hi pexers! I need your suggestions on this one. My brother is planning to enrol or undego a training for AutoCAD. He is a civil engineer and opt to master his autocad skills. Im seeking suggestions for the best and known institutions or schools who offer such training. Why the best? SImply because I want my brother to have a competitive qualifcations. His undergrad course was from a University not much known here in Manila, and for that he was not really lucky to land a better job. And admit it, some companies are still into old thoughts of hiring from the best universities. Kunbaga, may discrimination pa rin with regards to what school you came from..
Hope i can get a good suggestions from u guys. thanks in advance!!!

Microcadd..I guess..
I just did it on my own. Pretty easy when you get the hang of it. I was forced to learn how to use the software myself.

Suggestion lang : Why don't you try learning Microstation instead. If you are not familiar with it, it's AutoCAD's closest competitor, developed by Bentley Systems (USA). While AUtoCAD is the de facto industry standard and is therefore more widely-used, Microstation is used by the bigger, more prestigious architectural/engineering firms - maybe not here in the Philippines, well at this time - but it's huge in the US, Europe, Australia, the Middle East, Singapore and other well-developed countries.
Dito sa Pinas, sampu singko na ang Autocad users. Kokonti lang ang marunong ng Microstation, that's why the latter can demand higher salaries. Check out Fluor Daniel, Japan Gas Corporation, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Babcock-Hitachi and companies in the same league.
Sorry kung di ko sinagot ng deretso ang tanong mo. I just wanted to present to you what I thought was a better option. Bahala ka na mag-decide.

sorry i do not know any schools for ACAD e. i could suggest you contact MagnaCAD (try the yellow pages) and ask them where their employees are trained. MagnaCAD is the subcontracting company we hire for our CAD needs. I'll try to ask my co-workers later since i'm at home right now.
also, above poster is right. Study AutoCAD but also study Microstation. There both being used in the industry. There's also a some new software to be released by Intergraph (to replace all of the above) for your info.

Ever tried inquiring at small computer schools? AutoCAD is AutoCAD is AutoCAD. Even if it's offered at the most well known computer academy, they teach you the basic. You move on from there (ie. scripting and speed drafting). I don't understand why there is discrimination even learning softwares at the basic level. Getting a job in HK or Singapore as an ACAD draftsman (engineering or architecture) only requires a degree in B.S. Architecture and/or Engineering, and knowledge in AutoCAD. School, university, or any learning institution's name is not required. Only ability.

i asked a colleague of mine. she said she studied ACAD in STI. Unfortunately, hinde daw dun tinuturo Microstation. She learned it at work na. oh well..I really suggest you study other more advanced software. A new generation of more intelligent (meaning drafting, 3D rendering plus integrated database storage capable) engineering software will be released soon and ACAD (being primarily a drafting tool) might have less significance in the future. anyway, good luck.
