Le Ching. Fake (and pangit-tasting) Chinese food, dirty surroundings, and indifferent waiters.

Henry's Freestyle Cooking Studio.
The food was too expensive for the salty cooking, non-existent service (walang waiter, tagal dumating food), uncomfortable barseats and tables. The "exotic" location doesn't help either (I felt I might get mugged any minute).

Stone Grill has great-tasting food and large servings, but I'm loathe to go back because of the terrible service. Ang angas ng waitress na nag-serve sa amin! My friends and I talked to the manager about it, and by the end of our meal, *nagpapasa-pasahan na sila ng utos* - and Pinky (our official waitress) was avoiding our table like the plague. Sheesh!

Is S.R. Thai still in Katipunan? A baby cockroach decided to take a little park walk on our tabletop. Our mouth was just hanging as it scuttled along. Never ate there again.
Another friend had another horror story about them. He was drinking a glass of coke when he saw a cockroack leg swimming in it. And he was halfway through the drink! Ack!

Mavi: Your friend should have exercised his right. I have a friend who ate at Shakey's (I just forgot the branch). She wondered why there was such a crunch when she ate that portion with pepperoni (that's her favorite), so she took a look at it. Guess what she saw? The other half of a cockroach's body! The other half was the one in her mouth. She vomitted that instant and held on to that slice of pizza. Then the manager was offering her P10,000.00 just to keep quiet. But she was aware of her right. So she refused his offer and left. She first filed a police report and then filed a case against them. The case took almost a year to end. She won and got 4 million pesos for the damage Shakey's had done!

you would never catch me eating at STONE GRILL again! their idea about the cooking ur food in front of u on that stone thingy was indeed very creative, but i don't think it did a lot for the taste! ugh meat turned really tough and seafood turned super rubbery.
as we were eating, a cockroach seems to keep on wanting to join us at our table. we told some waiters about it, and all most of them did was snicker. eventually, my friend had to take care of the thing himself. how bad can the service still get?!
afterwards, at the washroom of the same restaurant, i was washing my hands when i noticed a small blackish featherly like stuff at the bottom of the wash basin. didn't recognize what it was, not until i took a closer look at it. it was a dead baby rat! shoot i almost ran over it, co'z i got really surprised and scared. told the personnel outside about it. know what she did? went inside the washroom, and with her foot, just put aside the rodent, probably co'z that's where less people could see it.
now with the said experiences all in one night, who would want to go back there? DEFINITELY not moi = )
***Lush, yeah i agree with u about the really long waiting time and the waiters avoiding ur table like the plague. double SHEESH huh...

Come on, we eat in Aysee, right? My mom saw something there, pero oh well... Walang restaurant na perfect. My friend ate in Saisaki once, and there was a cockroach in her glass of coke. That's Saisaki na ha.
I will never eat in Sweet Inspi again. Sorry to those who love this place. Four bad incidents. Twice, the food they served was kinda raw. I forget the second one, but the first one was chicken ala kiev. The chicken was raw. Twice, there was a crawling cockroach on the mongolian table. So, never again.

mav: my friend had a similar experience. That's why I'm not eating there anymore (katapat pa naman siya ng place ko). SR is still one of the favorite places of studes here in katipunan.
Katkat: thanks for the info. baka magamit namin yan if ever those kind of things happen. (kakain na lang ako sa shakeys para maging milyonaryo...lol)

How about staple wires in your food? When Painted Parrot was still at the back of my school, my friends and I were having dinner and one almost swallowed a staple wire. She was chewing her food and something hard was poking her gums.. Voila! We told the owner and she just asked "So where's the stapler?" Never again...
Baka kaya lumipat ng location...?

Naalala ko tuloy...
When I once ate at Carl's Jr. in Greenhills (back in 1995) I ordered a cheeseburger. When I bit into it, there was no cheese (pala), even if it was wrapped in the cheeseburger wrapper, so they replaced it. Later, I was chatting away and was about to take the last bite of my cheeseburger - wondering whether to chomp on it or take it out of the wrapper and put it in my mouth. It was then that I noticed that there was a BIG BLACK CURLY HAIR sticking out from the burger! I showed it to my friends and they were pretty disgusted (shempre, sa'n ba nanggagaling yung ganung klaseng buhok?). I showed it to the manager and she offered to replace the burger, but nothing more. Oh well.
Two mishaps in one sitting! :P
Zen

Curly as they come?! :D
LOL
speaking of s.r. thai, it happened to me once also, i found long long strand of hair (at least it wasnt short and kinky!) in my dish. the thing was i was halfway done. after i complained, they gae me a new plate as in bagong luto. so i guess OK lang!
obvious bang nasusuhulan sa pagkain?
cara: last time i ate at sweet inspirations...same thing! roaches on the mongolian table!
how come no one complains about aysee? part of the ambiance ba?

kamats: sarado na? bakit kaya? o well, siguro twice pa lang ako nakakain dun... i didn't like the place mashadong crowded and i don't like the smell... but masarap yung lasagna..
as for me, pinakanainis akong service was when we ate at this restaurant in hong kong, forgot the name.. ( as if naman lagi akong nagpupunta dun) anyways, the pecking duck was really yummy but the chinese waiters were just so rude ( no offense to chinese ppl) iitsa na lang yung plates and nagkatapon tapon na yung mga laman s abaso walang pakialam... they were all in a rush kasi the place was really crowded but heck! we deserve good service...

I remember Marco Polo along Shaw blvd I think. This happened ages ago and I think wala na sila ngayon. There were roaches all over the place at mukhang madumi talaga. They used to be pretty popular.
I was with Lush during her Stone Grill expedition and I certainly "stone-grilled" the manager. Hahaha.
Another experience happened a year or two ago at TGIFridays El Pueblo. I was almost finished with my Cajun Angels when I noticed a fly on my plate. Kadiri! I called the attention of the waiter and the manager talked to us. He gave us free desserts and a card for a free appetizer for my next visit. I went back to claim my free appetizer. hehehe.

LadyMarmalade: Grabe naman yung experience mo sa Stone Grill! And I thought it was only the service that was bad. We ordered pasta and chicken fingers, so we never really got to experience the food being grilled on the stone. I didn't go to the CR, so I wouldn't know about the creatures lurking in the shadows (pero tanong mo si MsEerie... hehehe).
Wala nang Carl's Jr. diba? Pero balita ko magbubukas ulit.
MsEerie: Maybe we should complain through e-mail! (stonegrillphils@hotmail.com) ;)
Actually I have more asar experiences with Stone Grill from that same night. I ordered the linguini with roast garlic and parmesan cheese sauce, and they asked me if I wanted that with chicken or shrimp. I specifically said shrimp to the male waiter who we ordered from. MsEerie ordered Arrabiatta. Later, when a male waiter served our food to us, he called MsEerie pasta a different name. Pinky (our official waitress kuno) jumped in, and said "Ay hinde, hinde. Arrabiatta talaga yan." When I looked at my food, I noticed that what was on the linguini was chicken, so I informed her that I had ordered linguini with shrimp. She insisted that the waiter had said I ordered it with chicken, and I said, "No, I specifically said shrimp. I would like to have my linguini with shrimp, please." She replied, "Ito na lang ho. Hindi na ho kasi pwede paltan kasi naluto na eh." Sino bang hindi maiinis dun?! We're paying customers, GEDDEMMEET! >;:\
So I exclaimed, "It's the waiter's mistake NOT mine, I ordered it with SHRIMP! I do NOT want to have to eat chicken and settle for something I didn't ask for!" (Oo, in English pa talaga! :D) So, Pinky took back the linguini. It came back five minutes later, with shrimp on it. It was only when I had eaten a few forkfuls and was poking around at the noodles while talking to my friends that I noticed that there were bits of chicken there. :o What if I were allergic to chicken, huh?!
*grumble*

i heard this story about this girl who complained about her food (i don't remember the name of the resto sorry) to the waiter. she was so *****y about it, the waiter got really pissed off. in retribution for the *****y attitude, the waiter went back to the kitchen and jacked off on the fruit salad that the girl ordered. so ppl, correct yung advice ng mga ppl here...don't eat the food they serve u after u've *****ed a lot...u never know *** ur gonna get

Oh sh**! Buti na lang hindi na ako kumakain sa SR Thai! Horror stories talaga!
My friend told me an experience sa Sbarro. While they were eating, a big rat decided to take a walk around the place. Needless to say, they evacuated the place at once.

They did this interview with waiters in one of ABS-CBN's Assignment (Teddy Locsin). Similar topic: Paano kayo gumaganti sa mga taong bastos sa inyo sa restaurant? Some of the answers: Iniihian ang beer, dinuduraan ang pansit, nilalagyan ng dumi, etc. I was practically gagging the whole time: Buti na lang mabait ako sa waiter palagi, hehe.
Moral of the story: These people are working at measly jobs for a few pesos an hour, serving food that they most probably can't afford to eat themselves. Don't be rude to them. You're only adding fuel to fire and giving them enough resentment para gumanti sa iyo.

i believe ira's right - mahirap talaga ang work ng mga waiters and waitresses only to be paid so measly. siyempre, asar din naman sila sa mga customers na medyo low na nga ang job nila eh lalo pang pinabababa... i guess pag maganda naman ang approach sa kanila ng customers, they would respond with the same tact and respect din!

LOL Yoshi.
Something like that also happened to my dad's friend when they were at Tia Maria's in Katipunan. Tia Maria's still had the dark ambiance going for them. One night, my dad's friend was kidding around with the waiter, who eventually got pissed because the friend kept picking on him. Their food came, nothing fishy.. yet. When the friend was finishing his coffee, he saw that he had been drinking with a cockroach at the bottom of the cup. :P

I say this tv show a while back that interviewed waiters who got back at rude customers. One was even from a 5 star hotel restaurant! Generally, they're nice, but when hotshot actresses ***** at them, they get back with disgusting meanness! He admitted to have mixed the juice of this supposedly big name actress with his thingy.
So diners beware! Be a little tactful about your complaints.
But here's another one about Shakey's: I found hair in my pizza and pointed it out to the waiter. He was nice enough about it and returned the pizza to their counter. Akala ko they were going to replace it but to my utter disgust, the other girl just picked out the hair! I told them to just cancel the order.

My contribution is Inka Cafe in QC.
Sobrang bagal ng service. Halos isang oras ako naghintay. Di ko pa trip ang mga librong naandoon.

The lasagna was OK, but the food wasn't really special. You can order the same food elsewhere. The service wasn't the best either. Refills for a drink would take eternity, and the food took forever too. Yung mga scenarios na "kinakatay pa lang yata yung baka" etc. Though I think it is a big plus for them that they're beside Starbucks. ;)

I ate at Herc's once, and because of the publicity I was expecting it to be at least at par with Don Henrico's (which isn't exactly my favorite resto, btw). I ordered salad, pasta and something else (I forgot what) ...the food was spectacularly bland and unoriginal, the pasta was soggy and swimming in sauce. All in all, bad food, bad service, and not worth half of what I paid for.

Does that mean that if a waiter screws up and you point out that mistake, you're dead? Kasi, who knows how they'll interpret your complaint? (Especially if they've had a bad day!)
After we complained at Stone Grill, we didn't order anything else or ask for any modifications in our food since we kept in mind that they might do something to it.

i think if u see something un-OK with the food or service in a restaurant, u tell someone from the place kase if not, they won't know that something's wrong with them and they might continue with the bad service and food
complain ka pero with a smile nga and a soft voice as what Ira said...wouldn't hurt to do so naman eh

di actually resto pero sinubukan ko kahapon sa west lake dimsum bar sa food choices glorietta4. should have ordered dimsum but i was really hungry so i tried the fried rice. nang makaupo na ko, pansin ko amoy basang diyaryo. may amag pala yung box. sama ng loob ko, 65php din yon. my boyfriend had the wanton noodles and he said it was like eating rubber bands. he gave me some and i may have been just really paranoid, pero kita ko kasi parang may grains don sa noodles at napag-isip tuloy ako na baka may amag din. di na tuloy kami nakakain. decided not to complain kasi mag-isa lang yung girl don at mukhang harassed na rin siya sa orders, pagluluto, etc. kaso bad trip pa rin talaga.

I'm a Big Breakfast Fan. And its almost exactly the same from branch to branch - which is how I like it. Pero sa Shaw Branch, yung Big Breakfast na inorder ko pag bukas ko super greasy. Ok lang sana. Ako po naman....
We usually eat at Country Waffles in Makati and the service was good. In fact, the service AND food was SOOOO GOOD that I recommended the place to my brother. So, we went to Country Waffles in Anapolis and the food was good!
BUT what ruined the whole lunch was this glass of water that was full of suds or sebo or whatever AND IT WAS NOT FIT for drinking.
We were in such a good mood that day that we didn't want one tiny detail spoil our lunch. We told the waiter about this but WE DIDN'T ALLOW HIM TO TAKE THE GLASS. IT WAS ON THE TABLE THE WHOLE TIME WE WERE EATING.
(TIP: IF THESE THINGS HAPPEN TO YOU, DON'T LET THE RESTAURANT PERSONNEL TAKE IT. THEY WILL THROW IT AWAY IMMEDIATELY SO THAT YOU WILL NOT HAVE EVIDENCE TO BACK UP YOUR COMPLAINT!! HOLD ON TO YOUR PROOF)
As we were about to pay, we confronted the co-manager of the place (who was circling our table like a vulture waiting for the kill...he also looked at us funny from the time we set foot in the resto) AND HE JUST SAID SORRY. WE WERE IN A GOOD MOOD SO WHAT WE DID WAS JUST PAY UP AND THINK THAT AT LEAST WE GOT THEIR ATTENTION.

Just ate at Don Henrico's (Tomas Morato) yesterday.
Di pa gaano courteous yun mga waiters nila.

My boyfriend and I were about to dine at Max's megamall... to make the story short our orders came and we were starting to eat when suddenly my boyfriend stopped and somewhat looked around for somebody when I asked what was wrong, he was hesitant to show me what he found out in his plate. At first, I thought it was nothing kadiri, but when he turned his plate around to show me, I saw a worm sticking out from his cup of rice!!! Sobrang nakakadiri talaga to think na muntik na sya makain ng boyfriend ko! So we called the attention of the waiter, then came the manager who hurriedly took the plate and said that they would just replace it.
My bf, knowing his right, refused to just settle the issue with another " clean" plate so the manager offered to just make our meals for free... well, after a while we thought what the heck the rice we're eating came from the same place where that worm has been hiding!!!! I didn't want to make a scene in there so I pursuaded my bf to leave it be. The lesson I learned, we should have confronted the management about it, hindi naman pwede ganon na lang palagi diba? And besides, if we win the case we'd be rich & famous!!! :evil_lol:

it has to be aresi in qc. went there on a sunday and we were surprised to find that the place was kinda full. the pasta was bad and the service was worse. it was hard to call the attention of the waiters who were stationed near the bar, chatting the night away. every step of the way, we had to follow up on our orders. at one point, the waiter even brought along the wrong dessert (we asked for a blueberry cheesecake and some other dessert came along instead). toward the end of the dinner, a waiter apologized to us saying that they all had their hands full with the other customers. he even had the audacity to ask us to fill up the comment/suggestion form. a friend who works at the nearby tv network then answered all the questions about food and service in the negative. in the final question that says, will u come back for another visit, she wrote NEVER. so it's all media hype then about aresi being good and all.

Bistro Amore, the restaurant in Seven Suites hotel in antipolo (owned by the Cravings group). It's awful!
The buffet is affordable, but they have the most horrible food I have ever eaten. For P275, you get pasta (that's dried out), 2 sauces (tomatoe or white, both bland), several toppings to choose from, one worse than the other. For P325, they throw in fondue with meat, seafood, fruits, etc (but they're all not fresh). You can get pizza but it tastes like leftover pizza (it most probably was, since they simply reheat per slice that you order). the dessert is tiramisu (frozen! it tasted like shaved ice -- and to think cravings is known for cakes). We felt terrible after the meal, it was complete waste of our money!
Stay away from the hotel altogether. It's more like a motel trying hard to be a cozy hotel (which it isn't). Awful awful awful!
Never ever go there (it's along the street where Grilla is in antipolo).

I hate to say this but I didn't really like the food at Burgoo . The taste was plain and better pa ang taste in other restaurants. I felt like the money I paid wasn't worth the food I ate.
I'd recommend Fazoli's (I'm not sure about the spelling) though! It's this great restaurant in Libis. Great food at an affordable price! Great service as well! Every waiter/tress is greeting you! :D

French Baker along the bridgeway in Megamall! They made me wait for my food. I followed-up my order from the waiter twice and he just nodded at me....finally when he brought over my food, all my companions were finished eating....I was so pissed of that I just told him to wrap it and that I'd take it out. I even asked him nicely as in "Boss pwede ba ipa-take out na lang..." (I tried to be nice to him despite...coz of the posts I've been reading here, i tried to understand his situation). But I got all the more pissed when he told me "lagay mo muna diyan babalikan ko" Duh! What the? I lost my cool and told him "Ano? Tagal mo ako pinag-antay tapos antay nanaman ako ngayon?"
I stood up and just proceeded to the counter and had it wrapped there myself....he didn't even bother to apoligize! Wala lang sa kanya! I didn't want to talk to the manager anymore at this time....what for?
I swear, I'll never eat there again!

The Kitchen sa Megamall - when we were there, ang sama ng service, this happened i think last year pa.
20 minutes after a waiter had taken our orders, they tell us hindi daw available yung dalawang items na in-order namin! after 20 minutes!!
since we were so hungry, because that was around 1pm na, we replaced our orders. we waited again. :fume: after another 20 minutes wala pa rin yung food, we made follow up with the waiter and guess what? he started asking what our orders were and when he went to the counter, there was a commotion. apparently, the kitchen was not able to take our replacement orders!!! :furious:
we were really pissed off, we decided to cancel the orders altogether. :grrr: we asked for the bill for the drinks that we ordered and already served to us.
and guess again - we were made to wait for the bill!! :galit: and when we were already making a scene with one waiter :argue: :fight:, another waiter brought us something - and it was not the bill - it was the change of another customer for a paid bill!!
at this point, we decided to walk out!!! :ferocious:

i once ate with my wife, (before we were married) at Shakey's SM Centerpoint.
We were down to our last 4 slices (or was it three) when we noticed a garlic like substance on our pizza, (it was toasted), turns out the !@##!@$ thing was a cockroach on its back!
argghh, the horror.
we told a waiter about it. and guess what his reply was, "gusto nyo bang palitan pati ang ibang slice?" what the !@##$ did he mean by that. the entire pizza was obviously contaminated by the roach. ugghh. i didn't call the manager, and they should thank me for not suing them for damages, but i was sorry for the waiter, he looked like a part time student working for his allowance, so we just walked out of the diner and i promised myself NEVER to eat, take out, ask for delivery on ALL shakey's outlets again.

Kenny Roger's in Park Square, Makati.
My brother had dinner there a couple of months back. He was the only one to have dessert -- he tried their chocolate mousse. A couple of hours after they ate he began to feel awful; his stomach started to hurt. His friends had to rush him to the house because the pain got so bad he had trouble standing. Needless to say, that damn mousse gave him food poisoning. My folks spent the rest of the night and early morning at a 24-hour emergency clinic near the house, watching over him. To our relief he was fine in a couple of days.
Thing was, any case against them would just die out because we couldn't prove anything -- it was our word against theirs and no hard evidence to back up our claim, and we knew that. My mom just ended up having a word with the managers, and we made sure to tell all our friends about this. (We forgot to tell the newspapers though.)
I'll never eat there again, and never should any of you! Spread the word!

Country Waflle Libis -- ate there with around 10 friends, waited for 30 minutes to get a table, though we could see that there were empty tables on the second floor where they have bands play at night. I suppose they did not want to fill up with the "band" location with diners, and kids (we were w/ our kids).
They seated us anyway, and we ordered plenty. We waited for an hour before the food came, and kulang kulang pa. We had 3 people with us who waited for another 30 minutes.
Worse, we ordered some dishes (steaks, etc.) that came with salad and soup, none came. Uggh...

kulang sobra ang waiters/waitresses nila... they should know na madaming kumakain sa kanila, especially on Sundays! the one who was attending and serving (take note: as in serving, meaning sya ang nagdadala ng food samin) eh yung receptionist nila... thats not her job at all! at ewan ko ba, mukhang pinabayaan na talaga ng waiters/waitresses na sya na ang mag-serve sa amin... as in, nde ko na halos nakita anino nila!

and then our orders came...kulang kulang pa!
then another hero sandwich came...mali mali sila...dapat alam nila kng anong dumadating sa mesa ng mga customers eh! di yung nagkakagulo sila dun! then wala pa rin yng mojos...follow-up ulit kami!
hanggang sa natapos na ako kumain wala pa rin...we decided to get the bill....nung bill na...kasama yng mojos (i expected it) shmpre...sinabi namin na di naman bumalik yng mojo na pinadagdagan ng sauce so dapat i minus yon di ba
so binalik yng bill....sobrang tagal!! kelangan p namin i follow-up for three times then nung dumatng yng bill....mali pa rin!!!

BK in masangkay, :flog: i ate breakfast with my friend one sunday and there were only 2 counters open, the lines were so long and the crew were very very mabagal kumilos, believe it or not it took us 30 min to have our orders taken. Then after a while, another friend arrive , it also took him 30 min sa counter.
ICEBERG in wilson, :grrr: we were 4 and the waiter seated us sa table na sobrang liit, (table for 2 only), we requested to be transfered to a bigger table, it took us abt 20 -30 min. then it took them soooo long to take our orders, minutes after the orders arrive , we ask for water, we have to ask 3 waiters for the water and finally water arrive. Then it's time to pay, AGAIN , we have to ask lots of waiters for the bill, when it arrive , mali , hindi sa amin , it happened 2 times. The last bill came and it was our bill, the waiter didn't bother to put the bill inside a folder, he just handed the tape receipt to my friend. ang bastos talaga. we gave them exact payment up to the last cent sensing if we wait for the change baka pasko na , hindi pa dumating. Unknown to me and my boyfriend the waiter ask 50cents from our friend, eh kami ang nanlibre at that time , and i'm 100 percent sure i gave them the exact amount . nakakahiya tuloy sa kanila. me and my boyfriend went back at pinagsabihan sila. > Subject: worms for early dinner
Last Saturday, February 2, 2002 my wife and I decided to have early dinner in MANGAN, Glorietta Makati. The inihaw na ulo ng salmon is our personal favorite:) yummy isn't it. We had a chance to taste this delicacy in Mangan Robinson's Ermita branch. We only had burgers and fries for lunch that day, and though it was only around 4:15 pm, we decided to eat already since my wife's already hungry.
And so we ordered talong with binurong isda, binagoongan, plain rice and 2 drinks and of course the sumptuous ulo ng salmon. After waiting for almost half an hour (We were quite conscious of the time since we wanted to catch the 5pm mass in glorietta ground floor level) the dishes finally arrived. CHOW TIME!
After a few minutes, my wife noticed the talong with binurong isda filled with worms. I checked. CONFIRMED. WORMS indeed. I immediately waived at one of the waiters and just hushed at him to kindly replace the said dish. We were already halfway finished with the talong and only God knows how may worms we've munched. Hassle isn't it?! But still we were able to control our emotions and our APPETITE that we just continued eating. My wife was really hungry. My wife again checked the binagoongan since it was also egg plant based. AGAIN WORMS. WORMS,WORMS, WORMS.
This time I was really fuming mad and totally lost my appetite. But still was able to control my emotions. I signalled one of the waiters to call the store managers attention. No I didn't shout or do anything that would get the other customers attention (well, probably those seated near us but not majority of them), and just said to CHIE BASCO (the designated store supervisor that time) that "Bakit ganito?! Pwede ko kayong idemanda alam nyo ba yon?! Ever so respectful. Chie said sorry sir...Hindi na lang namin kayo icha-charge for the dishes na hindi nyo nagustuhan. I replied NO. HINDI KO BABAYARAN ANG KINAIN NAMIN DITO. She said "fine sir...We're really very sorry. There were really worms found in the eggplants and our kitchen supervisor didn't notice it."
Then we left!
After a few steps away from Mangan...I decided to come back. I thought that every Filipino who works so hard just to get good food served on their tables doesn't deserve this. I approached Chie and asked her to write down the names and contact numbers of the owners of Mangan so I can properly address my deep concern. She then told me that she can only give me the names but it was not allowed for her to give contact
information of the owners. Even their e-mail addresses? I replied. No sir we really can't, she told me. And then she asked, can I get your full name sir? What?! What for?! Was my reply (I just sort of returned the favor!). But she again asked. I said JUANCHO, then turned away. She followed me and continued asking but she never got the reply she's looking for.
So now I'm calling on Maritel Nievera et. al, the Incorporators of Mangan. Ladies and Gentlemen, distinguished owners of MANGAN restaurant, where paintings of Cory Aquino, Dolphy, Nora Aunor, etc. are hanged on the walls, what would you have done if this WORM-MUNCHING experience happened to you? What would have been your reactions?! I personally wanted to ask you this question just to clear things out but your CHIE BASCO did not give me a chance. Can you just enlighten me on this concern?
And now to all Filipino citizens to whom this e-mail may be sent I ask a simple question. Yes we sometimes drink tequila with a tiny little worm found at the bottom of the bottle but to eat binagoongan or talong with WORMS?! Sorry, but I'm sure I did not order those for early dinner. Please be a friend a send this to all you know. Let us, my wife and I, be the last Filipinos to ever experience this mishap. Thanks and good day!

Once I grabbed a bite at JOLLIBEE-UE Recto together with my friend. We ordered Spaghetti and burgers. 'Twas around 9am and there isn't that much people around considering it was a Sunday.
When I had our my bite on my burger, I didn't "tasted" the patty. So I took another bite. Still no patty. Then i opened my Burger.
WALANG PATTY.
My friend opened his burger and there was also no patty. Then we complained.
We had our burgers replaced......
and what the heck!!!!!
THEY REPLACED IT WITH BURGERS WITH NO PATTIES!!!!!!!!
and the rest was history.......

YAKU @ the Podium
waiters have absolutely NO training whatsoever (saying they have POOR training is putting it mildly). nung sunday, my mom & i noticed that there really were no seats available yet, so we asked the 2 waiters politely (we went inside pa, wala man lang receptionist sa labas or sa entrance) if there was any vacant table (for 2) available (or heck, any vacant seat).
ang sagot ba naman: 'puno lahat eh, reserved yan isa.' sabay talikod. aba bastos!
HELLO?!?! :P
hindi man lang sinabi, we'll try to check if there's any available seat, or WE'RE SORRY there are no available seats yet, would you like to wait? here's the menu... or WHATEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ni ha ni ho wala?!?! at least man lang may sorry noh!
kanino ba yang yaku na yan? is that the same yaku as the one near pearl drive, diba sa trillos yan?
food establishments should prioritize good customer service , aside from the consistency and quality of the food they serve.
YAKU waiters (and management too!), take a hint from Gaita Fores' Cibo. their waiters have impeccable manners. well trained, well groomed.

When did you last eat at Manila Hotel? Check out their buffets now. The Chinese food is really awesome. I heard they got this Hongkong chef with a salary of PhP200,000 a month. Try their chili crabs and sweet and sour lapu-lapu (the ones at lunch and dinner buffet). And their banquet meals have improved a lot too..The weddings I attended had very big portions and the guests were filled to the brim, and it was good too.

Nappa Bistro in Eastwood City
The place may have a nice ambience and all but the service is lousy!
I was having a hard time choosing from the menu but I finally decided to order their chicken ravioli. Me & my relatives ordered at the same time. Their food arrived 30 minutes later, mine was still nowhere in sight. I waited and waited, kept on following up my order, still my order didn't arrive. Another 30 minutes had passed and a waiter approached me, he said that the CHICKEN RAVIOLI WASN'T AVAILABLE IN THE MENU AT THE MOMENT!
Sheeeeeessshh! We called for the manager immediately and they said that he wasn't around! Are they for real??!
So this assistant of some sort asked if I wanted another item on the menu. Hello? I was starving to death and I have have to wait another 30 minutes? No way!!!
My mom & I quickly made an exit and went to West Lake to have a nice bowl of Wanton Noodle Soup.

Oody's - Greenbelt 3. For a restaurant that serves noodles primarily, the broth must be hot or warm enough. When my friends and I went there, the broth of the noodles they serves were way too cold to be appreciated. The broth was already greasy! Yet, they had the gall to charge so much beyond what they gave in return.
Segafredo Zenetti - Greenbelt 3. I tried out their pizza the last time. Same thing as in Oody's - the pizza was already cold when it reached my table. Considering also that there were only a few customers at that time (3:00 pm on a weekday), the service was way tooooo slow. As in it took the waitress about 30 minutes to get our order, another 30 minutes to bring in the order (how long does it take to create and bake a pizza), and another 20 excruciating minutes to deliver the bill. I was sorely disappointed because I read good reviews about Segafredo.

Every dang Chinese resteraunt adjacent to Michigan State University. Not one of them can make a decent eggdrop soup. Some are so thing it's like chicken broth. Some have peas and corn in it! Also, I'm having a hard time finding MuShu Pork and those thick eggrolls (they all serve spring rolls.) I've resigned myself to the other local shops around here. To end on a more postive note, at least the Chinese resteraunts can make decent white rice... something the dorm cafeterias are unable to do.

Macau Restaurant...well, the food was not bad, but the service was incredibly lousy. It took forever for the food to come, and they sent us food we never ordered...what we had ordered didn't come at first. But the waiter looked like Jericho Rosales.
Tapas...erm, tapas are supposed to be small servings. :p
Country Waffles...so damn expensive, and the food's not great. I'd prefer Pancake House any day. Moral lesson: When you put up a restaurant, the sure way to make a profit is to serve at least DECENT food. I'm sure people wouldn't mind paying as much as that, if only the food was actually nice.

In my brief dining experience:
* OODY'S in GB3 -- antagal dumating ng food namin. at nung dumating nga and ate it, i was like: "Was it me or was the dish I ordered TOO SALTY?" I went there twice, and I got the same slow, lousy service. maybe if I told the receptionist na food critic ako, baka mangarag pa sila?
* MASA'S also in GB3 -- andami nilang customers, and yet 3 lang ang staff nila? I ordered inihaw na liempo. it's too tough.

I wouldn't eat at Chicken Bacolod Inasal in Cyber Mall, Eastwood ever again!!!
About four months ago, my friends and i ate there and to our surprise, the vinegar bottle on our table had small cockroaches in it, around 5 as far as i could remember. Pleasantly, i asked for another bottle, and to our disbelief (yet again!) it had 6 small roaches in it! Since there were only about 4 groups eating at that time, i checked the vacant tables and inspected all the vinegar bottles, at the end of it, i accumulated 6 vinegar bottles with roaches. Eew! I complained at the cashier and looked for the manager or supervisor, no higher authority was in sight, and she was apologetic saying "pasensya na po, pero hindi po talaga natin maiiwasan yan." Wow! what customer service! Sheeesh!! I could tolerate a bottle or two, but not 6, for heaven's sake!!! And she practically begged to get the bottles, maybe she thought that i might bring it to court as exhibit a. Hehehe. Well, luck was on her side that night, and i refrained from being the monster food service complainant (if it comes to that) that i am. She offered a 10% discount, which we accepted as it wouldn't hurt us anyway. But this post will do even greater retaliation to the food service injustice that Bacolod Chicken Inasal Cybermall gave us...
i still eat at other branches of bacolod chicken inasal, though, but i'm quite critical in checking all their condiment bottles first. And God only knows what happens in their kitchens! but as they say, what we don't see won't hurt us, so i'll leave my food check at what's on our table...

i know it's more of a cafe than a resto but they serve a wide variety of sandwiches and pasta, this place along libis. i ordered what i hoped was a deli sandwich but maaaaan, they used cheap ingredients... mula sa cold cuts hanggang sa potato chips on the side. needless to say, the taste was disappointing. i knew what kind of brand they're trying to project theirs to be but come on, if you're trying to position yourself as an upscale American coffee franchise, don't scrimp on the ingredients please.

moomba... their steak has got to be the thinnest on the planet. sorry excuse for a steak... geez... plus, everything else is salty...
cravings and all it's branches... their food sucks big time!
bubba gump's... their so-called 'big' shrimps are scrawny... not worth the money i'm paying for their food...
yaku... bad service + salty food...
bargo, aresi (both are closed)... the worst service ever...
hap chan... their food used to be good but when their partner left and opened up david's, their food quality just went straight down
gloriamaris... their food used to be good but it's definitely on the downturn now...
tequila joe's... lousy waiters and slow service
chicago roast beef... they call their sandwich the ultimate roast beef sandwich but it only has a few slices of beef in it...
china star... found a worm in the food... ewww...
the kitchen... great food? what a laugh...
soleil... the food is horribly bland... what kinda cuisine are you guys supposed to serve anyway?
casa armas... the tapas servings are way too small! be more generous!
figaro... their espresso needs work... on the upside though, your regular brewed is excellent...
bizu... horribly overpriced cakes... i heard they never paid the guy who thought of the concept for their cakes...
restaurant 12 (closed now)... the only good thing i ever ate here was the ostrich...
i got several others on the tip of my tongue but can't remember their names... as soon as my brain starts working again, i'll post them...

1. Mumba: A Roces in Quezon City. This resto was hip and oh so nice when it first opened, we even had an event there. But gaaad oh gaaaaad the food has gone down in quality to the point that losers na lang kumakain diyan! Their meat is always not cooked very well, tatapalan na lang ng sauce. Hindi fresh yung mga food nila, I'm telling you. The place looks really nice, but that's really about it. Blech, still remember the taste of uncooked meat the last time I went there.
2. Bubba Gump: tama yung nag post, super oily ang food tapos super pricey!
3. Country Waffles: I also agree with the earlier post Pancake House is much much better. Magaling lang sila sa presentation, tapos yung presyo...ober. Well, let's not beat a dead horse. Sarado na nga eh...

i like eating out.. lalo na pag may discounts or promo.. had this bad experience with one resto (although at this certain branch lang) twice in a row, talk about d natuto... anyway it's Wan Chai along del monte ave in QC. they have this promo na 40% less 9:59pm onwards. so me and my gf ate there one time... we came to the restaurant around 940pm i think... so since d pa start promo, we ordered some dimsums para appetizer muna. so d kasali mga to sa discount.. when we had our bill... they discounted everything so syempre natuwa ako.. baka they just discounted everything since few mins nalang eh... so i paid went out.. then eto na.. hinabol ako nung parang head waitress or something... as in nakatawid na kami to my car.. mali daw yung bill kasi naisama dw yung less ng dimsum.. so i checked the bill again.. then i saw na pati yung rice d nila sinama sa discount.. so i questioned her, check daw ulet.. grabe ang tagal namin nag antay ulet.. then bumalik sya it turns out na yung waiter nila sinigit yung order namin na rice sa list ng walang less.. wtf... sobrang kabanas yun dahil may promo sila pati service nag less den.. dpat d ko nalang binayaran para ma22 sila na ayusin naman service nila.. error nila e...
2nd time around, d natuto eh.. what can i do.. 40% pa rin eh hehe.. so eto after my mom and i had dinner.. we ordered something for take out.. so pag dating ng take out naka lagay lang sya sa plastic... so asked ko na dapat ata nasa styro to kasi take out ndi leftover balot... sagot ng waiter sa akin.. lugi na daw kasi pag styro kasi 40% less na.. wow gulat ko nun.. i mean i dont think na you have to sacrifice the service and quality dahil lang 40% discount..
anyway share lang .. :D

the newly-opened david's tea house in greenbelt has the worst service ever.:down::down: we ordered 3 yang chow fried rice, 2 dumplings, 2 siomai, 1 chopsuey, 1 siopao and 1 cuapao...the waiter was not writing down the order so only 1 yang chow, 2 dumplings, 1 siomai, 1 chopsuey and 1 cuapao made it to our table. one of my companions gave up and just went to the nearby tokyo tokyo to get his lunch.

Hahaha... you must have been brought up in a high class family or something.. dahil my friends are uber wealthy and they never felt disgusted over ma mun luk's dishes and whatnots.

nope i'm neither "uber wealthy" nor brought up in a high class family..sorry but nothing will change the fact that the first (& maybe the last?) time i tried Ma mon luk the food was really disgusting. Oody's----gave it a second chance 2 weeks ago and it's still blah! Add to the fact that mabagal ang service...their pandan juice looks like slime (and yucky and taste) and their lemongrass juice tastes like soap...natuto na ako...never again....
Mangan- food was cold and para ka lang nasa carinderia...at ang mahal pa...mas masarap pa ata ang jollijeep...
Kitchen in Greenbelt....it's taken from the Mangan concept so I don't need to say more...
Pepato----let me emphasize that the food was not that lousy...the service was and the price was really nakakabutas ng bulsa...not worth it...maliit ang servings...although the food was not lousy, it was nothing special....definitely not worth your money.... IMO...
