If I recall my Ateneo history correctly, unlike the other religious orders in the Philippines, it was the Jesuits whose land was taken from them during the suppression of their order in 1773, when they were expelled from Spain and her colonies in 1822, and suppressed again in 1851.

The Jesuits were only asked to return to the Philippines in 1852, and established the Ateneo in 1859. They never got any of their land back.

Hanggang ngayon, puro regalo at pahiram ang lupa ng mga Heswita sa Pilipinas.

Please know what you are talking about before making any callous and insensitive statements about people you clearly know and care nothing about.
