws aren't really that strict in the Philippines, are they?
As for Proactiv, I tried that about 4-5 years ago. It didn't work then. I haven't tried it since.

to answer your question, yeah, for some reason the phiippines does not really regulate the flow of medicine... thats what i miss! here sa US, for every little thing, you need to get a prescription! not only is it expensive (especially if you do not have insurance) but its inconvenient sometimes coz you alreaddy know what drug you need but you have to go to a doc first!
two months ago i had an eye infection, hello, i had to get a prescription just to get medicine like teramycin!
but going back to proactiv---hmmm... face stuff really is tricky... it doesnt matter if the product is expensive or not so expensive-- hiyang hiyang lang naman yan.. like for me, i love the godiva skincare line.
sorry mejo naging off topic post ko..

Hi. Magkano na Proactiv ngayon sa local market?
And also, dun sa mga nakagamit na, gaano katagal makikita yung result (from 1st day of application).
Thanks!

I think they have a trial pack that is less than 2k... Then again you can always try something that is less expensive, and at the same time, nagwowork:naughty:

I used to have a zit farm on my chin. After I used ProActiv, my zits are gone. I am so glad I used it. The only thing is you need to maintain it. I skipped using the repairing lotion one weekend while out of town, and after a couple of days I had a humungous zit on my chin.

There's another version of this and it's called Klear Activ and I think they cost the same. I am actually enticed to buy this product because Panoxyl won't work for me. Isang tube na yata nalagay ko na Panoxyl, wala ako nakikitang significant change.

didn't work for me. i think it only works on non-inflammatory acne. i had the inflammatory kind. roaccutane can only be bought with the prescription AND a waiver. that worked for me. there's an equally potent but but with less side effects brand of isotretinoin called acnetrex which my doctor prescribed to me. i get this from him directly.

I have tried most of what you guys talked about, Proactiv was the only one that worked for me. Hiyangan lang yan. Some people don't get results with Proactiv. Tried Retin-A, Differin, Eskinol and other dermatologist-prescribed treatments. Never worked for me. I buy mine from the States (someone brings them over) kasi mura P2000 lang for 2 months use (not bad at all!)
Another good one is Murad Acne Complex Kit(almost same price as Proactive if you buy it here in Manila)
Again, what works for others might not work for you. You just have to try and find which one works for you :)

mariobadescu line & kiehl's are better onmy skin.
i just want to plug it. i don't have a slight inclination on using proactiv as i don't suffer from breakouts.

That's really odd. I have been using Proactiv for 2 years now and my skin has never been better. Proactiv is the only product that worked for my skin. I would sometimes get a small pimple now and then but generally I have had great results. I have tried all kinds as well. I have several friends who use it and works for them too.
I think this goes to show that a certain brand does not work for all. Proactiv worked really well for me and my friends but some people don't get positive results. BTW, when I first started Proactiv, it took 2 months before my skin really cleared up! I'm happy with my results.
Note: Proactiv does not work with people who has a skin condition called Rosacea (which people mistake for ordinary pimples but should be treated by a dermatologist)
