Back in highschool, I had to because they gave us a long exam on it. If we didn't do good, bawas sa conduct grade.
As for college, merely skimmed over it.

In high school we were told to memorize the handbook by heart. On the very first day of class, we were told to memorize our Alma Mater song, the lyrics of which can be found at the back of the handbook. Besides that, our principal was an old priest who seemed to always have a sore tooth. He would corner students in the corridor just to know whether they've read the handbook or not. I pity those who spent hours in his office doing all sorst of errands, just because they forgot a line or two from the handbook.
In college, I just read the rules on absences, tardiness, and grade requirement. ;)

It's really funny kase during college we had a subject during our first term called seperde w/c required us to know PART of the Handbook...pero yung basahin siya talaga, never had the patience to read it through the end...sheesh....
but just a few weeks ago, with nothing to do, i actually found it in my room and started reading it...page to page...ay naku...
now, when i think about it...hhhhmmmmm.... http://www.pinoyexchange.com/blush.gif

On the very first day when the teacher hand out the handbook, I just slip it in my bag and forget it until the end of the school year na. The very first week after school is out I probably sit around my room cleaning my bag and flipping through few pages of my handbook and see baka meron naka insert na impotant things inside.... usually wala coz I never bother with it....hehe..:p

Yup! I'm proud I did read the students handbook thoroughly, lalo na yung discipline part. Since high school until graduate school, matiyaga kong siyang binasa. At least, in reading the student handbook, you would know a lot of things about your school - grade requirements, discipline, school activities, et al.
