I have this dandruff problem since grade 7 i think. But, I just can't find any solution for it. (sighs) Right now, I'm using Head and Shoulders Menthol but it just controls the itching but I still have dandruff falling like snow.
Suggestions?

if it is severe/untolerable, a trip to a dermatologist won't be bad...

Try Stieprox kaso medyo may kamahalaan ito. Around 500++ ang pinaka malaking bottle. Yung mas maliit naman around 400++.
The good thing about Stieprox is that it doesn't dry out your hair because it has a conditioner.
It is available in Mercury Drug

Nizoral, head and shoulders are great for maintenance but i advice you to use products that are made specifically for sensitive skin, minsan kasi these brands e lalo pang ti ni trigger and paglabas ng dandruff mo.
And for you to get rid of your dandruff, worst case na yan ata since matagal na, its actually a fungal infection na, so i advice to use shampoos that include sulphides to handle the dandruffs. Other prescribed shampoos that include ketoconazole, which is anti-fungal and this works more powerfully.
For further questions, seek a proffesional help ask a dermatologist, it wouldnt hurt you. Goodluck!

Nizoral yung green. Ilang gamit mo lang oks na. Ang ginagawa ko dati I leave it for 3-5 mins then use a comb to brush my hair/scalp. Kahit na bad yun sa hair, effective naman na mabilis mawawala yung flakes. Maintenance lang ang kailangan mo pag nawala na.

Basta try nyo yung Nizoral Green [Maximum Treatment] Use it for at least 2 weeks. Use Nizoral 2-3 times a week. Medyo matigas ang buhok nyo after gumamit so I recommend applying conditioner on the hair only avoiding the scalp para di maapektuhan yung treatment [Nizoral]
I don't use Head and Shoulders kasi lalo ako nagkadandruff nun. Though malamig siya sa scalp.

I used to use Selsun Blue which was very effective for dandruff that I just need to buy it in sachets kasi around 4 days ko lang naman gagamitin so there's really no use in buying it in bottles. Downside lang is it smells awful if you don't rinse it properly (it contains sulfides).
Unfortunately, Selsun Blue is not in the market anymore. The other dandruff shampoos I make do with is Rejoice Anti Dandruff. However, this variant is also no longer in the market.
Kaya nagpakalbo na lang ako. :rotflmao:

Try Neutrogena's T/Gel shampoo (P299 at PCX) but use a conditioner after shampooing and make sure it's mabango!:p

Ok din ang Head and Shoulder's Intensive Treatment. It has Selenium Sulfide (I think this is the active ingredient found in Selsun Blue). But I think it's not widely available here in the country. Just try looking for it in PX shops.

gamit ka na lang ng any regular shampoo na mild, don't use head and shoulders,di ko nga maintindihan yang product na yan,yan pa nga nagpapalala ng dandruff samantalang anti-dandruff daw!
use nizoral,effective talaga :)

Yep, just use any regular shampoo. Or just use conditoner na lang kasi pag araw-araw ka nagshshanpoo baka magdry ang scalp and hair mo. If you can't avoid it, i-dilute mo muna yung shampoo sa palm mo then apply it sa hair then sa scalp. SOme shampoos kasi may harsh ingredients.
As for the vinegar solution. I have the formula here, Ive read it from Beauty Tip book na home-made stuffs.
Dandruff Fighter:
Mix 3 part apple cider vinegar to 3 parts warm water to balance scalp pH and control dandruff. You can also apply undiluted vinegar to the scalp. Allow it to penetrate then shampoo with mild shampoo..
As for me, I'd still stick with Nizoral. hehehe :) 2 sachets lang ang nagamit ko nawala na yung flakes and itching scalp. :)

Ei GUYS! I guess the vinegar solution would do the trick (esp if you use Apple Cider Vinegar)... lalo na yung pabalik-balik na dandruff na kahit na anong medicated shampoo ang gamitin mo.
But the thing is dapat LEAVE-ON for the solution to be really effective. You shampoo first (mild lang, or a baby shampoo), then lagyan mo LAHAT ng scalp area mo. Do this twice a day (evening and morning). Mejo mahapdi ito, this is normal, if it last for a few minutes (acid kasi sya eh).
The big Turn-OFF with Apple Cider is the SMELL (very strong) and you have to leave it on sa scalp, eh paano kung papasok ka sa school or office, e di amoy suka ka talaga. :)
My solution: I have used CALAMANSI Juice sa umaga. It works equally well, kaso parang mas mahapdi sya. Try nyo guys. :)

one whole egg, mix it with 2 tablespoon of water.... then pahid mo sa scalp mo and leave it for at least 10 mins...then shampoo your hair with mild soap... do this weekly or twice a week. Tried it its super effective... lumambot din *** hair ko honest :D

i have read in a men's magazine that baking soda (mixed with mild shampoo) could help get rid of your dandruff ( and other impurities). sinabi ko to sa friend ko who recently cut his 2-year dreadlocks. yun yung ginamit nya nung nakaka3 shampoo na cia eh madumi pa rin yung scalp nya. it worked daw tsaka walang smell. conditioner ka na lang pagkatapos.
pero kung matagal na, consult ka na sa derma.
...or specialists (kasi yung ibang dandruff, stress talaga ang dahilan.)
