Ateneo Wins Makati Hope School-csb Intervarsity Debating Championships

Congratulations to Ateneo B, composed of Leloy Claudio and Anna Santos who won the CSB IV Final as Closing Opposition in a debate about servicing the national debt or prioritizing development. Ateneo A, composed of Jess Lopez and Charisse Borromeo were the Opening Government in the Final. Other schools represented in the Final were UP Diliman and DLSU.

Leloy Claudio and Anna Santos topped the speaker tabs as well, emerging as Best Speaker and Best Rookie Debater respectively.

Ateneo had a strong showing in the IV. 5 out of 6 teams broke in the Top 16 of the tournament, however ADMU D (DS Corpuz and Cris Jacoba)and F (Czarina Medina and Chico Versoza) at 10 and 11 respectively were victims of the break cap. ADMU A broke at 9 points unbeaten for all the 3 rounds. ADMU B broke at 2nd, with ADMU C (Sharmila Parmanand and Patricia Suzara) breaking at 5 and reaching the semi-finals.
