What are some of the best (cheapest)franchise opportunities available now? Are they really worth investing in?
If a franchise costs peanuts to set up...Are "peanuts" all you can expect to earn?

I took a look at their site. In order to become a distributor, you need to send 2X2 photo of yourself, a copy of your latest income tax return, copy of your latest bank statement and among other things.

Those were pretty invasive don't you think? Why do they need to have a photo of me? Maybe that's just a front for a kidnapping gang. They know how much you make, they know how much you have in bank, and they know what you look like. For a small time operation like this, no thank you.

gumacanian, you sure found a interesting oil franchise. I think.. Ill give them a email. As for me, I bought a enterpreniur magazine and it is the edition wherein the franchise are advertised. If any one wants to know a franchise of a particular industry (say resturant or even hotels), post them here and Ill try to type all the info I found on the magazine.

EDIT: I having difficulty contacting their email. gumacanian... are you experiencing the same problem?

Nov 24, 2004, 05:09 PM
To be honest I haven`t tried to contact them. If you do get mail though plz PM me as I would like to find out more.. It doesnt look as if they deliver to underground tanks even if you purchase it from them..Perhaps this is how they manage to keep costs down.
You must be really careful with this kind of investment and obtain references from people that have had dealings with the company.
Still..In theory,well worth checking out.

Can anyone get me info on the TJ hotdog cart? I've heard that there are no franchise fees, just an initial investment for the cart, equipment, training, uniforms, and initial inventory.

Thanks.

I went to the franchise expo this afternoon but couldn't find any hotdog franchisee there. Besides, do you really need to franchise a simple biz like this? All you need is a stand, electric skillet, cooler, a package of hotdogs, vegetable oil, mayo, ketchup, buns, utensils, and apron. Except for the stand, you can buy all these at SM. When you franchise this, you have to buy the hotdogs and buns from your franchiser. Even though there's no royalty fees, they'll get their money somewhere somehow.

This is the same with any food vendors. Can you believe that the franchise fee for a fishball stand is P120,000? I can build all that for less than P20k.

If any of you curious about street food franchising, I've got some general info. A squidball/Kikiam franchise cost P120k. Shawarma P81,000. Frutas (fruit shakes) P240k. Fiorgelato P180k. Pizza stand P200k.

There's some that I still haven't researched such as Rice in a box.

"This is the same with any food vendors. Can you believe that the franchise fee for a fishball stand is P120,000? I can build all that for less than P20k."

that's true amigo but we should understand that in franchising.. they were not selling the "fishball stand". what's they're selling is their name(brand-name recall),their integrity(look at KISS right now-they have already in abroad, have some food specialist employee), their procedure(systematic and uniform)..the fissball stand is just one of the package.

franchising is good but in my experience of doing brand business, i cannot really go BIG. even ten years will not help me to reach top(maybe in a very litol way). it's just having your own "hardware" biz to be exact. you might become "slave" of your own business. in short "freelance".

ENTREPRENEUR creates his/her own niche(then later on, you may capture the entire market). Just like the owner of those mentioned above. instead of helping them to become more richer ... "be ONE of them"!

jolog1
Dec 5, 2004, 12:13 PM
At that low level type of business (food stand), brand name don't carry much weight. They rely on foot traffic. I've eaten a lot of crap at the mall from chips, ice cream, hotdogs, waffles, wraps, and fishballs and I couldn't remember their names.

Franchising is good if you don't know where to start or how to do business. Kung kalalabas mo lang sa college. Franchise is more like a mentor that assist you in every step. Pero to us that already have a business, we can easily put this thing up and running in less than a week.

Don't forget na yung franchise fee of P120k, that's usually only good for about 3 years and then you have to renew it.

a couple hundred thousand. this was a few years ago though, and i think that it was just the contract (less than 500k). i don't exactlly remember. i might be wrong. anyways, just to be sure, just walk into any of their branches and ask the number for the head office for franchising.

Coffee franchise usually requires at least P1.5 mil of total investment. That's just for a small cart. Kiosks will cost you P2 mil. Anything bigger will cost you P3 mil to P4 mil. Franchisers won't let you franchise just because you can afford to pay the franchise fee. They want you to have money for the set-up as well as liquid cash on hand when you start operating.

check out buy and sell. meron ako nakikitang ads dun ng hk fried noodle. you may opt to open your own. simple lang naman yan eh. you just to measure all the noodles. tapos yun mga sauce naman, nabibili naman sa mga chinese food store. although you may need to edit the sauce to make it cheaper. like dilute the sauce with water and oil. para bumaba ang costing mo. good luck!

interested din sana ako mag open nyan. kaya lang walang time. if you want, i can help you with the start up. tapos commission na lang ako. i have a suki food cart maker. i can source the sauce for you. i can standardized the recipe of the sauce (pag dilute). malasa pa rin sya after na dilute na. then, i can help you with the staff training din. all you have to do, is learn it from me. hehe...

Di naman. I've worked for Jollibee for many years as Real Estate Manager. I got a lot of sites for them. They are a nice bunch and very fair to all applicants. Its quite expensive though. If you have a nice location, I don't see why they won't approve a franchise application... Of course you gotta be qualified as well.

Same with Mcdo. They didn't get that big if they were not fair to franchisees.

hello...

pwede po ba manghingi ng sample letter of intent to franchise?.... salamat po!!!!

tubigman
Nov 1, 2008, 08:28 PM
hindi naman mahirap gawin yun letter of intent para mag franchise. since they want us to franchise, dahil its income for them. Walang tatangi pag bibigyan mo sya ng pera. kaya kahit gaano ka lousy yun letter of intent mo, i'm sure they will entertain you. unless its the big guys like jollibee and mc do, or something like them.

for the new cart supplier, do you have idea on how you want it to be? i can refer you to my supplier if you want. just leave me a message. you're contact number and email, and i'll ask him to call you up.

@mon
i know they will assess you as a franchisee. but atleast you get a head start. how will i be assessed if i don't have their contact number and details. they won't know that i'm interested in being their franchisee. kahit chance to give them my lousy LOI ay wala. hehehe....

@efanancy
there is no standard proceedure on getting a franchise. just call them up and ask them to give you the proceedure. Like sa Aquabest and Kodak, they only ask for you to give them downpayment that is refundable, then they will present the franchise agreement/contract and get approval from you.
Lots of franchise can be availed either thru a bank loan or credit card loan for smaller valued business package.

good luck guys!

pano ba i operationalize ang mga franchise? like, how do you make sure that the person you employed wont cheat on you since you cant actually watch your personnel all the time if you have a regular office job as well.

also, how would you deal with the revenues for the day? do you pick it up at the end of the day or you let your 'taga bantay ng franchise' keep it for you and collect it at the end of the week or do you leave it sa location ng kart mo na naka lock? pano ang mga left overs for the day, halimbawang your franchise sells consumables such as food, do you pick it up or leave it sa kart with the fridge turned on overnight? hope you guys can help. thanks.

Yeah ako rin.. I'm planning to franchise a Country Style Deli.. pero baka di maapprove pag nalaman na wala kang prior existing business even if i have the money...

may ganun ba sa franchising na rule?

Pre, I think you have a point there. why go franchising if pwede namang magstart ng ganung business in lesser cost. anyway ang mahalaga kikita *** papasukin natin business. I dont know bakit ganon ba kalaki ang kailangang iinvest pagnagfranchise.? Pero if totoo *** sa tg hotdogs, *** walang franchise fee..nakakaenganyo subukan. Sa totoo lang, Everyone naman gusto magkabusiness o magkaroon ng foodcart..kaya lang pagpinagusapan na *** franchise fee..in my own opinion..parang di makatarungan..This is just my opinion.

Yeah ako rin.. I'm planning to franchise a Country Style Deli.. pero baka di maapprove pag nalaman na wala kang prior existing business even if i have the money...

parang interesting yung food carts for 21,888... what's the catch?:p

I'm thinking about getting a franchise of Generics Pharmacy and have attended their seminar. Sounds too good to be true and the investment is reasonable at P650k to P850k. The business is even socially relevant.

Before I take the final plunge and invest I was wondering f anyone has anything bad to say about The Generics Pharmacy...

i'm also interested in getting a Generics Pharmacy franchise. in fact i've found a nice place for it. ang tanong ko lang eh kung totoo yung tsismis na idedeny ang application mo only to find somebody getting it instead. kanda-hirap ka humanap ng magandang pwesto mapupunta lang pala sa iba. how true?
