I took entrance exams in UP, Ateneo, La Salle and PLM. The most difficult was the ACET! The proctors were so strict with the time, so I wasn't able to finish a lot of numbers! grrr...

i took the entrance exams in UP, Ateneo, DLSU, UA&P, and UST. well, the hardest for me was the one in UA&P, specially the abstract reasoning part. add to that a super strong air conditioning unit and there's nothing you can do but to let your brain cells sleep and stop functioning.

i only took ACET and UPCAT. i passed both and got my first course choices (both Math). they're both difficult. for the ACET, sobrang ikli ng time. sa UPCAT naman, in TAGALOG at sobrang haba!!

La Salle and the UPCAT. In La Salle, you have to answer 3 questions in 1 minute. Tha's pretty harsh.

SaintofKillers really? i hope hindi sa math kasi with ACET, on the average, you have to answer it in 30 seconds (hindi pa kina-count ang pagbasa ng prob) :D

I took the college entrance exams of UP, ADMU, UA&P and Miriam. I absolutely loved UA&P's exam, precisely because of the abstract reasoning part. ;) The found ACET the hardest and the time limit didn't help (feel the pressure! :p ). Miriam College's entrance exam was the easiest, IMHO. ;)

I took a test on UE 5 months later and passed. The UE test was a scab compared to the other tests. I was able to finish it with 1 hour left.

Mine was, "what can you say or do about our country's brain drain?" :D

..something like that...

Apr 20, 2000, 12:19 AM

ACET was the most difficult for me, its only exam that made me doubt my capabilities.

Marami ang bumabagsak sa UPCAT kasi naman compared to ACET, nearly 500% more siguro ang kumukuha nito and the tagalog questions didn't help either.

DLSU's exam was a breeze, I slept 70% of the time alloted. And my essay question was:

If you have a friend who passed UP, Ateneo and La Salle, which school would you recommend? Duh, fishing ba?? :)

Really? My question was

"How did high school life help you become a better person?"

Anyway, getting back to the topic, the hardest was probably the ACET, next the UPCAT then the DLSU test.

The easiest for me was the ACET followed by the UPCAT. Pinakamahirap was the LaSalle. Baliktad! Kasi I'm not good sa math, eh di ko natapos yung math sa LaSalle. The ACET was cool because of the time pressure. The topics were spread out pa. Di ko namalayan na tapos na. It was totally fun! :)

Well..I guess every school has its difficult part. As far as I could remember then, I pretty sure I was going to pass UST (which was more like NCEE for me, sorry but its true) and UP (despite the right minus wrong thing in UP). I got a hard time in the logic/ abstract reasoning in La Salle which really irked me. As for Ateneo exam, the time pressure was really killing me but I specially like the trivia part..hehehe... ;)

I took the UPCAT, ACET and La Salle entrance exam. The ACET was definitely the hardest!!! Especially the math part! Diba the trick is, if you don't know the answer, skip it first? In math, I skipped and I skipped and I skipped and before I knew it, I was on the last number na at wala pa akong nasasagutan!!! Help! Panic! :D

The UPCAT was ok, I guess. I just didn't notice at that time because I really wanted to get into UP, and all that pressure didn't help much.

The La Salle entrance exam? I found our room too cold. I had difficulty writing down the essay with numb fingers! Pero, like the others said, parang mas madali pa yung NCEE. Just my opinion... :)

Somehow it was the UPCAT for me. It was my first college entrance exam and I guess i wasn't warmed up. I passed, though.

The ACET was my favorite exam, especially the General Info part.

I took the DLSU exam when i was super lacking of sleep. I had my retreat the previous day and i was up til 4am, when my exam was at 9am. Surprisingly, i found the Math part the easiest.

I took both the ACET and the UPCAT and I swear, up to now, I have absolutely no idea how I managed to pass that ATENEO exam. Sobrang eenie-meenie-mynie-moe na lang ako sa Math part (that's because I was kapal enough not to get any math electives in highschool ... para tumaas ang average - which actually worked!) and I think I answere puro c and b kasi someone told me that the right answers daw were usually the ones placed in the middle (or something to that extent).

UPCAT wasn't totally in Filipino at that time so it was a breeze. Actually, the UPCAT is easy eh, it's the competition that's deadly. Only a percentage of your wrong answers will be subtracted from your right ones. (I think 20% for questions with 5 items sa multiple choice and 25% for questions with 4 items sa multiple choice). ALSO if you're not sure of your answer (as in you cannot make an intelligent guess), leave that item blank. hindi nila ibabawas yun sa score mo. (Pero don't leave too many blank items din naman). :D :D :D

The most difficult was UPCAT kasi ang haba.I think it was more than three hours.

ACET was not that difficult if you know the proper strategy. All you have to is answering the same letters for all numbers before you read the questions. Then start reading the questions and if your former answer was wrong then just change it. With this kahit maubusan ka ng time at least may answers lahat ng questions at it would make a bigger probability of passing.

I took 4 college entrance tests namely UPCAT, La Salle, Ateneo & UST.

I found La Salle to be the hardest due to the math & science part.

The UPCAT was relatively easy while the Ateneo test was less difficult than La Salle but harder than the UPCAT.

UST? Very Easy.

I only took UPCAT and ACET (ganuon kasi ako ka bilib sa sarili ko dati - yabang ko nuon noh?) I passed both (MBB sa UP and ChCE sa AdMU). I just can't believe pano ako naging merit iskolar sa AdmU considering di pa ako nakakalahati sa reading comprehension ubos na oras. Langya naman bumawi na lang ako sa math kaya diretso ako Ma21 but I still believe mas mahirap yung math ng UPCAT - tagalog kasi eh! Over-all mas mahirap ACET!

ACET. Sobra, i was sooo disappointed i didn't pass. Kasi my dad was an atenean, naturally I also wanted to be one. Pumasa naman ako ng UPCAT, kaya yung mga smart alecks na nagfifeeling na taga-UP na mayayabang, hindi kami tinawag na DLSU because DI KAMI LUMUSOT SA UPCAT. There are some of us who did pass the exam, but MADE THE BETTER CHOICE. So there. :)

I took the ones from UP, UST, PLM, La Salle and for the heck of it, San Juan De Dios. I passed all of them except for UP. I really don't think it's the hardest kaya lang I think I was cheated a bit kasi I took the test in January and most of the questions (mainly Math, I think) they put on there, we haven't discussed in class yet. I ended up guessing on most of them.

If I were to rank the four entrance exams I took for college, from hardest to easiest, it would be: UA&P, DLSU, ACET and UPCAT.

I'm not kidding about UA&P. It was unbelievably difficult, especially the abstract reasoning part. I saw no reason, only abstract. With ACET...well, everybody's heard about its Math part. It's like going through hell.

What I don't understand is (and this isn't to incite a flame war, certainly not) most of my "intellectually inferior" (oh, to hell with being politically correct: my bobo classmates) peers were able to pass the DLSU and UA&P entrance exam. I was also able to pass them myself but with its difficulty, I didn't expect my classmate who got 75's all over his report card to pass it as well.

noong time ako (as if it was a long time ago) , in 1997...

ACET is definitely the hardest. sobrang kulang sa time at ang hirap. good thing, i passed ! :)

DLSU-- i'm suprised that many people find it the hardest nowadays. siguro, iba na talaga ang test. it was the easiest before - got sleepy and was so relaxed.

UPCAT - i did not find shifting from tagalog to english and english to tagalog during the test so hard, just a little bit disorienting.

UA&P - ok lang abstract nila. it's like a combination of DLSU & ACET but it's definitely much easier than ACET and little bit harder than DLSU.

i'm just glad that i didnt spend on review classes. they don't work! as they say, it's all stock knowledge!

i took acet and the dlsu exam. ACET was obviously harder. but the good thing is, i passed it and graduated na! ha! they actually let us know what grades we got from the exam. i got "very good" in math, pero "good" lang in vocabulary. u must average at least "very good" in all categories to be admitted to the ateneo. dlsu exam was a breeze. yung essay question was: do u think education is neccessary for success?

personally, i found the u.p. test the most difficult test i took...pero most of my friends say the acet is harder, and that the upcat was easy (and that a lot of people took it, thus the reason for the low passing rate w/ my batch)...i don't know, maybe i was just "trained" more with the ateneo system kaya i found it easier.

I took 3 exams and these are my impressions regarding those exams:

UPCAT- A bit hard but some questions are easy.

ACET- The hardest, time pressure is so great that it's impossible to finish the test. Believe me, I've been a proctor of ACET twice and I never saw anybody finish the whole test.

DLSU- Kindergarten. I wasn't able to finish the Math part of both ACET and UPCAT, but hey in this test, I was able to finish it. No offense, but their test is really easy. I did not study the night before (in fact, I attended a party) but look I passed it with flying colors.

http://www.pinoyexchange.com/angel.gif I would say the UPCAT. But its not that really hard. You'll only be pressured because of the right minus wrong thing. http://www.pinoyexchange.com/angel.gif On the other hand, my friends told me that the ACET is harder than the UPCAT. I guess it really depends on what your strengths are in answering the exam and the type of test was given to you. http://www.pinoyexchange.com/angel.gif

UPCAT - i'm not a tagalog-speaker, and thought this would be hard, but i didn't do too badly (oblation din, heh).
ACET - i didn't find the math that bad because i USED to love math, I don't think i finished the abstract reasoning part. Merit pa rin :)
DLSU - the hardest part of this exam was waiting for the proctor to continue on to the next part of the text.

I took the UP, Ateneo and the UST entrance tests..well actually i took the lyceum test rin pero for fun lang! UPCAT is loonggg but kinda easy..u just have to learn how to skim paragraphs especially in the Filipino part. Just average.

ACET is a killer! Grabe, sumakit ang ulo ko! Logic would have been easy for me if we've discussed it b4 taking the exam. SObra as in 30 items in 5 minutes yata un. and each item consists of 3 sentences (the syllogism part).. That math? it's hard but not so hard. In ACET kc u really have to manage ur time and maintain ur peace of mind.. Nerve wracking kc e!

In UST naman.. IQ test..need I say more?

Sa Lyceum..pang grade 1. ehehe..pero it's true =) tapos *** proctor pa tulog! hehe, neway what cud u expect on a free entrance exam?

Of all the 3,(well actually 4, i dnt count lyceum in kc) ACET is definitely the hardest.
Buti na lang I passed them all :p :p :p :p :p
Neway, I'm currently in UPdiliman. :p

Madali naman lahat yun eh :) (yabang no!) Seriously yung sa ACET mabilis yung time - (20-30 questions 5 mins yata, I think that was English pero chicken naman ang the rest )Yung sa DLSU malamig nga kase eh sabi dapat 25 deg for optimum thinking pero ok parin. Yung sa UPCAT, meron palang right minus wrong well no effect naman. hehehe.

I took the entrance exam of UP, DLSU, CSB, UST, ADeZ, WMSU and STI.

UP = I found the test Average for me, but is highly competitive.
DLSU = I found the test in a high average for me, specially the essay writing in filipino.
CSB = I found the test above average which is easier than La Salle's.
UST = I found the test moderate for me.
AdeZ = very easy
WMSU = easier than ADeZ.
STI = no sweat!

 Ang pinaka mahirap na test that I ever took was my University of Cambrigde Local Examination Syndicate Test-UCLES. That test was three hours long and is all essay. Mahirap yon dahil ang mga essay questions ay masyadong general and you really have to discuss the topic fully-from definition, example and analysis. It is so difficult that the passing mark is only 40% because no one can really perfect the exams not only Cambridge tests but any UK test.

I can't forget this one question in the UPCAT which was in Tagalog which really got my attention. Sabi..."BIRHEN AT PU%@." I couldn't help myself. I was giggling in my seat. Everyone in the room could hear me nga eh. The proctor even gave me a mad look cause I was interrupting the class with my giggling. Wala lang. Just wanted to share that.

As for the hardest test that I took, I guess it would be the one of UA&P. Ang hirap ng math part. Kasing hirap niya yung sa Ateneo. Maybe even harder. Ang lamig pa ng mga classrooms. Lalo kang kakabahan.

ACET was definitely the hardest. There came a time na 5 minutes ko lang tinatapos ang bawat segment nung test kasi di na gumagana ang utak ko kaya shade na lang ako ng shade ng mga circles.

DLSU exam was second hardest. I don't know why people say that this exam was easy.

UPCAT is next. This exam was easy but the fact na napakarami ang nagtest and mas marami rin ang may mas mataas na grade sa akin made it almost imposible for students with average brains.

UST exam was easy.

I took the test last 1998.

why? it's because people posting here are reacting as to how they have perceived the test during the time they took it. an examinee who has taken the entrance exams in 1989 would have a totally different opinion/view about the test as opposed to somebody who just took it only a year ago. like any other test, dumadaan din naman siguro ang dlscet ng iba't-ibang revisions and studies every year.

a lot of dlsu-manila students, alumni/alumnae, and administrators are very much aware of the feedback examinees have on the dlscet. may ilan-ilan na rin ang nagsasabi (tulad mo) na mahirap ang exam. mabuti naman. ;)

acet is the hardest in terms of exam content but in terms of the possibility of making it (or should I say passing), upcat is the hardest.

to belteshazzar,

why are you so full of air? what's so special about passing the upcat? you don't have to tell the whole world that you passed it in order to prove that you're intelligent. I myself is an upcat passer but I don't degrade other schools like what you're doing. Just be polite to acknowledge other answers because everybody is entitled to their own opinion.

Out of the three, sa DLSU lang ako hindi pumasa (I was wait-listed naman sa DSLU), which is ironic since student nga ako ng isang La Salle school. ateneo was the hardest. labo nga eh.

i wanted to get into up and major in indus eng. however, i didn't make it off to the cut-off mark. my only hope would be ateneo and lasalle. when i took the acet, IT WAS SO HARD!!! (traumatic, even!) with that, i just decided to go to lasalle and major in ece. what's surprising is, i passed the test! labo...

well, it's a good thing i passed.

Uncle Johnny,

since you are an UPCAT passer, you know why I feel this way. education in UP makes someone more critical, realizing our advantage and edge over others. freedom is one of the greatest issue today in UP. yes, I know that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, there's no question about it. but am i not entitled to my own opinion too? the problem is that when we speak ourselves, they think that it is boasting but actually its not, its just another part of academic freedom, to freely express your thoughts and ideas. anyway, i am not feeling bad towards you, just want to make that clear. masyado lang kasi akong nag-init sa mga comments nila, and i'm wrong at that. i'll try to be polite next time. thanks for reminding me.

ACET of course. You'll end up with a whopper of a headache after taking it. Contrary to what most people said, the english part was a breeze. UPCAT naman, it was tough because it had science and math questions in Filipino. With the LaSalle test, well, the classroom was too cold, plus the font they used for the exam was too small.

hay naku, of all the tests i took, wala. i dunno. i never took the ACET becoz di ko trips ang ENG'G dun. UST's test was a breeze. i finished thirty minutes ahead. so that means, UPCAT was the hardest for me although i don't regard it as hard. the problem there is that almost all people take that test and marami ring kayong nadalian

I was told the ACET was the hardest, pero I didn't take the exam. UP and DLSU, I think, are of the same difficulty. UST, medyo easy, except sa science, super hirap. =) I passed the 3 exams. =)

I had to write about: (DLSU)

"Bakit mo mas gugustuhing manatili sa iyong sariling bansa?"
"What can you get from a Lasallian education?"

Whatever!!!

sa UP, nadalian ako sa tst, except 4 some of d questions asking abt certain things in othr countries, nabokya ako dun! :) umuulan nung nagtetest kami, kaya nagsilabasan mga insecto... hehe! :) may grashopper pa sa loob ng classroom! :)
sa Ateneo, it was OK naman. pumasa ako dun but i chose 2 go 2 lasal coz dey hav better computer program der. :)
sa UST, dey hav diffrent tsts 4 diff courses ryt? architecture kasi knuha ko, and dey hav so many items rgarding abstract things! kakahilo! it was fun, pero sakit sa ulo! :)
ok naman lahat, yun *** nga sa UP d me pumasa. :) but it's ok, im happy in dlsu now.

I took the entrance tests in UP, Ateneo, DLSU, UA&P, and UST...

Honestly speaking pinakasisiw ang UST... Pinaglumaan na kasi yung test questions...

Next was the UPCAT... Yabang ba???

Then the DLSUCET... La Salliano ako nung high school e!!!

UA&P test was hard... I really didn't get the point of having abstract reasoning...

The most difficult was the ACET... SH*T! Time pressure twisted all of my brains out of me... Questions were so hard!!!

But then,,, I passed all of 'em!!!

Definitely ACET... i literally had a head ache after taking the test. I'm lucky to have passed Ateneo's entrance exam.

Next was UPCAT, it would've been easy if it weren't for those annoying tagalog questions.

DLSU? need I mention? piece of cake... it's like taking candy from a baby... like a walk in the park. I came in late pa and i still had the time to sing while I was taking the test. NO S L U T WAS EASIER THAN DLSU'S ENTRANCE EXAM!!! And don't forget those stupid essay questions!

susunod kong entrance exam, ust med entrance exam. *gulp* :(

i took ACET, UPCAT and the entrance exam in UST. i think the upcat was relatively okay, except for the science questions asked in filipino. i hated the one-word appraoch part of the english test in ust. acet wan't really hard but i think the time limit put much pressure on the test takers. anyway, i passed all three - o.t. for up, comsci for ateneo and actuarial science in ust. i'm in the ateneo right now.

For me, ACET is the most difficult in terms of complexity and time constraint. You really have to be intelligent and a quick thinker in order to do well.

UPCAT is next. The use of Pilipino in some sections made it more difficult that it should be.

La Salle's test is a breeze which is sad to admit since I am from La Salle.

Ako mismo proud dahil syempre nakapasa ako dun.

Pero what u hav to understand e UP is just rated no.1 palagi kasi it's the state university - - and don't u guys deny it.

I really don't wanna fight pero i really am sick and tired of UP people who think that they are so superior - duh! reality check mga tsong!

Tsaka u proved me right kung bakit hindi nga ako tumuloy sa UP. - Masyado kasing impulsive e...

If u want to take this note as an insult , hell i don't care...

basta for me i am just making a point - we r also taught that here...

Anyway dun sa mga pinasahan na skuls?

ACET ang pinakamahirap grabe!!! Literally na nilagnat ako pagkatapos...

Next was DLSU coz of their science...

No offense UP ppl pero I really think the UPCAT was easy - - tubong Bulacan kasi ako e... Purong tagalog!!

Pero no regrets - - Fight Blue and White!

Most difficult was Ateneo's ACET. You really have to think fast, otherwise you will not finish the test. The questions were also difficult.

After ACET, UPCAT was the next most difficult not because of the questions but because of the use of Pilipino.

DLSU's test was really easy. It looks more like a high school entrance test to me.

I'm not really sure why people say that the UPCAT is easier than the ACET, or is harder only because of the Filipino questions.

I competed in science contests in high school, and could gauge that the science portion of the UPCAT was no joke. At best, you could walk out of the room thinking you got things right.

Focusing on the Math portion of the ACET alone would be misleading. It's just one part of the exam, and many people solve the remaining parts like English and general knowledge in half the time given time. The Math portion's time pressure can be diminished by selecting which questions to answer first.

For example, Trig questions require memorized facts so they are quickly answered. Geometry questions involve looking at a diagram and can go second. Getting bogged down in the algebra parts which are longer may get people stuck, since one number is one number.

Even if you run out of time, you can count 25% of the unanswered numbers as correct by picking one letter and shading that one for every remaining number.

I agree, though, that compared to these two, the other exams were less intimidating. UA&P, though, I hear, has upgraded its Math portion. When I was a high school senior, its exam had nothing but algebra questions that were all covered by freshman math.

:D pero nasa UP ako ngayon.

I took the following college entrance exams in 1998:

Ateneo de Manila - definitely the hardest, some of the math probs were around at par with the team questions in the Phil. Math Olympiad nationals. I was used to time limits in solving math problems so I was able to finish it, but not without throbbing pain on the back of my head after the test. This is the only one exam that gave me apprehensions about passing. I was pretty happy i passed as a merit scholar (didnt even hear about such a thing until I received the results).

UP - not as hard as I expected. Though the tagalog parts took some time for my mind to fully register (I didnt even understand some Tagalog questions). I still have a hard time with tagalog-language subjects to this day (and I just took Philosophy in Filipino here in ADMU, it was bloody murder for one who is not fluent in the language)... The math part was fun though. Especially the pseudo-proving part near the end (proving na multiple choice).

La Salle - that was an entrance exam? Piece of cake. I was literally smiling/grinning to myself while answering the questions. Some of the math problems were an insult to intelligence (just kidding). I mean, questions like, "How many edges are there in a cube?" or simple distance and mixture problems. The Science questions were also general knowledge. This was one exam I felt sure of acing. And I just used the template of my Ateneo application essay for the essay part coz the questions were along similar lines. But brrrr, the air-conditioniong system must have really been cranked to the max and they wont let me out of the room even if I finished most parts in less than half the allotted time.

Ateneo de Zamboanga - It was one exam I never intended to take. I took it during April na because a friend convinced me to take the exam just for the heck of it on the day he was scheduled to take the test. When I started reading the problems.... Pffft. Answer with your eyes closed.

Western Mindanao State University - what the? May mali pa ata ang questions. Wala sa choices ang answer. Sabi pa ng proctor just answer anyway, ok... Eenie, meenie, miney, moe. Unexpectedly, I topped the exam. It was like, huh??? How'd that happen???

Thank God I passed all exams and got all my first choices: PSCE in ADMU, CE in UP, CE in DLSU, CE in WMSU, CS in AdeZ. So I had to eventually choose among the big three: UP, Ateneo, La Salle. My parents were a bit against my studying in UP, so it was out of the list. Finally, after thinking a lot of stuff over, I decided to study in ADMU.
However, if I was a year younger and still passed DLSU, there is a big chance that I might have studied there after their opening of the CS-CE program.

My younger sister took all the exams I had taken plus the UST and UA&P tests and she shares my sentiments with the exams we both took. In addition, she said that she found the UA&P exam harder than UP and DLSU, and that UST was among the easier ones. I dunno how she would rank them according to difficulty though. But we are now mortal enemies, nag-DLSU kasi siya! Heheh. :)

I find this curious, Howard.

In 1997, I took the same exams and would give the same answer above but apply it to the UP exam. I'd add that it had some questions comparable to those in various science contests as well, and the chem questions were still on my mind when I left the testing room.

Did you know that the UPCAT scoring system is correct minus fraction of incorrect? Others simply considers the number of correct answers as the score. The UPCAT may be easier but then again...

Pepe: I see with your point. For me, the UPCAT was the easiest of the tests I took (UPCAT, ACET, DLSU-EE), and a lot of my friends agree with me. But it's hardest to to get in UP because 1) 'yun nga, yung scoring system, and 2) the competition -- there are a hecka lot more people who apply to UP than to ADMU or DLSU.

Well ACET was the hardest. Well the questions were not that tough but the limited time made it one. DLSUCET was easy as compared to ACET. What made it a bit complicated is the number of choices (a to e). The probability of choosing the correct answer among the choices were low. UPCAT was the easiest, well contrary to what other people say.
I passed ACET (Management Eng) DLSU (Civil Eng) UP (Civil Eng.)

-Yung ACET ang pinakanahirapan ako, as in sobrang hirap. I had the same feeling with the others who said na feeling nila sobrang bagsak na sila sa exam...

Eng'g)... Pero I chose to go to UP. ;P

i took 5.(easiest to hardest)

the easiest was benilde ;) took the test just for the heck of it! as in sobrang easy, parang 5x5 ___ 4x9 a.= b.> c.< d. none of the above

then la salle..cute ng essay part!

ateneo...i dunno since i expected that the acet was going to be definitely hard (expecting for the worst) pero when i was taking it, the vocab and math was okay.not naman sobrang dali or hirap pero parang normal lang na test. it was nice answering the general info.

tapos ust...math and english was easy pero hula lang sa science..hehe..

up was the hardest! kasi ang dami kasing nagsasabi na madali kaya walang preparation! tapos ang init pa nung room! ang humid pa kasi umuulan.pagtingin ko, whoa, puro geometric and arithmetic means, trigo cosine, etc.ang gulo pa kasi *** history and science naging tagalog! pero awa naman ng diyos, napasa naman....

the hardest i think was from CSB. i don't know what happened to me? all my classmates are saying wlang kwenta test sa CSB, but that was the only test that i lacked time.
I PASSED CSB WITH MY FIRST CHOICE.

UP was a bit hard bec right minus wrong, filipino, and i need to leave blanks in order to save my ***. I FAILED IN UP.

Dlsu i think was the most manageable. i didn't lack time. i left no blanks. AND I PASSED WITH MY FIRST CHOICE.

ACET was the hardest, definitely. I gave up on the thought of passing as soon as I saw the math part. I was very fortunate to have passed with my first choice. And of course, I decided to go there eventually.

UP was ok. It was the scoring system that made it hard for people to pass. I failed though.

DLSU's exam was a piece of cake, as earlier mentioned. I was pretty sure I'd pass it the moment I saw the questions, and sure enough, I passed and got my first choice.

UST was a joke. I took it with my friends so I could be exempted from my saturday CAT classes. Although the English part they say was hard, it was quite manageable. I passed and got my first choice as well.

Ateneo Law School Exam was hard too. The logic part was excruciating for someone who wasnt able to enroll in a class of Philo of Logic.

UP law school exam was quite easy. It's the interview part that sucks.

During my time, I would say that the UPCAT was the easiest exam. Next was La Salle and then Ateneo. But even if the UPCAT was the easiest, it doesn't mean that you can get inside UP mainly because of the competition. Thousands of students apply for UP every year and getting a real good course in UP is a challenge.

If you're not really into reading, you will not find the ACET easy. The test was so time-constrained that you couldn't go through all. But their math part was the easiest, even easier than UP's. For La Salle, hmmp!, I don't know if I was just too confident that I never reviewed for it but I found it hard. But, it was the most balanced exam among the three.

Luckily, I passed all three getting first choices (all quota). I even kept my acceptance letter in UP. Sayang lang, I lost the one in Ateneo.

Nevertheless, I went to La Salle for the chicks and because it was nearer to our place. But then, wala rin! di rin ako nakahanap ng serious na gf sa la salle. just a couple of flings. But you know what? The funny thing is, I found a serious girl friend who happens to study in UP.

TiNyCuTie, PLM was one of the easiest exams I took. The proctor was very helpful too. She gave out the answer to one of the Math questions! :rotfl: Anyway, I asked coz I haven't seen anyone post about PLM. What's your course and batch in PLM, by the way?

Both the UPCAT and the ACET are nerve wrecking. Each contains a different set of questions and categories that is why it is hard to say which is more difficult. But, the point is, which school is more difficult to get into? I guess, this should be a more appropriate question to ask. If that will be the question, then it would definitely be UP?

UP has over 88,000 applicants compared to Ateneo’s 9,000+. Of the 88,000++ that take the UPCAT, only 2,800 get into UP Diliman and 700 get into UP Manila. Of the 2,800 accepted to UP, 2,676 enroll 659 in UP Manila. Of the 9,000++ that take ACET, 1,800 are offered to enroll and only 990 actually enroll. Last year, over 11,000++ took the ACET. 2,000 were offered acceptance and a little over 1,400 enrolled. The end goal of Ateneo is to increase its student intake by a little less than half of its present intake so that by 2 years from now, Ateneo will be enrolling a minimum of 2,000 freshmen. When that comes, I’m sure it well make Katipunan Road a torment place to drive through.

So, kung nangangarap kang mag UP, dapat mikipag-compete ka with the other applicants sa batch mo at hindi lang basta pumasa – kasi nga ranking and UPCAT at ACET.

i took the UPCAT, ACET, and the entrance test for UST last year

honestly, nahirapan talaga ako sa UPCAT! grabe, nagulat na lang ako na merong Math and Science questions written in tagalog. hahah :D nalito ako doon. na-pressure pa ako sobra sa right minus 1/4 ng wrong questions... nagtira tuloy ako ng 24 blanks. namalasan pa kc nag-take ako ng UPCAT sa Business Administration Building... lamig grabe! nanginginig na kamay ko, ang sikip pa ^_^ yap... i reached the quota for UPLB... pero di ako na-accept sa UPD :shedtears:

ACET was fun! the time-pressure kept me from being nervous... it made me concentrate more on the exam. enjoy ako sa General information at Abstract reasoning, pero ang MATH, pamatay talaga! I passed! :rocker:

ACET was the most difficult entrance exam i took. i went crazy dahil sa time pressure, lalo na dun sa logic part, where you have to answer 20 or 30 questions ata in 5 mins. tama ba? i took the ACET '97. basta, sobra yung time pressure.

UPCAT was not as difficult as the ACET, but sobra akong na-pressure nung nakita ko yung dami ng taong kumukuha ng test! i remember pa yung tumbing (tupa+kambing) item sa medyo last part ng test.

La Salle test was the easiest for me. i remember my essay question was, "write a birthday letter to your friend" or something like that. hehe. funny yun.

eto ha, from hardest to easiest:

UPCAT! it was the first time that i have encountered tagalog science questions! e m not from a science high school! right minus wrong pa so hindi puwedeng manghula! ACET was relatively easy kasi walang science puro math and english lang... i like math kasi e...

i took DLSU, ADMU, UST, Mapua, APC exams...

ACET was the *****! hirap grabeh! but thank God i ***** :) but i didn't study there! that's one of my biggest mistakes! sobrang regret!

DLSU's test was kinda difficult din. the time was so bitin, the english reading comprehension part was difficult for me because i'm a slow reader. and also, i don't like the room, bulok, incomfortable. sa SJ xe eh. tapos may gwapo pa beside me kaya i keep staring at him!!!

UST's test...madali lang lang excluding the vocabularies part. never heard of those words nga eh. pero, i dunno y failed ako, e sus! i passed ateneo nga e! ewan...pa-RAFFLE lang ata sa kanila eh!!!!!!!!!

The entrance exam of Velez College, Cebu was the most difficult for me. La Salle Exam was just ok. The ACET was just easy.

The Ateneo Freshman Merit Scholarship before was based only sa ACET scores. I think the top 15% were called "merit scholars" already. They didn't really get actual scholarships (as in, libreng tuition and fees, etc) unless they applied for it. It was only in the Year 2000 that the Ateneo Freshman Merit Scholarship was awarded to the top 20 ACET takers (or top 15 pa nga ata nun), with full tuition and fees scholarship. Pero they considered pa high school grades, achievements, extra-curricular work, plus the interview. So...I'd only be impressed kung yung nagsasabing merit scholar sha e freshman nung school yr 2000-2001 and later...hehehe ;) :p

MeGha,

Okay ka lang ba? Wala akong sinabing mali sila. Have I?

Napaka babaw ng interpretation mo. Uulitin ko, "for me". Yon! Ok ka na?

But, wait a minute. Have you taken entrance tests in any universities in the Visayas and Mindanao?

To answer your question, No, I did not take any of the college entrance tests in the Visayas and Mindanao. Besides, why bother? I was pretty sure I can make it to one of the top three schools, why waste my time on senseless things, right? I wasn't desperate to take the entrance exams of far-flung universities. Just being pragmatic. And siyempre, I passed the UPCAT (Diliman), ACET and DLSU-CAT, so, there wasn't really a problem for me then. How bout you?

If you are smart enough to have been admitted in the UPCAT or ACET, why go into hasty conclusion that I meant people here in this thread are wrong when in fact I was only sharing what for me was the most difficult entrance test I have taken so far.

If you find the Visayas and Mindanao entrance tests senseless, it’s because you are not from these provinces and that you don’t have plans of studying here. It is the same reason why Americans never bothered to take the UPCAT when they want to go to Harvard.

You are senseless!!!

And, which stupid school have you been admitted? UP? I don't think so. I have high respects for the UPians and I know quite a number of them. They are extremely down to earth. Go find someone to believe your lies.

alj, don't worry about MeGha. She's just one of the clones of the original PEx and Atenean wusses, Lek-Lek and trickles19. Ah, where's trickles19? Banned? :)

Hey alj! In the first place, the reason why I commented on your post is the fact that you're not consistent. I saw in another thread that you made it in La Salle, but was simply waitlisted in the Ateneo. And it doesn't make sense to me for someone to find a test easier than another, when in fact, you actually made it in the latter. Now, I am not going to force you to believe me when I say that I made it to the Top 3 schools in the country, but given the chance, I'd like to slap you with my admissions letter from UP! I passed the ACET, well, did you?

And SUX2BU, what made you think that I'm a clone of Lek-Lek? Is it because of the IP? Well, if you haven't been in a dormitory with almost 250 computers all connected to a single network, then I'm very much inclined to believe in your mind's backwardness. Indeed, you're such an idiot.

I took 2 university entrance tests .. UPCAT and UST Entrance Exam. I find both entrance tests difficult. I didn't pass my 1st choice at UP (Biology, a quota course), but managed to pass the 2nd choice (HRM). I passed my first choice at UST (Biology also) and never bothered to look if I made it sa 2nd choice.
(I graduated from UST-Bio)

Hindi gano nakakatakot as others perceive it to be. Basta for every exam I take, I just pray .. kaya siguro majority of them, I passed

*okay*
