4. San Sebastian Stags missing the final four for the first time in 9 years.

5. Heart pumpiping final four tie breaker battle between Mapua and San Beda with the later clinching the last ticket.

6. Regular final 4 teams failed to make it, others get their chance in the NCAA crown; SSC - 1st time to be eliminated since 1996 & JRU - 1st time since 1999. San Beda's inclusion in the final 4.

7. Rising of PCU in the Men's basketball supremacy.

8. Teams new coaches (Racela - San Beda, Tolentino - PCU & Calilan - Jose Rizal)

9. Injuries of players that hamper their team's campaign.

10. Slightly gain media exposure aside from ABS-CBN.
