Based on the feedback we got way back, the students prefer reading the "VUISITARIAN" over the "VARSITARIAN." The comments you have made, guys, simply reaffirm the sentiments of students even years ago. There's a big clamor to publish more "VUISI" than "VARSI." :)

I'm not a Thomasian, but I salute the Pontifical U for having a student paper like The Varsitarian. I believe that it's one of the best campus papers in town (side by side with The Philippine Collegian). Unlike the Collegian though, The Varsitarian rarely gets involved with national issues but then, I commend them for coming up with an excellent campus paper. Its news features are highly relevant, facts are accurate and up-to-date (even Ateneo's Guidon and DLSU's The LaSallian and Pahayagang Plaridel contain factual innacuracies), punctuations and word spellings are perfect, there is no argument when it comes to grammar. Past issues of The Varsitarian are also excellent sources for serious researchers.

The Varsitarian, the official student publication of the University of Santo Tomas, is calling all Thomasians with inclination towards literary writing to be part of the 23rd Ustetika.

Interested Thomasians may get application forms from the Varsitarian Office, Room 105, Tan Yan Kee Student Center.

Submit application forms together with four copies of the manuscript (Arial, size 12, double-spaced), and a photocopy of the registration form, a soft copy of manuscript in CD, and a certification of originality signed by two English or Filipino professors.

All requirements should be submitted in short brown envelop not later than November 17.

For inquiries, call the Varsitarian office at 406-1611 local 8235 and look for Ms. Myla Jasmine U. Bantog (0915-2007879) or Richard U. Lim (0917-2750212).

i beg to disagree...you don't need connections to get published. kaya nga may publicity committee e.

during my time (i chaired 4th and 5th inkblots)...we tapped print, media, radio and web. we went as far as guesting in almost all radio stations, news magazine shows, and events of other university (ateneo lunduyan and uap-hpair) to reach a number of audience.

and we succeeded. don't blame connections.

5 months po ang preparasyon sa inkblots. june pa lang kumakatok na kme nun sa mga pintuan ng mga pahayagan. araw-araw na pangungulit at pagsisikap ang ibinuhos ng lahat ng organizing committees para maisapubliko ang isang pambansang pagtitipon.

nakakalungkot lang isipin na hindi na naitutuloy ang ningning ng isang napakalaking pagdaraos na ito dahil lamang sa sinasabing kakulangan ng koneksiyon.

hindi ako nanghuhusga. nagtatanong lang. medyo hindi ko lang matanggap ang paliwanag. gayunpaman, masaya ako't nagpapatuloy pa rin ang mga tradisyon at patuloy pang nadaragdagan.

Wag na po kayo mag-away, mga V staffer pa naman tayo...okay? ahm, siguro nga po ay may pagkukulang ang publicity commitee ng Inkblots '07 pero hindi ko po kayang magsalita ng tapos at tuwiran dahil kapapasok ko palang na staff. Pagpasok ko, sakto, 3days nalang Inkblots na kaya hindi ko kayang magsalita kung may mali nga sila o wala. Pero sinabi talaga sa'min ni Sir Lito na medyo 'ilag' and media sa UST dahil sa kakulangan nito ng presensiya sa media. Yun lang, pero inaayos naman ito sa pamamagitan ng pagsuyo sa kanila na kahit sa simpleng 'cake' na bigay lang o anupaman. Kaya peace na po kayo? okay :)
