Hi.

While it's true that there are negotiations (i.e. Budget review for the possibility of a Smart-San Beda team) it is still - to quote the SBC coaching staff, UNDER NEGOTIATIONS.

To everyone out there who admires the Lions and believes in the capacity of Coach Nash Racela to bring the old glory back to the red shirts, let's not pre-empt the future, rather pray for their continued success.

Regardless of criticism, for a system to have worked under the limited time given them to prepare, an inherited, barely reworked lineup and still to have made it to the final four, my hat off to the entire coaching staff of the San Beda Red Lions and the players as well.

Not to take it away from any of the other teams in the NCAA this year who played their hearts out - the Cardinals' Andrew Salud has my salute too. The 9 players of the UPHDS Altas who proved that miracles are possible. The Letran Knights and Squires that proved they're still a basketball kingdom to be reckoned with. There's so much talent and effort here to commend.

Congratulations to the San Beda Red Cubs and the PCU Dolphins who have made this year truly historical.

Let's watch out for more developments in the off-season with PBL and other leagues to further develop and sustain the growth of the NCAA.

Congratulations to the NCAA. Mabuhay ang Atletang Pinoy!

I spoke with Fr. Rector a week ago told me that the PBL sent and invitation to San Beda, addressed to the Rector's office, inviting San Beda to field a team in the PBL. The thing here is, the negotiations, yes, are ongoing but one of the coaches I spoke with also last week told me that the invitation was only for a GUEST TEAM. It's not only San Beda that was given an invitation to field a guest team but the other collegiate schools as well because of the reason that some teams in the PBL have pulled out of the league, making it a smaller amateur league. However, the Red Lions are still yet to confirm if San Beda will be a guest team on March's PBL conference. If San Beda will NOT serve as a guest team, then MVP will try to shell out to sponsor the Red Lions. Otherwise, no corporate sponsor for the Red Lions if San Beda is going to play as a guest team.

the explanation is close enough...

the guest team appellation will enable the team to get a feel for the competition before either pursuing membership in the future or dropping the idea.

im meeting mike advani thursday morning, we will know by then...

That's what Manny Pangilinan is arguing about with the committe of the PBL, because he don't want his team to be just a GUEST in the league
