I always see threads like, Ateneo won, UP won... e.

No. ateneo didn't win although it's a customary for that trying-hard school to send out representatives in international competitions. They always join yet they always lost! In effect, they're giving the Philippines a bad image. Let's all joint force to stop this kawalanghiyaan ng naging habit ng ateneo. nababoy nila ang academic related contest sa buong mundo. Yikes!!!! Nakakahiya talaga ang mga Atenista.

ka level na ba natin ang Chulalangkorn, NUS? HKUST? U of Malaya? :naughty:
UP, yes. In fact, it’s already a member of the prestigious, APRU. http://apru.nus.edu.sg/
Group of powerhouse universities located in Asia-Pacific. Mahigpit ang criteria ng APRU. Hindi basta-basta maging member. http://apru.nus.edu.sg/about/members.htm

DLSU, malapit na. UST, malaki ang chance. UA&P, they're doing their best. Ateneo, no chance at all. they've been around for more than a hundred years pero, wala pa rin. bulok pa rin. mayabang ang sinungaling pa ang mga nag-aaral doon and to think, values oriented daw yung skul-bukol na yon.

Here's a partial list of ATENEO's achievements in debating competitions. The 2004 and 2005 data are not updated.

For 2005, we already know the Ateneo once again won the Jessup Moot Court competition and will represent the Philippines in the International competition. Ateneo will defend the crown as the reigning world champion.

Filipinos are said to be really good in debating. Proof of this were the recent honours won by Ateneo and Up debating teams in various international competitions. Schools such as UST, San Beda and DLSU also have top caliber debating teams that our country can truly be proud of.

Very impressive performance by Ateneo, the best in debating.
Let's hope the others emulate Ateneo's stellar performance.
Congratulations!

Several years ago, I actually witnessed an Ateneo debating team beat the representatives of my school, UC Berkeley. I must admit the team from Ateneo was impressive.

Stirling: Ba't galit na galit ka sa Ateneo?
Hindi naman siguro masama kung i-ennumerate nung tao ang achievements nung eskuwelahan niya since 1990 di ba? Only goes to show na hindi naman pala sila nakakahiya or binababoy ang Pilipinas, di ba?

Ang dami din namang achievements ng UP at saka ng ibang universities. Ipost mo rin nga, para maprove natin na hindi naman kulelat ang pinoy pagdating sa debate.

^ Dude, you shouldn't have mentioned the fact that the Ateneo currently ranks #4 in the world. Even is it's true, you'll make the competition feel more inferior. Sobra na nga pagka-insecure as it is. That's why Ateneo, the "Harvard, MIT and Oxbridge of Asia" is a popular target of the bashers in PEx, especially those from Warwick (kuno). :naughty2: :spinstar:
