Many ghost stories happened in schools. I want to hear some. Which school has the most and the scariest ghost stories?

Can ANY school even approach the sheer multitude of the ghosts in UP PGH?! :D I've encountered one myself during my internship, and most of my co-interns have, at one time or another, encountered invisible typists, crying little boys, feetless men, and old nurses. Kadiri talaga.

Kadiri, whoops...kakatakot pala... :D

Oh I forgot about another UST park. Before the Colayco Park was re-designed, there were creepy rumors that banshee-like ladies lived in the arborescent grasses behind Colayco's statue. They say these ladies' weepings were so shrill that the ears of whoever hears them bleed. grabe!

Almost all of the buildings in all of the campuses have their own resident ghosts. Like the ghost in the theater in the AS Building... and the ones in the dorms... glad I don't live in a UP dorm.. :)

in the La Salle Main Chapel, this was where La Salle brothers were killed during WWII. you can still see the blood sa floor. exag nga eh, nilinis at pinalitan na ang tiles at lahat, nandun pa rin yung blood.

oh and sometimes at night there is a headless priest walking about near the chapel. it was just my luck that during my last term in dlsu, i had classes at night near the chapel and everytime i had to go home na, i had to pass by the chapel because there is no other way. good thing i never saw anything pero ang lamig ng feeling everytime i pass by. siguro the ghost was there but my third eye refused to open (thankfully) :D

sa 6th floor yun. way back in the early 90's ata, nasunog kasi ang 6th floor at dun na nag start yung kwento about that ghost. some say babae daw yun na mahaba yung buhok, nagpapakita sa mga laboratory, minsan sa faculty room ng biology department.

Hey guys!
Nakakatakot talagang basahin tong thread na to paggabi!
Anyway, regarding that ghost story in San Beda (coz i'm a bedan)
yes i've heard that story from one of my classmate (a bedan high school graduate) and i think talagang "ghost camp" yung football field ng beda. may nakapagkwento pa sakin na nakakita pa sila ng babaing matandang tumatawid sa field na may kinakaladkad na metal ball na nakatali sa isang paa niya!
yun lang. Cheers!

Here are some of the stories I know from ADMU:

Communications Department:
It is considered to be the most haunted building of all in the Ateneo. They say that inside the Studio, there is a portal in which the spirits enter our realm. Also the banyos in the Comm Dept are really spooky. There is this story that as a janitor was about to close the building, a guard pleaded him to use the banyo. The janitor agreed, and the guard went to the second floor to use the said room. After the guard left, the janitor checked the room, and found it completely magulo. There were handprints of human waste all over the room. He immediately left the building and talked to the guard, who was clueless about the event. When the guard turned around, he was shocked to see that there was also a print on the guard's back.

PIPAC
Some say that a janitor haunts the building. He died when the air was sucked out of the building tp clear the chemicals.

Gonzaga Hall
The stairs are similar to the Sacred Heart. No matter how hard you try at night, you always end up at the Second Floor Landing!

Bellarmine Hall
They say Fr. Eliazo is always there.

High School
There is also a portal in the middle of the HS Covered Courts. In the middle of Court 4. Also There are reports of a ghost in every odd numbered batch of Days With The Lord.

my org buddy who's an Educ major told me this story. needless to say, it scared the wits out of me

Ako po itong Chalk Magazine OSC (Official Student Correspondent) from UP Diliman na nagsulat nito.

I reported this story (medyo revised ng konti) sa Campus Urban Legends section ng Chalk Magazine. Check out the October 2001 issue for more details and more ghost stories.

Out of the many stories from the different campuses, this was regarded as the spookiest of them all and the only one judged with five spiders as in - recurring nightmares!

Eh yun ba namang makipageye-to-eye ka eh!

Dahil dito, kung matutuloy, I'll be guesting at Breakfast channel 23 this Friday, Nov. 1 tungkol sa UPDil ghost stories kaya ito ako ngayon, research, research ulit.:) :D :) :D

The ever famous Ikot jeep incident. Hehehe. That I won't narrate anymore. Medyo saulado na yata yun eh. Pero may isa pa na medyo similar don.

Yung friend ng friend ko (it's a personal experience confirming that "headless" account of the girl in the Ikot jeep), decided to take a cab to Krus Na Ligas from the College of Fine Arts. Medyo gabi na kasi non so instead of waiting endlessly for an Ikot jeep, she decided to hail a cab.

finally a cab stopped and instead of taking her straight away to KNL, the driver drove around the campus three times before letting her out.

siyempre takot na siya kasi baka may balak na masama yung driver but when she went down, the driver tapped her shoulder and told her that when he passed by her, he saw that she was headless and that he has to do what he did so she can avoid a violent death.

The freshmen dorm in UP, Kalayaan Dorm has some kids running around at night, others cry, others are playful...Floormates of mine encountered one of these playful children one night. There were six of them I think in one room, playing tong-its and pusoy when they heard a playful laughter, then all the lights in the corridor went out, and they swore they felt something move around them.:)..

Maganda sana kung personal encounter kaso I wasn't gifted with the talent to see 'the others' around. So this is another story told. :D

A classmate at the UST Faculty of Engineering had befriended the security guard of the neighboring Education Building kasi madalas syang tumatambay dun sa lobby entrance while waiting for his girl. Among the stories they shared were the guard's ghost encounters when he's on graveyard shift. The guard admitted he's 'sensitive' and that he's used to hearing strange voices and sounds from the upper floors. Dinededma lang daw nya. Pero one late night (eto daw yung di nya nakayanang dedmahin)...

While sitting on his stool inside the building's entrance door, a roving guard passing by called his attention after seeing one lighted classroom on the 3rd floor. Though he was sure that he checked and switched them all off a couple of hours earlier after the last few classes ended, he went outside the building, looked up and confirmed his colleague's observation. So he went up to switch the lights off 'again'. Arriving at the classroom door, he glanced around to see if someone was still inside (though he's sure no one was left after 9pm). To his amazement he saw one female student faced down on her desk from the farthest corner. At that instance, the lights went off. Fighting his fright, he grasped the switch and turned it on-and-off a few times before the lights turned ON again. There was nobody inside. This time frightened to the bones, he hurriedly ran back to his post at the ground floor lobby in no time. Still catching his breath, he decided to stay outside for awhile to regain what was lost of him. While outside the building, he looked up again to check the classroom. And he was right -- the lights were still ON. He went back to the lobby with a decision to just let the classroom stay alight overnight. Kala nya yun na yun. Suddenly a loud scream was heard emanating from the upper floor. Tapos biglang nawala yung stepping sound a few meters away from him. Then may naramdaman syang bibig na humihinga malapit sa kanyang tenga. Duon sya bumigay.

from the Letran thread

an old unpublished article from The Lance. unedited. raw.

Urban Legend: Letran Chapter
A woman silhouetted in a black cloth, moaning undecipherable words, sitting and staring endlessly in a still, were pictures Mark Awiten could never forget that night of September 20, 1999.
It was 8:30 in the evening and he together with his co-members in Communication Arts Media and Production Organization (CAMPO) were preparing for their upcoming General Assembly at the T.V. Studio in St. Thomas Building. Assigned in doing the decoration Mark immediately went backstage in search for materials they will need. As he was searching the place he suddenly hear a very strange moan---cold, husky, and to his surprise... eerie! Thinking a joke was played on him he completely ignored it and goes back to his work. But the moaning did continue to fill the air, this time…. in a more frightening tone. He then began to feel very uncomfortable; hair from almost every part of his body begun to rise and a very creepy feeling shook him. Mark realized that it was no joke when a very strange image draws his attention – sitting at the improvised chair was a woman silhouetted in a black cloth just a few steps away from him. Words can’t describe how terrified he was that he wasted no time in running very fast away from that site. When he finally reached the main lobby other CAMPO members followed him and asked him what had happened. Mark, still frightened, told them the story.
Being a four century old institution, it is not surprisingly that there are these kinds of stories, whether factual or just plain fiction or a hoax, spreading around Letran. Stories like these were very much accepted by Letranites or Filipinos in general because it is already a part of their culture. In this article, employees and students of the Colegio share their views and their true-to-life experiences with the paranormal….

What are Ghosts?
Perhaps, one of the biggest mysteries that gave a wild impact in our humanity is the existence of ghosts. For almost a century people from all parts of the world devoted their time studying if ghosts do really exists. Others even made movies and documentaries about these entities, remember “Sixth Sense” or Magandang Gabi Bayan? But what are ghosts? Do they exist? Unfortunately, the truth is, nobody has a straight answer for these questions. There were only theories that will lead us on what are these entities like. One theory is that ghost were deceased human beings whose souls still have attachments to the physical world.
Elementary Building… the oldest, the most haunted? "Ewan ko lang ha! Pero iba talaga ang dating sa akin ng Elementary Building" says one Letran employee, commenting on how scary the place is. True enough, countless stories have been heard relating odd things happening in odd times at that old building. Some five years ago, Antonio Olidan, a former stay in janitor of the Colegio lost his normality and suffered a nervous breakdown. But what is more intriguing is the cause of his sudden abnormality. What’s behind it or to be more exact who is behind it? Better find out for yourselves. Tony, as what everybody calls him slept at the quarters in the second floor of the said building. On several occasions, his co-workers saw him talking to someone which was only visible to his sight. They also heard him saying things like "Umalis ka diyan nagtratrabaho ako!", "Wag ninyo naman akong takutin" and "Ayan na naman siya babatuhin na naman ako!" Finally, Adan, also a janitor and Tony’s friend relates that Tony has been seeing creepy creatures in that old building even in broad daylight. But seeing does not even make one percent on what does the creature is doing on him. His friend and co-worker, Adan, also a janitor, relates that Tony always told him that he has been seeing a black and naked oldie looking man who stands about four inches tall and holding a what seems to be a spear taller than him. Toni even told him that the strange creature is following him up to the second floor of the St. Thomas Hall where he is assigned. Thus, his co-worker always sees him talking to someone visible only in his eyes; words that refers only to a single person, if you could them one. Oftentimes he is seen walking while praying the rosary alone with his hands trembling because of fear looking for Fr. Art to tell him that the elementary building should be blessed because it is "haunted". Jonnie Echo, a stay-in janitor then of the Colegio, has another story to tell. Sleeping alone in that quarters at the second floor of the Elementary Building he also experienced the "basics"---those were the knockings, footsteps and strange sounds. One night he decided to answer the knockings by opening the door. So open he did. But just like the other incidents no one was there. On his way back to his bed he was so shocked to see three priests in their sotana facing the wall inside the comfort room. Now you might ask me what so eerie about that. Here is the catch, it is impossible for the three priests to enter the said room without passing the door and given the premise that they did pass through that door it is impossible that they will not be seen by Jonnie. How did it happen? Well, let’s just leave it to the priests.

48 yrs. old. The Colegio started to established primary education in the year 1706 but it was only in the year 1953 that the Elementary Building was built on its present site. It was built on the grounds of Santa Catalina College between the San Juan de Letran Street that was later on surrendered by the government.

Garden of Mystery
Not so many students know or they don't just care that a Royal Family from Spain once lived here in the premises of our alma mater long before it was Colegio de San Juan de Letran. They migrated here in the Philippines from Spain and joined the founder of Colegio in running an orphanage, which was later called Colegio de Ninos Huerfanos de San Juan de Letran. All of them die here and wished to be buried in this place. Now what's the catch? Well, not a few guards attest that they've been hearing whispers and murmurs talking in foreign language in the site where the bodies of the Royal Family has been buried..

It was February 2000 and Villegas was doing his nightly routine when something odd and strange happened. He was roaming around the vicinity of the Extension Lobby (In front of the Guidance Office and Audit) at around 2:00 AM checking if all the lights are off and everything is in place when he suddenly saw a man in a white barong walking opposite his direction. Seeing this he suddenly got hold of his gun and make a sudden move towards the man but as he reached the place to corner the mystery being, horror enveloped his whole body when he find out that the man was no where to be found.

The Tale of the Black Shadow
When Mark Awiten saw the silhouette image at the backstage of the TV Studio he didn't return to that place for about 2 years. He did return to the TV Studio though he just stayed at the booth and never took the courage of going backstage again. On another occasion Fr. Joemar Sibug, chairman of the Communication Arts Department and the head of the Media Center, was preparing the final examination for the third year Communication Arts student in Radio Production at the AVR, St. Thomas Hall. On his way back he closed all the lights from the AVR down to the lobby. Seconds later, when he is already approaching the glass door at the front lobby he saw a very mysterious image passing across the St. Thomas Building in a very fast pace. It was more of a shadow but there is no tree that will cause a shadow. Fr. Joemar even remembered that the moment he saw the mysterious image he froze in terror but he have no choice but to pass through that door. So passed he did…

Scary thread. Sarap magbasa nung una, pero eventually I can't read anymore! hahaha! Pero I think the oldest universities would have more ghosts, lalo na UST. ^_^

In my 5 years at UST (4 years in Nursing, now 1st year Med), never did a week pass by without me spotting at least 2 or 3.

I started seeing on my 5th grade, I could remember how scared I was, pleading to (sometimes cursing) God and crying nonstop at one corner of my room upon returning home from school like I wanted to die. Later, I tried to be strong and considered it more as a gift. I became interested on ways on coping with it, read literature and sought advice from people with similar experiences.

While coping, my acuity level also progressed:
They make weird, intelligible sounds similar to mumbling the words while underwater.
Misan rin, kahit matalas na and sensitivity ko, yung mga iba kong nakikita ay silhouette o torso pa rin, and it gives me a feeling they are the “newbies”.

I got used to it eventually. Now it’s part of me the same way that I needed to breathe or eat. Majority of my sightings at UST are at the med bldg, including a weird looking figure lurking the ceiling of the 2nd floor male CR, a nun walking the corridors of the 6th floor nursing lab, an old-world friar wearing brown cloak (o abito ba tawag dun) staring at the piles of pre-war medical books sa back corridor sa 3rd floor (dilim pa naman dun heheh), a patient whose gown was soaked with blood from the abdomen down to feet (may have died during surgery), etc.

And when I visited the museum, there they were, much more inside the small room housing the statues of saints. Not to mention Dominican priests walking the campus, a few soldiers, nuns and I believe seminarians. White ladies wala naman akong nakita heheh.

I can’t speak of other schools dahil di naman ako familiar sa iba. Sa lahat naman ay meron, pero sa UST marami talaga probably due to its rich history.
