say my pc has USB1.1 and i buy a USB2.0 mp3 player, gagana ba yun?

yup. but it will be set to USB 1.1 speeds during music transfers from the PC to the player.

Yes, USB 2.0 is backwards compatible with USB 1.1, although the performance will be much slower. If you can, it may be a worthwhile investment in getting a USB2.0/Firewire Combo card. :)

Best to buy a USB 2.0 card; USB 1.1 maxes out at 12 mbps; USB 2.0 can hit speeds of 480 mbps. This makes a very big difference for hard disk-based MP3 players like the iPod. Transferring over 2,000 songs via USB 2.0 will take about 15 minutes; attempting this on USB 1.1 will sorely test your patience.
