Whats the real purpose of frat? I still don't get it.
Whats the real purpose of frat? I still don't get it.
it boils down to teeners' need to feel they 'belong' to something. i've got lots of friends who were fratmen/women during univ. days and they outgrew it after they started working. those who refuse to let go their so-called 'brotherhood' are people who need such for personal gain like the politicians. remember FRAT is just a shake away to FART.
mac_bolan00
Mar 7, 2005, 08:31 AM
that need you mentioned is perfectly normal. i'm sure even you had it once. so why didn't you even try to satisfy the need? was it due to fear?

It was due to fear and cowardice they try to disguise as "prudence"... pweh! hypocritical pansies...

TALAGA :eyecrazy: ?? siguro walang ka kwenta kwentang fraternity yang tinutukoy mo, ignorante ka, or maybe you belong to other schools. In my school, the alumni and alumna of fraternities and sororities form associations in order to help their resident brothers and sisters with their academics (by way of scholarship funds, etc).

Beta Sigma Fraternity - the only Fraternity
ShowMeTheMoney
Mar 28, 2005, 09:06 AM
It all depends on the fraternity.
There are more than a few fraternities out there that really do help out their members. It's hard for some people to get it, because they're on the outside. All you hear about fraternities are rumbles and all that crap, you don't get to see what happens on the inside.
I'll admit our Fraternity has been in and out of rumbles for the past decade, but these rumbles far out weigh what the Fraternity does for its members.
Rumbles are sometimes hard to explain. Sometimes, rumbles don't happen because of simple things. The general perception is that rumbles occur because of simple things like "titigan" or whatever, but sometimes this isn't always the case.
Again, it all depends on the Fraternity. Some Fraternities are worth joining over others. While some Fraternities aren't worth joining at all. If you join the right Fraternity, it can do more good for you than you'll ever think, and no, you don't need to be a politician.
