13, I don't know how I can help you. Have you considered hotels? I'm fascinated by how wonderful a hotel can look like. Especially elegant looking hotels that are also cozy. :)

The Philippines has many distinguished and old architecture, which are neglected and some are in danger of being torn down, because people are ignorant of the the artistic value of these buildings. These structures have their own stories and histories. There should be more concerted effrort for the conservation of these wonderful structures. Let the people know!

that is a bit hard..

I have seen a lot of designs and some are a bit overused..

mmm.. how about trying an integrated Rail central/mall complex.. u know..

a mall built around a railway central station. with a bus station, access to subway underground.. and all that..

have it here in japan and have to say it is very convenient..

or how about a riverfront hotel?
which is right flush in the riverbank..
where there are three floors below ground with glass walls.. allowing the ppl to see the riverbed.. which is of course stocked with a lot of thing.. (what kind? I dunno)
the viewdecks would of course be cafes of something like that.. how about a posh restaurant?

the floor which the first underground level should allo wthe ppl to see a bit above the water.. to see the contrast of the views..

I would have suggested a bayfront type hotel but I dont think that woudl be feasible considering the stress the sea would put on the glass :D

Subway.

It's pretty simple but a lot of room for new stuffs to add. You could add a small museum or a mall. An opara house is a good idea since it is underground.

Assassin_Mage: you're suggestions are great... underground stuffs never really crossed my mind coz it wud include extensive research to be sure that the structure is safe for its occupants... but i guess a lot of information can be founde about this... and better yet (if ever i push through w/ ur suggestion) i'll just ask you for help... hehehe... anyway, thanks again!

fridoh: a subway is also gud since there are not much subways here in the philippines due to frquent flooding... but i guess an efficient flood control combined with a good subway-construction would be easy to defend... i'll think about it... thanks!

hi. if its architecture, why don't you try a descriptive thesis of the differences in the basic architectural styles derived from the Romans and Greeks? (Ionic, Doric, Corinthian, etc). You can also try comparing English architecture like the designs during the Georgian and Edwardian Eras, the Victorian Era and Renaissance. All architectural designs are influenced by the root country's culture and history. They also have specific purposes to serve. Why there are buttresses in some designs while others opt for more simple utilitarian structures. Just a thought. Good luck!

Are you trying to come up with a topic for your thesis? or you just need a thesis for reference?

Try to come up with something that you think has never done before. I'm not an arki student but most of my friends are.

Some of their thesis topics include Oceanarium/Ocean Park for Philippines, Improvement of Museums in the Philippines.... Pansin ko lang ang common consideration nila kailangan yun design mag-aadapt sa weather ng Pilipinas.

Anong concept ng thesis mo?

Anong sinabi ng juror mo na hindi mo makakalimutan?

I forgot na the exact words I used but mine was...

A conglomeration of Filipino and American Architecture but is still close to nature...

Something like that.

And sinabi sakin ng juror ko...I had a very interesting concept. I should read up some more and then maybe I'd be the one to revolutionize Filipino Architecture (naks kinilig ako dito). Madalang lang daw student who sticks up for his concept.

So kayo? Share naman kayo!
