...subukang isara ito at mapapatunayan kong bias kayo sa UST.

THOMASIAN PLEASE SPEAK UR MIND ABOUT THE GROWING PREJUDICES ABOUT OUR IDENTITY- Anyways, we can handle it- as SINNED have said- at least yun lang ang (about the school with the rowdiest crowd) pagkakakilanlan satin which is not our original identity which i knew na original-identity ng isa sa mga schools sa UAAP.At least- being bobo(excuse me for the term) is not our identity.Anyways- napapansin ko na pag tayo na ang nagcocomment- pilit na babarahin ng lahat or worst isasara ang thread dahil it seems na nagdudulot lang tayo ng away.EVERYONE here are damn-dead serious in defending their respective schools- of course!!!...pero let us speak our minds(Thomasian) and we're going to let u speak urs...

Anyways- let this topic be an open discussion for in response to my statement above.

Please (moderator) let this thread be open so that we may know the insights of everyone here-on campus.

PAX!

From what I have noticed, not all Thomasians are drawing the ire of people here in PEx. Your statement above makes readers feel that only the students from UST are the troublemakers around here.

I think it's sufficient for me to say that what you just wrote holds no water. At least some of it anyway. Students from Ateneo and La Salle are quite guilty of this too. So don't feel bad.

Everyone here is hellbent on defending their school. You're right, because it's a natural feeling.

You say that whenever Thomasians comment or open a thread, it seems that it breeds war--at least word wars. You say that everybody's perception of UST is tainted. Hence, instead of just complaining about it, why don't you do something about it? Love your own.

Perhaps opening a thread like this would help, but from past experience in PEx, this thread could very well be out of control.

One other piece of advice. If you think you and your fellow students are feeling harassed now...try to think what will happen come the UAAP Games.

In defense of my school, parang mali ang tag na kami ang bobo... check your grammar please...

As for defending one's school it's but natural... who would want people to go on insulting their schools, right? I guess it's just a matter of how you defend your school and on what you say that makes the difference.

I don't think I'm making much sense here, but what the heck...

braces06:

First of all, I don't think elijah called people from your school bobo. He didn't really point out a particular school, you know.

Second (and this is a personal opinion), nitpicking on someone's grammar is stooping to a level too low for anyone's school.

elijah:

I think the reason why the moderators and administrators shut down the thread when UST defenders start posting is that it eventually turns into a flame war between schools, whether UST-Ateneo or UST-DLSU (funny, I still have to encounter a UP-any other school flame war). Now, don't draw a conclusion that what I'm trying to say is the UST crowd causes the flame war.

It takes two to tango. So, for the school who started it, you're not really showing a good image. For the school na pumatol, the same goes to you.

...which is really sad, because the public's perception of UST's studentry and faculty is based on their representatives to certain areas, whether academic, sports-related or otherwise. Perhaps UST should take a better look at some of their representatives.

Now, my encounters with UST persons have always been civil, enjoyable meetings. The Tomasinos I've met are bright, open-minded, hard-working and articulate. They're witty, generous with praise and thoughtful with criticism.

So if all this hoopla about a negative image for UST is sports-related, that's what one must work on, because I have high regard for UST's academic circles and students. I have no problems with Tomasinos and wish them the best. :)

I think the public has this "bad" impression of our school-UST since they frequently see our UST crowd's bad behavior (jeering & trash-throwing) during the UAAP games. Also the bad behavior of our basketball players and even our Coach during games further reinforces this bad public perception of our school.

I was just wondering...how do you expect people not to have a GROWING prejudice against your school when you yourself already have an ESTABLISHED prejudice against another school? (identity of being bobo)That's kind of sad, really. :)

Then just what kind of example are you exactly setting?

i hate people who generalize. so i try to avoid making generalizations myself. i'm all for individuality.

i don't hate thomasians. neither do i hate lasallians, or up people (ano nga ba tawag sa inyo?). my mom's thomasian. and so is one of my cousins. and a bunch of my friends are thomasian too.

but i do dislike some people who happen to be thomasian too. like valerian, velasco, tiggerguy, claptonn... not because they're thomasian, but because they conduct themselves like real a*ses sometimes.

being ill bred is different from being thomasian. although you can be both at the same time. but ill breeding isn't exclusive to ust. maraming ganyan sa lahat ng iskwela.

same thing with deleted posts and closed threads. its a slap on the wrist for bad behavior. marami na rin akong post na dinelete, at thread na na padlock. diba bg?? pero nga lang, wala pa naman akong nick na na-ban. diba smiley? :D

peace lang tayo bro... :D
