TaLaGaa?? may nakUha na daw and Asst Coach ng BeNiLde, some NEW Players from a strong ncaa team opponent and just waiting for Coach Yturi to come back from his US trip..woww..who are these strong guys ba? have u heard of them kung cino sila? So it means na parang ala Salvacion cila and looks like na malakas cila?? whoever these guys are, good luck to you and hope to see you next year ncaa season 82...

A friend of mine told me that one of the Cabatu brothers of the Green Archers will play for CSB. The reason is that that particular Cabatu had problems with his acads and with the coaching staff (not Franz alone). If I'm not mistaken, Martin Urra, a former Green Archer, would also play next year for the Blazers.

GuYs, may iba pa daw nakuha and currently these 2 guys (one of which is the first 5 during his Junior year) & the other one is ??? his surname is the surname of the Big Coach, on one of Benilde's NCAA team opponent nga..

If you wanna confirm it, try to visit them sa Benilde & ask the current Trainer of the Seniors and I can assure you, he will tell you who??? EveN the security guards there knows these 2 guys.

Pagbalik ni Coach Yturi from USA, i can assure you, nandun cila....

One is 6'3 & the other one is 6'1...
Anyways, good luck to them talaga, sana nga sure na "in" na cila, kase talagang magaling cila....

Kahapon or the other day nandun daw nagTraining yung 2 "NEW" guys na cnasabi ko....nakita nung friend ko....taga _______pala ***...he is 6'3 pala yung isa at 6'1 naman yung kasama...better ask the Trainer nga eh, nandun *** kahapon...nagmagTraining nga cila ay suot nila jersey nila from their school so everyone knows kung saan school cila.....

yup ur right j_z_4_f_n, i have noticed it too... maybe that's why we have a loosing streak last season... kulang tayo sa mga players na matatangkad!i hope yung mga bagong players my talent din, para my height na my talent pa then kung ganyan ang line up ng CSB, they have a big chance to get in the final four!:D

baka yung atenean player na yun e si stan aldover, he's a former blue eaglet star na nabalitaan din to transfer and play for csb i'm sure it will be a good news for csb kung totoo nga yung news that he will be playing for the blazers next season and sana mangyari ulit yung tulad ng 2000 where both uaap and ncaa crowns are all within de la salle system schools...

Friends ang lalayo ng mga guess nyo.. wala dyan yung sinasabi ko.... he's not from the archer and he's not either from the eagles.... he's from the S...........!!!!!!! guess na lang....pero he's 6'3 talaga and the other one 6'1...... yung isa Slasher then yung isa "three".... yung "three" naging stud *** ni Jim Price ng NBA when he was training in the mid-east and he was still 15yrs. old, then he was too a student of Bobby Parks Shell Basketball clinic duing his vacation here last 2000.

Yun lang.. dami ko ng tips ah.... hehehehe.... o hayan ang dami ko ng nasabi tuloy at madami pa *** achievements which i can't anymore tell kse mahuhulaan nyo naaaaaaa.... baka mapagalitan na akoooooo....

ang alam ko si Gerald LAyug pati Harvey porras maglalaro next year for the blazers. nung 2002 sila both nagraduate from Adamson High then played their rookie season sa Adamson sa college. tapos bangko sila kaya nag benilde.. basta

yah he's the one! sabi ok naman daw maglaro.. tapos sama mo pa si urra, si cabatu. pati yung 2 mistery players na sinasabi combined with the likes of sagad and orbeta.. mukhang ok na line-up na yun! i guess there's something wrong kasi with the basketball program of csb for the past two years eh.. dati naman strong contender tlaga tyo during salvacion, magpayo and salvador years.. ***** dapat ibalik yung system wherein may team b ulit or mga practice players aside from the team a.. para makuha talaga yung pinakamagagaling! ***** naman sa 3rd yr. ni tonichi napansin na nya yung mga mali sa system nila..

Yung 2 mystery guys na nagtetraining ngayon sa csb....biglang tumigil sa pagtraining kase nalaman ng coach nila sa school nila na nagpunta cila sa csb at natanggap...u know what happen? pinabalik cila at pinaEnroll agad sa 2nd sem & 100% scholar agad then sinabihan cila bket they still need to try-out in csb while maglalaro na sila next season. So, natakot yung coach at nanghinayang kase mawawalan cila ng matatangkad at magagaling at mapupunta pa sa csb....Currently the 2players are on a difficult decision kase they dont know now who to choose....kung they will stay in their current team or transfer to csb.....

Pero i prefer talaga na join na cila sa csb kase sayang yung 6'3... besides sa magaling din *** at matangkad ay matalino pa & and was a consistent honor student from his elementary & high school years and even now na college na *** ang galing pa din nya & his grades sa IT is 90 sa classcard nya and very good in english too..
Wait lang, mga guys from csb, pwde ba yun, kahit enrolled na *** ulit sa current school nya at pwede pa din cyang join ng training sa csb kase he is waiting lang for Coach Yturi eh to come back from USA.... kase sa present school nila kino-corrupt pa yung varsity allowance nila eh...

According to Jonelle So, coach Yturri has a commitment from 2 Fil-Am players to play for CSB. No names where mentioned but the coach has been in the West Coast scouting for players and attending coaching clinics.

Pwede yan guys, but not that easy...hindi agad mkkpaglaro yang Fil-am na yan... talaga naman ang Pinoy noh.. hiindi pa kuntento sa Pure Pinoy at nakuha pang bumiahe sa USA para lang kumuha ng fil-am.. no ba yan? while madami naman makukuha dyan...just make your best choice & no need to go that far para lang gumanda ang record ng Benilde...

Coach Yturri wants to win games or he is out of a job. Since CSB is not the first or second choice of most blue chippers then the coaching staff have to be creative in finding top caliber players. Just look at the rejects of LaSalle, none of them wants to play for CSB.

Unlike the UAAP, the NCAA has more lenient rules concerning transfer students and Fil-Am. If a Fil-Am high school graduate transfers to an NCAA school upon his high school graduation, the player does not have to establish residency. If the Fil-Am player transfers after attending a foreign college, the residency requirement is only 1 year compared to the UAAP's requirement of 2 years regardless if the player is coming directly from high school.

Coach Yturri really needs to be creative or he would have to attend clinics forever. :lol:

I think not every reject of Lasalle can refuse a spot in the CSB roster. Abad was once a player for the Blazers, and now we have Urra and Cabatu playing this coming season so let's just watch what happens and hope that they can play as a cohesive team. :D

pahinga daw muna siya one year...

i also heard george gallent will take over for the time being...

As the thread title suggests, with coaching genius Johny Tam around, the players of Saint Benilde will definitely be strong. Strong with the BAP! :mad:

Tam should think twice because I will make sure he will not even reach the sidewalk in front of Saint Benilde! Kanto pa lang ng Vito Cruz haharangin ko na siya at sana natatandaan pa rin niya yung ginawa namin sa kanya sa hotel sa Kuala Lumpur pasalamat siya nakalabas siya ng buhay doon!

Does that mean na babalik pa si coach Tonichi after a year of taking a "sabbatical" rest? Please, wag naman si Tam, para nyo nang awa! Kawawa Benilde nyan for sure.

I will pick Gabby Velasco na lang over Luigi Trillo. Coach Gabby was a certified winner sa St. Francis of Assisi College and it will really be helpful if he will take over the coaching reins sa Benilde. Thanks sir Butch, pag may mga update ka pa, post mo lang dito pati sa UAAP, baka may updates ka rin.

I think Gabby Velasco's coaching stint with SFAC can help the Blazers compared with Luigi Trillo's track record with the Adu Falcons. ;)

To put it simply, he was included at the last minute by the BAP as an assistant coach to the 2001 SEA Games with a team of MBA All-Stars. Some of the coaches who helped form and train the team from Day One were not sent to Kuala Lumpur but Tam comes out of the blue and joins the trip.

Now Tam tried to hold the monetary allowances of the team for what reason I don't know. That irked the coaching staff so on the eve of our return to Manila, I happened to be in the hotel room when a heated argument between Tam and the MBA coaches ensued and fists started flying. Of course, I sided with the MBA coaches and gave Tam a few kicks since he was a really getting on my case since we boarded the plane bound for KL at the NAIA ten days earlier.

cabatu and urra will be good additions considering the lack of talent CSB had last season....plus their big bodies...

You don't have to worry about DLSU plucking players from CSB. They have their own talent scouts working for them. :D

Medyo malabo ata mangyari ito. May kanya-kanyang scouts naman yung both schools eh. Pati bago pa magkaroon ng issue ng "sungkitan" of basketball talents, I'm sure that La Salle will fix this thing kaagad since they are sister schools.

The three new additions - Cabatu, Urra and # 34 all from 6'4" - 6'5" have not jelled with their team mates. They lost horribly to FEU by 25 points in last weeks Home & Away game at FEU gym. They may improve your chances next season though.

There was an interview last summer of coach Yturri in one of the Manila papers where he revealed that he was recruiting for Fil-Ams in the West coast. Did he find any players?
Di na dadalhin ni Tonichi yung mga players niya from West Coast. Nakalimutan ko na kung san ko nabasa yun but I remember that meron siyang na-recruit kaya lang since he is not connected anymore with CSB so he decided not to bring in the boys anymore.

Last year pa yang news kay Stan Aldover playing for CSB. Wala namang nag-confirm dito sa PEX about this news. He will be a good addition also for CSB if he opts to play for the Blazers. Kaso sayang din kasi hindi siya nakapsok sa Ateneo varsity.

No I did not see stand aldover in the game. It has been over 2 years since I last saw him in Team B of ADMU in the MICABA games. There are a lot of new faces in the CSB team and they do not have names in their jerseys. So I can not help you in naming the players.

Nabasa ko sa diyaryo na na-draft din sina Carlo Manding at Jeff Morial ng Welcoat at sila raw nakarami ng rounds sa pagpili ng draft pick. Sana mag-improve nga ang Blazers through the help of Welcoat and Coach Caloy. Balita ko si Yturri coach ng karibal na pbl team. :D

ANIMO BENILDE!!!Not actually karibal team because the coaching staff is composed of Tonichi Yturri and Derrick Pumaren. Harbour Centre's owner Mikee Romero is also a La Sallian as I've heard (just correct this if I'm wrong) and he just bought the team rights of AMP-Ateneo. They are also planning to merge the leftovers of the AMP-Ateneo team with the leftovers of the ICTSI lineup consisting of Jerwin Gaco and Mac Cardona since they are the ones who are out of the UAAP lineup of De La Salle.

Mac hasn't signed with Welcoat as of the moment although he was seen practicing with the team. I've also read that Mac's just been released by Welcoat to Harbour Centre. Quite confusing though because how will they be able to release Mac if Mac has yet to sign with the team. Maybe they are just trying to say that Welcoat has just ran out of interest in getting Mac as of this point.

Let's just wait for further developments in this issue. I will gladly support Mac whichever team he opts to play in the PBL.

Several team B players of UP are suppose to have transferred to Benilde. The team B players of UP were pushed aside in Diliman with the large influx of graduate students transfering to UP in Vainio, Padolina and Gavino from DLSU and college transfers like Braganza and Astorga. I am not sure if all 4 UP team B players are transfering to Benilde but they are Maderal, Manlapaz, Marinas and Sevilla.

Sevilla plays SF n SG.. may shooting naman from the outside naaalala ko way back his Tiong Lian days naka-attempt pa siya ng isang out of balanced shot to bring the game into the overtime tapos nanalo.. pero he's more of a slasher.. may time nga pati buhok niya same kay kobe bryant eh hehehe.. actually kabatch ko siya and when he played for his last year nakalaban ng school namin yung team nila Ken Bono and Hugnatan and we won the game nung elimination pero natalo na nung finals ata yun or semis.. hope this info helps

for NCAA yeah he's too small. he's more of an SG actually he got the quickness and an outside shot. but hindi ko na siya nakita maglaro after the Champions League 2 years ago ata yun nung nasa UP siya. if ever i got some more news about sevilla i'll just post it here

Sevilla may have been trying to make the UP team as a pg. Manlapaz played the 5 in UPIS but he is to short to play the position in college. A 3 or 4 is a better option if he has any range on his outside shot. The others are wing players.
