CBE students top nationwide competitions
Students of the College of Business and Economics recently reaped awards in the following nationwide competitions: Agora Youth Awards, 3rd ENEDA Young Entrepreneurs’ Summit (Y.E.S.), and Negotiorum Lex-Legal Management Quest for the Best.
AGORA YOUTH AWARDS
Marketing Management students Aislinn Gail Chuahiock, Mario Francisco Lozano, and Chris Gabriel were named Outstanding Marketing Students during the Philippine Marketing Association (PMA) 2005 Agora Youth Awards. They bagged three out of the seven major awards. The awarding was held last February 23 at the Philippine Stock Exchange Building in Ortigas Center. More than 150 students participated in this annual nationwide competition.
The Agora Youth Awards also acknowledged the best student marketing associations in the country. DLSU-Manila’s Junior Entrepreneurs’ Marketing Association (JEMA) was awarded best organization in the National Capital Region and was included in the list of Top 5 Student Marketing Associations.
The PMA established the Agora Youth Awards to recognize the best and the brightest Filipino marketing students today.
3rd ENEDA YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS' SUMMIT
The “Pinoy Maki” project of Business Management (BMG) students Christina Cheng, Warner Lee, Melissa Joy Ong, Clarissa Candice Uy, and Danna Kathleen Uy received several awards at the 3rd Eneda Young Entrepreneurs’ Summit held last February 24.
The project won 1st Prize in the Food Category, 1st Prize in Best Company’s Website, and 2nd Prize in Best Oral Defense.
Several other projects of BMG students received various citations. Bubblin’ Balls by Kristel Chuateco, Clarissa Francisco, Jollie Lim, Amit Lalwani, and Irmgard Costes was the 2nd Prize Winner in the Non-Food Category and 3rd Prize Winner in Best Oral Defense. Mood Creators by Erlyn Austria, Athena Cruz, Joseph Hizon, and Christian Uy received 3rd Prize honors in Service. Meanwhile, the FASH Wallet by Martin Custodio, Andro Quimpo, Luis Antonio Santos, Victor Valeriano, and Miguel Yango won the 2nd Prize in the Novelty Category.
Y.E.S. is an annual project of the Entrepreneurship Educators’ Association of the Philippines (ENEDA). It recognizes the best business projects of students all over the country highlighting the entrepreneurial spirit of young Filipinos.

Meanwhile, a team of Legal Management students won first place in the “Negotiorum Lex-Legal Management Quest for the Best,” an Inter-School Legal Management Quiz Bowl held last February 24 at the Far Eastern University Auditorium. Members of the team are Glaiza Po (IV PSM-LMG), Hasminah Paudac (III LMG), Mary Jane Go (I LMG).
