Who dresses better? Ateneans or La Sallians?

Sino mas magaling jumaporms, mga Atenista o mga Lasalyano? For me, La Sallians kasi mas hindi sila takot magsuot ng daring clothes.

generally speaking, i go for la salle, i guess... coz they make it a big deal how one dresses there!!!

sa ateneo kasi, come as you are. parang UP, kahit pumasok ka ng naka-pajama coming from Cervini para wag lang ma-late, or wearing sun beach rubber sandals, ok lang. Who cares?! As long as one tolerates himself being seen that way!

For all we care on dressing as long as we
pass our subjects! for ateneans, Dressing comes next to academics!

It's a matter of personal taste, dudes. Some Ateneans are snappy dressers, some La Sallians are snappy too. I'm ADMU myself, and never been to the Taft campus, but one thing I noticed: a lot of Atenean males like wearing ethnic, probinsiya-style outfits.

and moving on, i definitely agree with fenixx. Comfort before everything else (and take note, I'd definitely would NOT be comfortable wearing pajamas in class - so take this with a grain of salt, ok?). And another thing: Suppose you notice someone who was relatively shabbily dressed, and that person didn't care about how he was dressed. Sino ang nakalamang?

Considering the dress code in La Salle, they can be daring without bordering on cheap. Haven't been to the eagle's nest for a long time, but my friends from there dress pretty simple.

I used to go to school in shorts, a shirt, and sneakers or sandals. :D

Oh yeah, I agree with virtualara. I don't think daring = better. Not at all.

Also, (but this is not an answer to the question) I don't think the La Sallians can be more daring in school 'cause they have a dress code. I agree... maporma lang naman in their 1st-2nd year in the school but as time goes by, wala narin yan, di na rin poporma yan noh...

Are you referring to their school attire or the clothes they wear in the outside world? I haven't really been to Ateneo to observe much, but the DLSU style is a mix of conservative (with the dress code and all), artsy (esp. in ***) and trendy (straight out of the fashion mags).

Being a Lasallian myself, I personally don't dwell much on clothing. I dress to be comfortable rather than fashionable. Once in a while though, I have this urge to ditch my jeans in favor of a skirt or slacks.

oo nga. yung mga Lasalyano, kahit hindi branded, marunong magdala kaya mukhang sosyal at expensive yung damit. yung mga kaibigan ko sa ateneo, ang hilig magsuot ng signature clothing. hindi naman bagay.

How one defines "japorms"/"porma" is relative... for some LaSallians, japorms may be directly related to branded/signature clothes... while for Ateneans, as the others have so rightly pointed out, comfort comes first before trendsetting... anywayz, in either case, I believe both types of students from the two schools have their merits. I have to say it's La Salle.

Someone said that the people here make a big deal out of posh dressing. I have to agree. One time i came to school with bacon-collared shirt, faded jeans, and that horrible red&blue Girbaud sneakers--and everybody from s-gate to sj walk is looking at me with disgust. Well, they have the right to--anubayun?! Ferragamo, pang-ulan niya lang! Mga signature accessories pinang-aaraw-araw lang! Mga italian shoes, pang-gasgas lang sa pebble wash.

Nahahasap talaga ako dito. A veteran told me na if i'll be dressing like that (mukhang gusgusin), be sure na may dala daw akong T-square. I hope you people know what i mean. On the other hand... WHO CARES?!

But look at the bright side, once you know these lasallians nakikibagay naman sila sa aming mga kapuspalad.

in ateneo you have the freedom to wear WHATEVR YOU WANT. no silly dress codes there. that means that there is a wide range of clothing styles to choose from. some people dress all conyo and fashionable, some dress all trendy, some dress dark and gothic, some dress comfortably. basta, lahat ng sytles kita sa ateneo. that means there's something to please everybody.

Student from UP: "Naku naman! Peanut butter sandwich na naman! Ayoko na! Pag bukas peanut butter sandwich na naman ang lunch ko, magpapakamatay na lang ako!"

Atenean: "Oh, man! Roast beef sandwich again?!! If I have to eat this again tomorrow, I'll kill myself!"

LaSallite: " --#@*%--! I can't believe I have turkey sandwich again! I don't want this anymore! If this is what I'll be having for lunch tomorrow, I'd rather die!"

The next day...

The UP student was heard to shout "Peanut butter na naman!", and proceeded to throw himself off a bridge into the Pasig River.

The Atenean saw he had roast beef sandwich again, quietly rewrapped his food, got his bag, went to his dorm room, and hung himself from the rafters.

The LaSallite seeing turkey peeking out between bread slices, cursed out loud, strode to the trash can, and threw the sandwich and the rest of his lunch in there. Then he got into his shiny new car and drove himself into a sturdy cement pole

The next day, their respective mothers were being interviewed for the evening news.

Mother of the UPian: (crying) "Kung alam ko lang ho na gagawin niya 'yan, iniba ko na lang ho sana ang inihanda kong pananghalian niya."

Mother of the Atenean: (teary-eyed) "If I only knew he would kill himself over a roast beef sandwich, I could've asked his yaya to fix him something else for lunch."

Mother of the LaSallite: (sigh)"Ewan ko ba! I really don't understand why he killed himself because he was having a turkey sandwich again for lunch. E, everyday, siya naman ang nagfi-fix ng lunch niya."

(baka mapaaway pa ako :D ) hindi na dapat pinag-iisipan pa yan kasi kanya-kanya pa rin tayong opinyon... some people care so much about the clothes they wear others don't... so, why judge people who don't dress according to what the latest fashion dictates when they themselves don't even care about it... :bop: para ka na ring gumawa ng sarili mong problema...

however, for the information of those who don't know la sallians also dress for comfort... if one will just look closely they'll see that most of the students come in t-shirts and sandals when they feel like it... especially during exams week... :lol:

I would like to share an incident with you.
two of my friends celebrated their birthday, and they had this really simple dinner for their schoolmates and friends. Girl 1 was from Ateneo and Girl 2 was from LaSalle.
So, there were 2 tables...1 for the eagles and the other for the archers. Girl 1 suddenly approached me and told me..."bakit ganyan suot nyo? db sabi naman namin simple dinner lang? look at us naman...naka pang-school outfit lang kami!" I was actually shocked by hearing the question....wala ako nasabi...excpt for.."huh? e eto lang rin ang suot namin sa skul eh!"

In my opinion, we cant really judge whether the Ateneans dress better than the Lasallians, or vice versa. For one thing not all people have the same "taste" in clothing. I may think a certain person dresses well while another may think otherwise. And besides, at the Ateneo we don't have a dress code like La Salle does. So students come in whatever they feel like wearing. You'll see lots of students walking around campus in jeans, a shirt and sneakers. Anything comfortable. I have to tell you that it can get terribly hot in class. And it also depends on the person. Some like to dress up for class, while others just don't care. Well that's what I think...
