For me, Management Engineering is a very interesting and up-to-date course. I think only Ateneo offers this course? Correct me if i'm wrong. :p

\_`{}[]^-: I believe you're right. I think Ateneo is the only university offering this course. But I thought it's just a different term for Industrial Engineering.

What do you guys think? :)

Ateneo's Management Engineering ACTUALLY is a MISNOMER since it is NOT an engineering course at all but rather a management course with more math subjects in it. For one thing it's curriculum lacks the engineering core subjects which would qualify it as an Engineering course.

Thus it should not be confused with Industrial Engineering which is a REAL Engineering course since its curriculum includes the basic engineering subjects COMMON to all Engineering Courses.

lorenzo, thanks for shedding some light on the topic. I honestly didn't know that. I always thought ME and IE were the same. :)

I think they are functionally the same course. UP chooses to place more emphasis on the technical/engineering side of the course while Ateneo stresses the management/humanities aspect of it.

If you want to take up:

1. Engineering
2. Commerce/Business/Management
3. Accounting
4. Communication Arts
5. LIACOM
6. Computer Science
7. Pre-Med(Human Biology)
8. Mathematics
9. Physics
10. Chemistry
11. Biology
12. Teacher Education

Take it in DLSU-Manila since it is the BEST university to take these courses in the Philippines.

It should be ENGINEERING for me...

Three schools of Choice:

1. UP
2. UST
3. DLSU

Mapua could be 4th or in my list but their facilities are no longer at par with the best, reason for their decline in the 90's. But I would say the students are still studious and intelligent, at matiisin. Buti na lang and they were already bought by the Yunchengco group and hopefully vast improvement will be realized soonest. Sayang naman ang tradition nila for Engineering Excellence. Di ba?
