well, i guess it's all a matter of principle.
what we truely need is a clearer understanding of what each party represents and what each party/organizations main purpose of existing. Both parties are credible in it's own right. the problem i think i see right now is the deviation of our focus from being student leaders to becoming pawns of our own egoist interests. i think the whole point is missed out all together. instead of engaging in worth while exchanges of ideas, the party and parties go through a whole lot of verbal jousts, agitations and other petty ordeals. if we really want this quarel to end, then we must focus on our principles as organizations, as a party, and as a student leader instead of corrupting each ones reputation.

sibol has been participating in the csb elections for the last 3-4 years and i can safely say that we have always aimed for a clean and peaceful elections..if u check the records (even sa d.o.) wala pang tiga sibol na nanggulo tuwing elections, walang record sa comelec na may tiga sibol na nag-attempt mag cheat during the elections..we have always tried to maintain a sense of decorum during the elctoral procedure kahit na kaliwat-kanan ang paninira sa amin..literally iniiyak nalng namin yung exasperation at frustrations namin..even if we had all the reasons and evidences to create havoc in the csb campus, we DID NOT INDULGE OURSELVES IN DOING THAT..so at least give us some credit for that :)
BNG if u chose to transfer to blp, then that's ur decision :)..goodluck.. :)

ya i agree with you..last march's election was just way too brutal and violent
a memeber of sibol was sexually harassed, more than 3 sibol members (including me) were verbally threatend, a group of supporters were threatened with expulsion by another group, a mother of one of the candidates of sibol nearly suffered a heart attack because of a malicious phone call(and we now know who did it)...
and even up to this very day, we are still experiencing the after effects of that elections..
in fact, no joke, one of our members had a tragic miscarriage just very recently.. all the things written about sibol(here in pinoy exchange) and its members was just way beyond the category of below the belt for that particular member(add to that the fact that the elected sibol candidates are treated with disrespect and discourtesy in the student council) that hours after reading the forum on pinoyexchange, she was rushed to the hospital coz she was bleeding na..too much hurt and stress the doctor said..if u want to check this call up makati med and inquire about june 8, 2000..
this whole thing is not to gain ur sympathy..it is just to show u how much this whole thing has affected sibol..okay lang matalo..it a fact of life that we had accepted way before pa..ang mahirap e yung nag momove on ka na pero gusto ka pang tapakan ng tumalo sa yo..
sibol's biggest mistake is tha the whole group kept quiet..if we said everything we knew, if we had told the whole truth, the real picture, then regardless of the outcome, we would have felt resolved at the least..
but then we chose the path of keeping quiet and we decided ot play it as clean as possible and just focus on our PROGRAMS..all because we thought that our fellow students deserved more than just rumor-mongering and character assasination..

UP TO THIS VERY DAY WE STILL STAND BY THAT..that our fellow benildeans deserve quality, service-oriented servant-leadership..

BLP might be a new political party but the people behind it are not.

Sibol is a known political party and your right you've been here long enough but if you really know that, then why do you have to lower yourself and make patol with the BLP,
I believe that if your organization is already known for a good service and leadership then why do you have to give the BLP the chance to affect you and give you insecurities.

If you believe that sibol is the best then that’s fine but by destroying person’s credentials and using other means of Character Assassination is a no no, that shows insecurity.

The question of "WHO STARTED IT ALL" is I think, no longer important for this matter. I remember reading a moderator's comments and I have to admit, she has a good point. We are all responsible for our actions and if an outsider reads a very nasty remark made by a Benildean, we can't blame them to judge us the negative way. Besides, SINO LANG BA ANG MAGTUTULONG-TULUNGAN? BENILDEANS LANG DI BAGA? Yes, we are here and we are all free to express our own opinions..mapa-mabuti o mapasama. I think we've ignored the RESPONSIBILITIES attached with the FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION. So what happened next, BOTH sides have experienced the HARM inflicted by character assassination of sorts.

Student elections have the purpose OF CHOOSING THE PEOPLE WHOM WE DEEM FIT TO LEAD THE BENILDEAN STUDENTS SO THEY CAN ADDRESS WHATEVER LEGITIMATE CONCERN WE HAVE, promoting healthy competition between parties and of course, GOOD SPORTMANSHIP. As from how I see it, some of us (I can readily admit that I was one of them) have failed to remind ourselves of ETHICS involved in Student politics. Since the winners have tasted the sweetness of victory, THEY SHOULD OWE IT TO THE STUDENTS FOR HAVING WON THEIR POSITION. They SHOULD STILL REMAIN HUMBLE in all situations (whether student-interactions or class participation)BECAUSE THEY ARE THE PUBLIC SERVANTS OF THE STUDENT POPULATION; THEY SHOULD NEVER FLAUNT NOR IMPOSE THEIR VICTORY to the students, especially to their former competitors. I CAN AGREE WITH ONE COMMENT, THEIR SOLE PURPOSE IS TO SERVE AND BEING IN POWER IS A HUGE RESPONSIBILITY. Abuse and ego-tripping towards their former competitors is definitely OUT of the list. Words to live by in politics: YOU WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO SERVE WELL IF YOUR REPUTATION GOT TAINTED and did nothing to clear your name out of the mess; if you have a tainted reputation and you pursued the program that you think benefits the majority, there is a big possibility that people won't believe your good motives. A TAINTED REPUTATION CAN ALWAYS LEAD TO THE EVENTUAL DEMISE OF THE PEOPLE'S CONFIDENCE TO YOUR NAME.

You should also consider that NOT ALL in your side (as in 100%) have kept quiet about the issue. Keeping silent yourselves SHOULD'VE NOT BEEN LIMITED TO THAT. I'm sure that anyone from both sides have heard that your people have been bad-mouthing the people from the other party. So had there been an EXERTED EFFORT TO CURB THEIR HOSTILE WORDS FROM SPREADING? WAS THERE ANYONE WHO NEVER TOLERATED THE SPREAD OF RUMORS COMING FROM BOTH SIDES, THUS PUTTING A STOP TO THESE HARSH VERBAL CONFRONTATIONS? Hindi naman kase pagpapaka-martir, pagpapaka-hipokrita o pagpapaka-plastic yung pagpigil ng mga masasamang salita e. IT'S ALL ABOUT CURBING THE GROWTH OF A PREDICTABLE POTENTIAL CONFLICT WITH BOTH SIDES. but what will that achieve, right?maresolve man yung case o hindi, tuloy tuloy pa rin ang harassment at rumor-mongering against us..and quite frankly, nakakapagod na rin..if u read my posted reply, madami na sa amin ang nasaktan, to say the least..
fyi, sibol is not insecure..we know where we stand right now..in fact, we find it so hilarious that we are treated as if we such imposing threats.. :)

first of all, salamat sa sinabi mo..it takes alot of humility to do what u did..sana ikaw nalang ang tumakbo because we need people like u in csb.. :)
u asked why we didnt tell the truth? well here goes....
1)if we had told the truth, then certain people would have been surely expelled from school...
2)if we had told the truth,certain employees of csb would have been surely terminated...
3)if we had not cooperated (for the sake of the csb students) then wala sanang s.c. officers ngayon...there were alot fo unresolved comelec cases against both sibol and blp..those would have been enough to warrant a failure of elections..the election turnout was barely 32% and certain quarters refused to sign a memorandum of agreement that validated the election (fyi, sibol signed that MOA)..
3)if we had told the truth, certain lives would have been destroyed..we are talking about families, innocent children who would have been greatly affected if we decided to be capricious about what we really knew...

that my dear is the burden of proof that sibol carried and is still carrying up to this day...we all decided that the price was to steep...we wanted to win so that we could serve our fellow students..but not at the expense of ruining lives of people who are are just indirectly involved in this fiasco...it would have been grossly unfair, dont u think? even if the people in sibol are reputed to be evil and all that, may puso naman kami at di naman siguro ganun kahalang ang bituka namin..

hey guys and gals! I'm a member of Sibol and I know what happened last March during the elections eventhough most of the time I was in practice. I know that some of the members of Sibol were emotionally hurt by what was said about them and I also know about the group who was threatened by the other party's members. There were so many harrasments that happened last March. Sibol members did cry about it in their tambayan. Tama si Supreme Goddess. Iniyak nalang ng mga taga Sibol ang mga nangyayari. I don't know what is up with you guys at the other party. Grabe, kung ano ano nalang ang ginagawa ninyo and kung ano ano nalang ang mga sinasabi kahit na tapos na lahat. How the hell can we have peace between the two parties when this type of thing is still happening??? I don't know! I really don't know. Bahala kayo sa buhay ninyo! GO SIBOL!

i think it moot and academic to discuss who did what to whom..kasi eventually people will find out the truth..makikita naman natin kung sino ang totoong nagtatrabaho at kung sino ang puro politika at usap lang...
at sa yo BNG..hinay hinay ka sa salita mo kasi u dont know even one fourth of what u are talking about....and i know exactly who u were referring to...dont even dare malign the character of the head of (---)...i dont think u would ever achieve what this person has achieved for the betterment of the school..
i agree with u bugz..its time everyone buries the hatchet..but a SINCERE AND HONEST INITIATIVE SHOULD COME FROM THE INCUMBENT..PERO ANG NANGYAYARI ATA E THE EXACT OPPOSITE...

Peace? Bakit? peace naman kami ng mga friends ko from BLP. :) I have some really good friends there and friends kami before pa naging BLP sila. It's just that I can't stand some people there na nagfe feeling marunong sa Student Council, hindi naman. Feeling they can change the school, la naman nangyayari. As for the things that happened during the March elections, I know na sobrang gulo and dirty nun, I was there kaya. Even my org. got affected by what was happening. Hay naku, wag na nga kayong masyadong feeling and do something to make Benilde better. Wag na maraming salita, gawa nalang! I guess, we have to wait and see nalang what the BLP combined with the 2 SIBOL people can do this year. Good Luck!
