jj9527: here's the link: http://www.thes.co.uk/

is it credible? I guess. The ranking was conducted for a good cause, not to benefit one institution or those institutions that are found in the UK.

Is it accurate? the formula is somewhat accurate but the criteria used in the survey is highly debatable. Institutions found in poor countries like the Philippines have a lot of disadvantages over those that are found in richer countries like America, UK, Japan and Australia. There's "money talks" even in the academic world.

swimbod21:
Chulalongkorn is a very prestigious university. It is more recognized than some of those institutions that were ranked higher than it in the league. Chulalongkorn is what Harvard to America is. It is a cash-rich State U and does not rely its income solely from the government funding. Its land portion in downtown area is leased out earning the university a huge amount of money. Its researches have close connections with the some of Thailand's thriving private companies. This is what UP hopes to do when its charter will be changed.

sana nga yan din ang mangyari sa UP kasi sayang naman yung land area, tinitirhan lang ng mga squatters.
