I am an Atenean and I highly respect UST. Two officemates of mine here in Fort Lauderdale, Florida are UST-bred and are really intelligent and good people. They graduated from the business school of UST and are now working as highly-paid financial analysts.

As for the courses, UST is not only well-known for its medicine and science courses but also good in the fields of journalism, architecture, fine arts, philosophy, literature, engineering, economics, music, accounting, canon and civil law.

UST only need a good PR-Work and they can regain the image that belongs to UST! the University which will turn 400 in 2011!

The Faculty of Civil Law also good a number of Politicians and Public servant are alumni of this faculty, having produced 4-Philippine Presidents, 6-Supreme Court Chief Justice! and a handful of Mayors, Senators and Congressman, Supreme Court Justices, Comelec Chair! ..... and many more!
It is also considered by Ched as the Third Best Law School in the Country next to UP&Ateneo.... even in the Bar exam UST passing rate is always competitive with UP & Ateneo! the only problem is that the orientation is different in UST-Law its Passing the Bar; In UP&Ateneo its topping the bar that's why UST-Law is not given much buzz unlike UP&Ateneo!

UST is THE BEST in Medicine!!!

During my time, even UP Professors say UST is the best in Psychology since our curriculum is more in-depth when it comes to Psychological testing, which includes the Projective tests. We have one entire subject dedicated to Rorschach Testing and we even have Psychoanalysis. I dunno what changes they have in their curriculum now but back then, even UP professors say we were the best in Psychology. :)

There are six majors in the faculty of engineering. 5 of which are under level 2 status as centers of dev't. ECE is the only COE in engineering... and this is my course. ;) :cool:

i think we are next to UP when it comes to schools having the most COEs :)

Of course! Thomasian physicians are highly esteemed locally and internationally... but is it not that Dr. Tyrone Bautista is supposed to be Dr. Tyrone Reyes, the husband of Dr. Ofelia Reyes, one of the pillars of Rehabilitation Medicine in our country.

And who else can forget Dr. Gregorio A. Moral. Not only was he known as an internist but he was also a Carlos Palanca awardee. :handsdown:

Dr. Bobby Anastacio, likewise...but I don't think Dr. Vicky Bello is an alumnus of the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Medicine and Surgery.

Fernando,I'm a product of UST Archi,just to add dun sa prominent grads ng CA(ex CAFA): National Artist Leandro Locsin,Francisco Manoza,Carlos Santos Viola,Gabriel Formoso,Engacio Mariano etal. Trivia: Did you know that the first Dean of UP Archi,Dean Jugileon(pardon the spelling)was from UST?
