CEU grads top the Dentistry Board Exams.
La Salle & UP grads top the CPA Board exams.
La Salle & UP grads top the various Engineering Board Exams
UP & Ateneo grads top the Bar Exams
UP grads top the Medicine Board Exams
UP grads top the Occupational Therapist Board Exams
Why can't UST grads seem to TOP any Board or Bar Exams nowadays? Is it because of its quality of grads or is it because of its quality of education given?

UST should try to improve its selectivity of its college students. UST seems to favor quantity over quality thats why it cannot seem to compete with the other universities in the Bar & Board Exams.

Many factors contribute to this:
1. Comparatively Lower Quality of Students as compared to the TOP 3
2. Lack of Topnotch professors due to UST's lower salary scale
3. Inadequate and outmoded facilities and equipment

There are a lots of factors which contribute to UST grads' inability to top any Bar or Board Exams nowadays. The quality of its examinees is one big factor.

The MAIN reason why UST grads can't seem to Top any Board or Bar Exams is because UST's expenditure per student is VERY LOW due to its low tuition fees charged per student.
Thus in the process the UST students are not given the best professors possible and best facilities/equipment possible.

i think it also depends on the review that they get. http://www.pinoyexchange.com/thinker.gif

Well, topping the board exams entirely depends on the MOTIVATION of the examinee and a lot of luck! If he's deadset on topping the exams, he/she will review very hard. (I heard even other schools give support to their "potential" board topnotchers by sending them to very good review schools.)
I have one very good friend from UST pharmacy. He took the board exams in pharmacy (immediately after graduation) without going through any kind of review because he told me he just wants to pass the test, plain and simple. He doesn't care whether he tops it or not. He might not have topped the exams or landed in the top 20 highest scores but the fact is, he passed!
Bottomline is, motivation.

Maybe UST's move to give cash incentives to its Bar or Board examinees is the answer. But then again how come the other Universities see no need to give cash incentives.

Why is everyone so focused on bar topnotchers? It's the passing rates that should be looked at, not who the number one is. The passing rate is a better gauge for a school's quality of education.

Passky was kind enough to furnish us with data that refutes the topic.
I quote,
Source: The Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC) Report:
"The University of Santo Tomas is the Philippines' top private university based on its performance in Board examinations from 1994-1998, placing second only to the state-run University of the Philippines-Diliman. During this period, UST recorded 12 board examinations with the highest passing rates (on average): Nursing-99%; Medicine-94%; PT-86%; Electronics and communications Engineering 84%; Electrical Engineering - 80%; Civil Engineering 76%; Medical Technology 75%; Mechanical Engineering 64%; Accountancy 32%; Elementary Teachers 93%; Secondary Techers 92%; Nutrition Dietetics 83%."
Grace Dy, a summa cum laude graduate of UST recently topped the Medical Licensure examinations, Joseph Tee, a cum laude graduate topped the PT Licensure examination; Jimmy Bersamin topped the Nursing licensure examinations. In the other licensure examinations, most UST graduates placed either 2nd, 3rd, or within the top 20 places.
