i can tell you 1 reason why you should stay in cs:
pagka-graduate mo madami ka mapapasukang trabaho.
kaya don't give up. enjoy college life and enjoy learning new things. :D

It's something you really have to think about. On one hand CS seems to be a promise of quick, easy money after a bit of an investment - physics isn't exactly a piece of cake, and although calculus can be fun it's also difficult. Although e-commerce is starting to get really big and computers seem to be a sure ticket to fame and fortune (or at least a decent income), don't believe all the hype.
Is there a course you'd like more?
So many people go into CS for parents, for friends, for money, or just for the heck of it. Nothing's wrong with that; a lot of people graduate and get good jobs here or abroad. But there's a difference between just doing something for the money or doing it because you love to do it.
CS is going to get pretty hard in the next few years, and when you get out in the real world I hear it's similarly difficult; not as easy as people would have us believe. If you're thinking about shifting out of CS, don't worry - it's not being chicken. But it's not all torture, either; there will be times that you'll feel pride and fulfillment, and when you graduate you will definitely be in demand.
Explore your options. I'm not sure if you can shift in the middle of a sem, so you might as well stick it out and make the best of it. =) Ask around.
In the meanwhile; hey, if you're having difficulties with CS110 and your other subjects, you can always ask for help. =) Like in Physics, I've found that working with blockmates makes the orniest problems easier to solve. Everyone's willing to help. -g- Good luck!

this is because we are in the "computer" age....basta ganon .......
& why include math, physics & tons of calculus in your CS subjects? it is simply because that they are the foundation of computers...you know, binary, etc....
just do your best, you'll be liking CS in the end..lalo na pag kumikita ka na......tyagaan lang yan jean....
& CS is a big world...has lots of fields too....

If you don't love your course, why insist?

hey, im not here to convince you to stay with your course or to change it. i just want to share some piece of my mind.
first, i just want to ask you: why did you choose that course in the first place?
if you really want your course, no matter how difficult your subjects are, you'll do something about it...because your heart and your mind is in it.
however, i can sense some kind of dissatisfaction with your course because of the difficult subjects.
i would advise you to rethink your priorities. what do you want to become? what do you really like? don't force yourself to be in something you don't like at all...you'll really see sufferings in it.
however, as ive said, if you want to endure all those difficulties because you want your course, go ahead! may the force be with you!!!
i guess the answer to your question will only come from you. those ten or so answers will all depend on you.
i may not have answered your question, but i hope i helped you somehow...

ive gone through those hell subjects and di sa tinatakot kita...marami pang dadating.
pero one thing lang siguro ang maa-assure ko...yung security ng future mo.
there are a lot of opportunities out there na related sa ating mga cs students.
a cousin of mine was a graduate of legal mgmt. di ba sobrang layo sa cs pero she ended up in software ventures at nagaaral na ng computer stuff.
some of those who shifted out from cs had regrets dahil sayang. naggive up sila agad.
personally, nahihirapan ako sa cs. my dad asked me once kung nagsisisi ako. sabi ko anjan na yan eh. ayokong pagsisihan. pero totoo naman eh. i dont regret my decision to stay in this course.
if you're having some problems, marami jan na puedeng hingan ng tulong. samantalahin mo yung consultation hrs ng teachers mo at magpaturo ka. at, anjan naman yung mga classmates mo eh and upperclassmen. im sure they're all willing to help.

... dati ang mga technical people and mga bida (in terms of being important in the company) ...
... now, its the people with the selling skills - may PR baga ... who are treated with more importance ...
... i believe that these skills are never defined ONLY by specific courses ... yes, these courses makes it easier and faster to learn (probably) these skills ... pero lahat yan natututunan ...
... i suggest na pagnata-traffic ka, pag-isipan mo maige kung ano talaga ang gusto mo maging - looking forward to N number of years ... then try to resolve your dilemma from there ...
... CS is great (having a wide array of options after graduation), pero may buhay din sa ARTS or sa ibang non-technical courses ... in the IT age, kahit ARTS puwedeng i-apply sa mundo ng IT, i.e. probably sa web development ...
yun lang ...

To answer your question --- because it is very much in demand right now, and the career opportunities are endless!
.... BUT.... if you dont like it, dont force yourself. Its not worth it.
