there's always something NEW to look forward to every year at DE LA SALLE UNIVERSITY - MANILA :) :) :) mapa-bagong building, new innovations in every department, new aquisitions ng library...galing...   makikita mo talaga kung saan napupunta ang pera ng mga estudyante at ng mga alumni/alumnae na nagdo-donate para sa ikauunlad ng pamantasan.

the tradition of academic excellence, religio, mores, and cultura will continue to live on.

uptowngirl: Aye, aye, madam!

It's true that we Ateneo dormers are lucky to have a nice view of the Marikina Valley. But the whole of the Ateneo campus is no less nice. With the exception of UP, I doubt any other school in Manila can boast of a very coozy surrounding, with all the trees well-maintained grass fields. We also have Fr. Nebres to thank for the landscapping wonders.

O hayan, uptowngirl, am I back in your good graces? http://www.pinoyexchange.com/lol.gif

In my campus, I'm proud of:

the people :D

1) my blockmates (proof that excellence is fostered if you put excellent people together)
2) the achievers in school: dean's listers, athletes, student leaders, student volunteers
3) the silent achievers: loving and caring friends who cheer you on
4) outstanding professors (e.g. Prof. Bombit Largoza)

Need I say more? =)

I'm from DLSU pero I'm proud of the high school I came from, which is De La Salle Zobel. There are many things I'm proud of in my school. One is the newly-built Performing Arts Center (the first of its kind in the south). It is a 1,000-seater theater which is comparable to the Meralco Theater and the AFP Theater. Next is the Cadlum Hall which houses the new basketball court, which has a wooden floor and electronic scoreboard. Another is the Brother Felix Masson Hall, which holds the classrooms from Prep to Grade 3. Each classroom has 5 computers which the students can use. Next is the new soccer field with the automated sprinklers. Another is the olypic-sized swimming pool. Tapos, lahat ng classroom may OHP. Ang dami pang iba. Basta "da best" talaga ang Zobel pagdating sa facilities. And I'm really proud of that cause no other school in the south even comes close when it comes to the facilities.

ANIMO LA SALLE!!!

unlike most schools, we don't have to suffer pollution because our campus bears trees and is very spacious. This explains why only few classrooms have aircon because we can enjoy the sweet cool breeze of fresh air unlike other schools in u-belt and TAFT whose buildings turned green because of the smoke coming from puv's, etc......

-Smart people (hindi puro damit at cellphones ang pinag-uusapan, minsan lang)
-TREES! TREES!
-may parking space kahit saan
-fishball and squidballs
-isaw sa tapat ng Kalayaan
-Film Center and UP Theatre
-Colleges na may sariling buildings (classrooms, canteen, cr, etc.)
-you'll get lost by the sheer size of the campus
-no pollution! (yosi lang)

in a nutshell, it's good food, nice people and cozy surroundings.

One of the characteristics of the UST campus I am very proud of is its overall ambience and scenery that instantly gives you a quick tour of four centuries of this institution's existence. Upon entering the UST gates, its like entering a time machine, wherein you are given a quick lesson on the glorious history of this venerable University.
Also, the following structures are noteworthy:

Arch of the Centuries
Fountain of Wisdom
Fountain of Knowledge
The classic Main Building
The Museum of Arts and Sciences-the former Paranimfa
The botanical garden
The statue of Fr. Benavidez- founder of UST
The statues on the Main bldg.- Saints, poets, & Philosophers
The pre-war UST GYM- a virtual sports history museum.
The St. Martin de Porres Bldg. or Medicine Bldg.
The UST Central Library
The statues of the Dominican Saints, including Lorenzo Ruiz
Colayco Park
The Fra Angelico Bldg.-Architecture & fine Arts
UST parade grounds & football field
The Tower and the Cross
Santo Tomas University Hospital
The enormous Anatomy Dissection Hall of the Faculty of Medicine & Surgery
The Talaang Pangangal at the Main Bldg.
Medicine & Education Auditoria
History of Medicine museum

As usual, Naingit na naman sa UST. Why don't you just stick to your campus. I pity you so much. This topic is so good, binaboy na naman ng isang taga DLRT. Talk about scenery!Tahimik na mga ingitero.

The best part of being a Thomasian was that, i was able to set foot on the Historic Grounds of UST! tama si real, once nakapasok ka sa USTe you would instantly feel na part ka na ng History of this Venerable Institution Who withstand all the challeges that came its way!:smokin:

Nung batch namin,The Benavidez Monument which is Bronze and ORIGINAL FROM THE OLD UST-INTRAMUROS Campus ang ginagamit to take class picture ngayon ba ganoon parin ba? syempre The Classic Main Building! ala Cambridge ang dating Enormous and Grand! diko makalimutan yung nakasulat sa taas nung Lady With The Cross "HAEC TRIO" meaning "Itong Tatlong ito" ito yung mga nakayukong statue na nakaturo sa HIstoric Clock of the Main Building!

And the Best part was the Famous Lover's Lane at the Back of the Arch of the Centuries!!! dun ko na meet ang gf ko upto now kami parin!! very romantic doon at sobrang lamig at daming trees!!! madilim parin ba doon?? we used to hangout doon with the Skully Brothers ng CE!! mga gwapings yan!!! kasi Evening ang Class ng Majoring ng CE sa USTe kaya sarap doon with all the dim lights and cool breez!!! may pangalan nga kami sa isa sa mga puno doon(baduy) pero talagang di ko makakalimutan ang UST Campus!!!

And with all the memories; I will FOREVER LOVE UST AND ALWAYS BE PROUD NA THOMASIAN AKO!!!! iba talaga pag college days mo sa USTe!:bashful: di kagaya ngayon work at kung sipagin aral ulit!

Ang UST Campus not too big na nagiging threat na ang security, at hindi rin naman maliit na parang nakakulong ang mga USTedyante! sarap talaga dyan with all the shady trees talagang "A BREATH OF FRESH AIR NGA ANG UST CAMPUS"

TO all THOMASIAN OUT THERE ENJOY THE UST CAMPUS for it is one of the BEST CAMPUS IN THE PHILIPPINES!!!!not only a campus for learning but a place where one can walk down memory lanes WHICH ONLY THIS 390 yr. old VENERABLE INSTITUTION OF QUALITY AND HIGHER LEARNING CAN OFFER!!!!

I would like to make known how proud I am to be a member of the Ateneo de Manila University community. In the main (Loyola Heights) campus of the Ateneo, there are numerous things that are rather noteworthy...

1.The gentle, rolling, grassy, tree-studded terrain -- a beautiful compliment to the blue and white sky. The whole campus feels so serene, so quiet, so peaceful, as if the world talks in hushed whispers and dances to the music made by birds singing.
2.The clean, fresh air and surroundings -- sure make anyone who steps into the campus feel at peace and in touch with nature.
3.The numerous fields -- aside from providing a beautiful view of the campus, the fields also allow for numerous activities to be conducted.
4.The Statue of the Sacred Heart -- a most welcoming image of Jesus Christ, with arms open as if ready to take you in (there is a campus legend that if one looks at the statue from the side when it is lit at night, one will see not Jesus' image but Mary's)
5.The Statue of St. Ignatius of Loyola -- an image of nobility and utmost Atenean character, spirit, and ideal... the generous offering of oneself for the greater glory of God.
6.The Statue of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph -- so aptly located in the Grade School, the statue reminds us of our roots... family.
7.The Statue of Mary -- an image of the Lady for whom Ateneans fight for... Mama Mary.
8.The Statue of the young Jose Rizal -- located in the High School, the statue reminds all of the beauty of youth, and of the greatest manifestation of true Atenean, true Filipino values... selflessness and self-sacrifice for one's fellowmen.
9.The Statue of St. Stanislaus Kostka -- a reminder to dedicate our lives to God even in our youth.
10. The Statue of St. Bellarmine -- another reminder of dedication to God and His greater glory.
11.The different buildings and hallways -- witnesses to heritage, to vibrant conversations, to learning, to growth, to that journey into God's light, to that unique Ateneo experience.
12.The Blue Eagle Gym -- a triumphant image of power, spirit, nobility, and gallantry, an image of the Ateneo spirit.
13.The Moro Lorenzo Sports Center -- one of the best sports training facilities in the country, boasting of an NBA all-star court, an indoor volleyball court, indoor track oval, weights and training rooms, accomodations, lockers, and so many other facilities. As the complex grows, so will the Ateneo's improvement in sports.
14.The chapels recollection centers, prayer rooms, and Jesuit residence -- places where one can get in touch with the more spiritual side of growing up.
15. (soon to come) The Church of the Gesu -- named after the Jesuit motherchurch in Rome, this Church will be a physical testament to the Ateneo's immersion in faith, excellence, and Filipino culture.

Very nice write-up. The first three (1-3) sound like lines from a Club Med advertisement; nevertheless, they accurately describe the general atmosphere in the Ateneo. The environment is truly relaxing, mind-opening, conducive to reflection and learning. The best!

For us Benildeans, we don't need to brag. Our resumés will speak for ourselves, our school, and our own achievements anyway.

Some may not be so proud, some may be disgustingly arrogant, some may be utterly indifferent, and most are superficial by nature, but it's enough that we belong to the minority of the Benildean Pride. We have been insulted, maligned, treated as inferiors to the socio-academic strata for years ... but it's enough that we have experienced Europe for ourselves - where we became known for our own intellect.

Our campus? With all due respect, JUDGE IT FOR YOURSELF. We encourage you to visit Angelo King International Center and our renovated LRC.

Perhaps, what the other universities and colleges don't have is a student paper which is considered the most respected and admired, best edited, and most of all, most awarded-- The Varsitarian. And its only here in UST. Only here.
Where else can you find a student paper which is world-class, and which has a rich roster of alumni (3 National Artists: F. Sionil Jose, J. Elizalde Navarro, Daisy Javellana; 2 Ramon Magsaysay awardees: Jose and Bienvenido Lumbera; Jullie Yap Daza, Bernardo Bernardo, Christina Pantoja-Hidalgo, Mario Hernando, and almost everybody in today's dailies)?
Where else can you find balanced news reportage, in both local and national (even international) arenas? Where can you find journalism with a heart, with much respect with tradition, truth and reason (as in St. Thomas' philosophy)?
The Varsitarian is one institution Thomasians should be proud of.

pagmamalaki ko sa campus ko, hindi yung bagong mga building (na di narin naman kailangan, dami na masyado), yung mga erkon-erkon, mga statwa etc.

Its the small things.

While you people boast of the material things in your campuses, ang mga tao sa campus ko, proud sa pagkain ng isaw, ng fishball, ng pagkain sa aristocarts. Proud sa environment, yung untouched, pristine parts ng campus like the garden, the trees, the lagoon (ok, di untouched ang lagoon).

Sa Campus namin, di mga building pinagmamalaki namin, yung CAMPUS mismo.

UP students as well as students of other state universities are called iskolar ng bayan because their education is subsidized by the government. (So technically, all UP studes are iskolar ng bayan. )

Question: Can CSB really accommodate 28 million students?

yes!!!

dude I think you got me wrong with that... we don't accomodate all of them in our school... we grant scholarships for the less fortunate ones... estimated 29M filipino students... some of them study from Benilde... some from LaSalle-Manila.. and other schools... not just La Salle schools... clear??

Aside from the modern facilities and superb infrastructure inside our campus (http://www.dlsu.edu.ph/inside/) (it's already given), one thing I like most about La Salle is its LOCATION. It's very accessible to almost all major business, cultural, and leisure sites in the metropolis. Makati is only 20-30 minutes away (depending on the traffic, and faster now because of the LRT and MRT). We're behind the Rizal Sports Complex, Harrison Plaza and the CCP/PICC. . Food is no problem because we're surrounded with a lot of restos. We're in the heart of MANILA... pretty close to the greatest art and cultural sites like the Rizal Park, the National LIbrary, Intramuros, the Binondo/Divisoria area and Quiapo. During the start of every trimester which is usually slow-paced (during breaks), we could afford to watch a movie in Glorietta because it's near and we could divide the taxi fare. And in terms of gimmicks, we're very near the Malate area...and just a couple of minutes away from bars in Makati and Roxas Blvd. It's really a plus. Not only that. From the buildings of our campus we view the dirty, traffic-laden, beggar-rich and smoky Taft Avenue...giving us a glimpse of the harsh realities and challenges in life that we'll face after graduation. Lasallians will agree with me.

I'm proud of the pollution in Taft most specially that in front of De La Salle. I'm proud of the peddlers and thugs, the jeepneys and buses, dust and flood and even the mamang may taklob sa ulong naglalakad sa Taft.

These always remind me that theres a lot of things to do. Its better that way para hindi ako nakukulong sa isang perpektong mundo at lumaking bulag sa ganong klase ng mundo, para lamang magulat paglabas ko sa pag-aaral.

I'm proud of De La Salle's location, being situated in Malate, Manila. I can feel the history of the place from town once called Maalat during the pre-Spanish era to the booming upscale and residental paradise that it was during the pre-WW2 era. Even the LS building is full of history. The blood and bullets that literally went through it, ewan. Mahilig kasi ako sa history. Sure we dont have fields of green grass but we have walls that tell stories of a glorious past and constantly reminds us of what have been sacrificed for us Lasallians.

And of course, lastly, as all Lasallians would agree, I'm proud of our facilities and the thinking and efforts behind them. Everythings so systematic. We are the first to have ID scanners, after non halos lahat sumunod. And our IDs even freed us from using old Library Cards. Then we have the Library chutes that makes it easy for student to return their books without going to the library. May ganon ba ang iba? Parang wala. And, pardon me for being trivial but we even have sensors in our banyos before it became widely used in upscale malls and hotels. Natawa pa nga ako to realize na shi.t, sensor pala yon, when I used the urinal. Non ko palang kasi nakita yon e.

Everything everything everything that La Salle Manila has in its campus, I'm definitely proud of. Compact and highly useful.

La Salle Manila doesnt need hectares of useless grass to train and inspire young minds.

- olympic-size swimming pool (primarily for students' use)

- numerous beautiful gazebos where students can stay during vacant periods

- dormitory for men & women, a student center, a well-stocked library

...because students here were interesting, friendly, hardworking, beautiful, and perhaps not-so-intelligent as others(as other people would think, but they're wrong!), but we have good brains, definitely....

also, i consider my school having the best environment... meaning very secured and well developed, even not the largest of all.

wev'e got the best teachers, modern-equipped classrooms, first class facilities, recognized organizations, and the best multidisciplinary programs that the school offers..

comment? none, of course! no matter where we study, i know we were very proud where we belong now...

minus the squatters near the rail tracks, ours have the following:

1. 2 very long catwalks...i think ito yata ang pinakamahabang catwalk sa isang university
2. olympic sized swimming pool
3. track and field oval
4. lagoon...o san naman kayo nakakita ng university na may lagoon sa loob ng campus...na nagiging lovers' lane pagsapit ng gabi..hehehe..
5. amphitheatre
6. very green surroundings...yes, it's like an oasis in the heart of polluted and busy manila...

syempre pa...gilid ng ilog pasig...hahaha...yan walang tatalo dyan..san ka nakakita ng university na may sariling station ng ferry??? aber???....hehehe...

..di makahula papupuntahin ko sa ilog pasig....hehehe..
