first advice... study... freshman year is always the easiest kaya kung seseryosohin mo freshman year mo mas may chance kang mag-DL. if ever hindi ka na mag-DL at least masasabi mo pa rin na nagawa mo yun di ba?
join an org to get you more acquianted with the community. sila tutulong sayo to adjust kagad with college life.
befriend upperclassmen. they can help you with your subjects and recommend teachers and subjects plus you can even borrow notes and books. tipid ka pa di ba?
careful ka lagi. iwasan mo na may makaaway na upperclassmen. remember mas matagal na sila sa yo. they might have friends on the top floor, e.g. kung lalaki ka may gina**** kang upperclass tapos may kaibigan siyang officer sa ROTC. pwede niyang sabihin sa kaibigan niya uy pahirapan mo si ganito, si ganyan...
expect the unexpected...there are so many kinds of people in college. youll be interacting with different people everyday kaya expect the unexpected so youll know how to deal with first-time experiences.
enjoy. college is the most exciting and experience-filled point of your life. you should try to enjoy it as much as you can. and always be open to different and all possibilities. thats the only way to survive.
note: these are all based on author's experiences.

For all everyone says about grades not being a good basis for one's intelligence, fact is, when you first start looking for a job, it does matter (I know, the world is not fair, but that's reality for you). So take your studies very seriously. Have fun, but always prioritize your studies if you're made to choose. Keep an open mind even with the dreariest and most boring subjects--once you're working no one will spoonfeed you with such easy-to-get knowledge. And of course, make a lot of friends! :)

definitely study.... but don't forget to have a soical life as well... join orgs also... u get a lot of experience from orgs and u get to meet a lot of new people. when u join orgs, it's not only for something u add to ur resume but it's a very great way of enjoying college life... be active in the orgs, especially the org. of ur course.

since nasabi na rin lang naman lahat :p...i would also suggest that you begin listing down and memorizing the locations of the eateries near the ur school.
when u have a barkada in college, u'll end up discussing 4ever kung saan kayo kakain. before u know it, ur brk is OVER!!!
what we did was ginawa naming lotto yung kainan namin (this was more or less during the last trimester of our freshman year up to our sophomore year... :D :D :D). bunutan kung saan kakain, and everyone had a chance to pick the place (parang may sked... ikaw sa monday, tapos yung isa naman bukas).
kinda elaborate...but hey, it worked!!!

enjoy every minute of it. kahit medyo mahirap yung ibang subjects pag enjoy ka kasi natututo ka magiging madali sila. then, when you graduate and look back sa mga nangyari nung college ka, matutuwa ka kasi naging masaya ka while learning new things in the classroom and outside of it. :)
