I think it's more headache than profits, or the profits aren't worth the headache. Even if you own a fleet of jeeps, you have to deal with the drivers too.

It's not something I would do, I've seen friends (many of them) run transportation businesses: bus, jeep, tricycle. Didn't go too well for them, margins are low, ... maybe it might work for one or two, and you own the jeep and just charge boundary. But if you can't deal with insurance, just imagine if something goes wrong, like the jeep gets into an accident or something like that.

But hey, some people do it ... you might do better than my friends did.

im from cebu, ive been to manila also and ive noticed that the manila jeeps are kinda different from here.

The manila jeeps mostly resemble the hardcore US Army jeeps of Circa World War II (Sarao etc...). While here in cebu its more of a hybrid - 2 kinds..

1. For longer routes - we commonly have the "truck" variant (i realy dont know what to call this). Its more of a mini truck or mini - hino and it defintely is bigger, carries more passengers, stronger engine (its a truck right) and maybe to some degree an efficient engine also.

2. For shorter routes - we have a "multicab" (very popular here). carries about 12 passengers, smaller engines (660cc-1000cc) and way cheaper.

But unfortunately i am all for the scrapping of this Jeepneys in favor of Mass Transit systems, no matter what it takes. Anyways its just to give you an idea of different jeeps in the country. :)

Pag-aralan nyo muna bago kayo bumili.

Mahal ang gasolina, insurance and maintenance.

any point in metro manila, laguna, cavite, or bulacan to:

any point in ortigas CBD, makati CBD, lawton, masagana supermarket in taft avenue, greenhills, baclaran/rotonda LRT, etc...

Please don't add to the traffic. :smokin: There are enough jeeps in the philippines. :)

I own a jeep...more trouble than its worth.
Find out stuff like route organisations or Jeep cartels as i call them that you will have to join..Find out if it will accept you and the cost to join plus other costs involved..Know the driver..Know him well. Ask other owners for a to do list and plead for a browse over their expence/profit loss book..Good luck.
You`ll need it!!

500K? Sigurado kang brandnew ang makina at engineered and body.

Hi, I agree dun sa sinabi ni racho, my grandmother used to have 10 passenger jeepneys, sa maintenance and gasoline lang malugi ka na!

God bless you!

LTFRB is discouraging OFWs to invest in passenger jeepneys para pampasada.

Most people, when they think of Passenger Jeeps, they think only of the Jeep itself. you have to consider also the fact that you need a franchise in order to operate.

Find out first how much franchises are worth in your area. Or if franchises are available. there are some places where they have stopped issuing franchises due to the number of jeeps operating already.

as the others have said, there are lots of costs involved. consider all those first before deciding

oks ang transport business kung magaling kang maghandle ng business. you should also be the one who must drive para matutukan mo yung jeepney mo.. mahirap na pag sa iba kasi kung anupa gawin nila dun. L300 ang mas oks ngayun biyaheng makati or cavite will be nice.

Maganda bang bumili ng jeep ngayon? Kasi...

Pataas ng pataas ang gasolina

Mahirap namang magtaas ng pamasahe

Kapag masira ang jeep sakit ng ulo.

Asawa kasi ng trabahador namin may jeep e, walang kita kapag color coding at sira ang sasakyan.

Ang downside sa mga FX or van is that most of them are colorum, minsan nga kahit registered na at may sticker, hinuhuli pa din ng mga enforcer diyan para may ibubulsa, aside from that mukhang OK naman na negosyo.

I agree with the previous posters.. mas maganda ang FX compared to jeep. A friend of mine merong FX, he makes P1000 a day profit -- so, it's a better investment.

Also, you can try renting it out. Nung nasa manila ako for a vacation, nag-rent *** ng van, we paid about 2000 pesos a day + gasoline.

So, mas better talaga ang FX / van.
