First, I really hope the moderators lock this thread before I get any more stupid excuses like fielding in third-year non-accounting majors in a finance contest. Second, I graduated from UP; not from the college of BA, but from another college.
What I hate about UP is that it is starting to see itself as a player in these silly inter-school pissing contests.
UP is like a man given a mission by God Almighty. It's supposed to create good professionals out of good material. It's not supposed to spend its resources on school advertising under the guise of 'friendly competition'.
Private schools are like homosexuals. They spend mightily on activities that advertise their supposed superiority over other schools. Quite simply, they try to make themselves more attractive than the rest. The stakes are high for them. People pay good money for their services.
A real man hardly cares about his appearance. He is neutral about the way people think of him. Good apparel, fair skin and delicate bone structure is for gays because that's what's important them!
The last FINEX win showed everyone just what UP is capable of when it focuses its intellectual resources on something as silly as inter-school competions. Is that what people pay their taxes for?
Outside of the FINEX competion, do people know that one unit in UP MBA now costs P2,500? This was recently adjusted from P500. The reason for this is that other MBA schools charge more than P3,500 and UP-MBA is right up there when it comes to quality of instruction.
You see it? UP (or part of it) is losing its manhood and joining its sisters in the Sodom and Gomorah of financial returns and trivial prestige.
