Greetings to everyone!

My friend wants to take Hotel and Restaurant Management degree for college. What school do you know offers best when it comes to this particular college degree!

Your suggestions will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! :)

Culinary School in Katipunan is recently doing good in this field. I think they have high tuition fees though.
I don't know if UP offers this course. UST and CSB offers it.

sa UP, HRA ang ino-offer nila.
sa CSB, HRIM.
sa Center for Culinary Arts, more on diploma courses lang ang ino-offer.
sa UST, HRM ang ino-offer.

actually UP renamed the course to HRIM.

but there are still some students (i think) who are finishing the HRA curriculum. they were given the option to stick to it, or start taking the HRIM courses.

good program actually. *okay*

Funny, I always thought that St. Paul network would top opinion polls on best HRM schools....

I think their curriculum and exposure is pretty decent though.

how can you beat a school with its own hotel?

UP and CSB (yata) have their own hotels while some schools naman like Lyceum have "set-ups"(?) yung iba naman have strong collaboration with hotels here in Manila kaya pagkamahal-mahal ng tuition fees

I'm an Ateneo teacher, and three years ago, my sister decided to take HRIM. Which we don't offer, so I helped her choose a school.

We looked over the programs and facilities of U.P. and C.S.B. In the end, she decided to go to C.S.B. over U.P., and even Ateneo. Initially, it was a shock.

But having seen more, I see that the C.S.B. program looks much more impressive, especially since exposure and networks are really important to the HR industry.

This may seem a bit snobbish, but I really think going to a school that holds regular international trips for its HRIM students is a real advantage.

Of course, the tuition's astronomical too. Some students (especially the culinary arts majors) pay upwards of P85,000 per term.

bat walang HRM sa ADMU at DLSU??

1. CSB is part of the DLSU System. 2. HRIM's dependence on intense, pragmatic focus isn't an obvious match with ADMU's liberal arts orientation, which is probably why it hasn't been a priority of the university, along with courses like fashion, agriculture, etc.

when i interviewed a number of HRM graduates from UP for possible training as bank managers, i was surprised at the number of management subjects they took. it was almost something out of BA. that explains why a lot of HRM grads from yoops find themselves in all kinds of sectors.

If you have the money, go to Glion Hotel School (http://www.glion.ch/) in Switzerland. My cousin went there because it is one of the top Hotel schools in the world. But the tuition is really pricey as you deal with the best training and get internships all over Europe as part of the training.

UST also has a hotel facility. if i'm not mistaken, it's found at the top of the education building.
