guys,

I have been obsessed with opening up a ticketing office since dati pa, as mahilig ako magtravel at magticketing...sa mga nakaopen na ng ganitong business, magkano ang start up capital nyo at paano kayo nakakuha ng contacts? magkano ang neto nyo per ticket? Paano pala ang franchising pag ticketing ofice lang? I went to the franchise seminar last week sa world trade..may nagoofer ng franchise pero mahal at puros bus ticketing lang..anyone knows where to apply pag gusto mo maginternational?(flights. hotels etc)
(I know you have to have a consolidator and etc..to those who have this business..ticketing domestically..kumikita pa ba kayo or sakit lang ng ulo?)

thanks for the inputs!

pagkaalam ko medyo malaki rin ang capital ng mga ticketing agencies, sa bond palang that you have to pay the airlines for the tickets malaki na...

alam ko nga malaki..I inquired at surex noong franchise expo...kasama na ups at western union...pero cebu pacific ticketing office lang, would cost you at least 800,000-1.1. million start up fee...I want kasi na kasama na PAL eh...hindi lang Cebu Pacific para makuha mo both markets..

In detail how much would it cost to put up your own travel agency? What costs are there to consider?

how much is the bond for the consolidator here? sa US alam ko 50,000 US dollars but you have to find a sponsor to sponsor that bond..dito kaya?

I guess you want to put up is actually an IATA ticketing office.. but actually if you wanted to put a NON- IATA ticketing.. you can work with a small capital..

Hi fellow PeXers, I would like to know if someone has knowledge on how to start a travel agency... Siguro at first ticket outlet lang for domestic routes then maybe strick a deal with the hotels for vacation packages...

I would appreciate your replies! Good day...

Try contacting WG&A. I think they will let you sell their tickets after taking some seminars and passing certification tests.

Guys, any idea how much initial capital is needed?

How about setting up as an authorized agent of PAL, what needs to be done?

...ummm...in theory...as what we were taught in school... mga P500,000....pero sabi ng friend ko..ok na yung P150,000-P200,000...wala pang location yata yun... pero included na yung bayad pa sa SEC, sa mga permit at kung ano ano pang documents na kailangan para maging legal yung establishment mo :D

you need to be an IATA before you can be an authorized agent of PAL.....

IATA = int'l association of travel agents...

to be an IATA meron silang 4M reqmt na gross income per year i think and meron silang 100T (or more) na parang membership fee.......

pero you can still sell PAL tickets even if you're a non-IATA..... just hook up with an IATA ..... bale sa IATA dadaan ang transaction mo w/ PAL......

I also am interested in setting up my own travel agency. I think there's a difference between being a TOUR OPERATOR and just a TRAVEL AGENCY. It's cheaper to set up a travel agency since you have a sponsor TOUR OPERATOR.

Any information on this? I haven't contacted TLRC yet but if you have information regarding this, please post here. Thanks.

these kind of businesses will soon be obsolete. i can bet my balls here.

ang pag book ngayon, pwedeng text na lang. ang ticket ngayon, ine-email na lang.

It's true that we're moving to a cashless and ticketless society. However, there will always be a need for travel agencies.

I have a partnership with a company that constantly requires travel packages. So I'm still interested in how to go about this.

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks. ;)

I suggest you post your request for a business plan or an introductory write up on this business at http://seeknomore.blogspot.com/. They usually do favors such as this if you just ask them.
