Are you serious? I have never seen anyone pa who wears their cellphone(s) over their neck even here in America(even celebrities I have never seen any one). Unless na lang seguro if they really want other people to know what cellphone they are using & the ones who doens't have a taste seguro-ok lang seguro pagsumunod sa fashion wag lang yong katawa-tawa . May ibang fashion nga din na ngayon katawa-tawa & has no taste. PEACE

nope & i think, i never will. where would you place it anyway?
nakasukbit sa balakang? - eh pangmatanda yan eh. para kang may belt bag na dala.
naka palupot sa leeg ang ear piece with phone on hand. para kang waiter. kulang nalang eh clipboard.
sorry i like my phone but i don't like showing it off. that is quite juvenile.

show off the cellphone you skipped meals for....next thing you know some dude beside you has exactly the same cellphone, only he snatched it from another unfortunate citizen.
it is just lame and plain stupid.

sometimes i wear my cellie around my neck (with a neckstrap, of course) but not to show it off.
minsan kasi sunod-sunod ang calls and texts that putting it in and out of my bag is too much trouble.
on topic: the answer is No.

A cellphone is a fashion statement - whether you show it or not. That's why people keep changing fones (and adding accessories) - because it's the latest trend.
I think the question of the threadstarter is whether you change the phone casings/faces or add accessories or ringtones or whatever.

A cellphone is not necessarily a fashion statement.
(What’s the criteria for categorizing something as a fashion statement?)
Nway, I don’t use my phone as a fashion statement, I use it primarily for communication. Trying way too hard when someone waves the latest model in public places (wala namang load or worse it was bought stolen from some alley).

According to Queer Eye, the cellphone is not a fashion accessory so remove it from your belt thankyou :D

i do however customize my ringtone. it makes my cellphone mine.
hirap kasi pag generic ringtones. minsan kala mo phone mo yung nag-ring, eh sa katabi mo pala. hehe
i have no problems with peeps using an earpiece or bt headset nor those who wear their phone on their belts, basta isa lang at di over. to each his own.

of course it's a fashion statement (gadget-wise). lalo na kung maganda phone mo. it's like having an ipod. or having a vaio laptop. or having a nice fixed up car.
and yes, my ringtone is an mp3.

but do you wear an iPod? moreso of a vaio laptop. i know i dont wear my laptop clipped on my belt or have my iPod on display on my carpenter's pants.
(ooooh how techy! cell on your neck, laptop clipped on your waist, iPod on the hook of your pants!) GO OUT & strut your stuff!

I think we're taking the term "fashion statement" too literally by thinking that it is something that you must wear. The last time I checked my dictionary, fashion meant the prevailing style or trend, as in dress or behavior. Yes, it may not be a fashion accessory that you wear (the Fab Five are right, don't wear it on your belt), but it doesn't make it any less of a fashion statement.
You don't need to wear it. Buying a certain mobile phone model and using it is a statement in itself. Fitting it with accessories is another. You "strut" it around when you use it to call or text somebody.

It is sometimes fun to watch businessmen/women (who are supposed to be grown and mature) strut their phones at meetings. When they meet they shake hands and exchange business cards. Then they make small talk while they settle in their seats. When it's time for serious business they lay their phones on the table as if they're displaying their genitals (palakihan???). Whoever has the latest model is bound to get noticed, especially if the phone happens to ring in the middle of the meeting. Rudeness.
BTW - no stock ringtones, please. Must be downloaded or, better, custom made.

nah, ansimple lang palagi ng mga phones ko.
:elk:
though I want to customize my phone a bit more. tamad akong magkalkal ng files to download. I want hot wallpapers, more exciting tones, more software (must remind self to get an mp3 player & e-mail client installed next time after getting my unit reformatted), & a spanking brand new housing, as in di lang faceplate.

no. never.
as long as it is light, small, and user-friendly, i'm happy. i don't care for colored screens, built-in cam, or other features except txt messaging.
i only owned 2 cellphones in a span of 6 years. the first one doesn't even count because it was the only prevailing model at that time that was reasonably-priced. besides, i had to get it for work.
the second phone was bought second hand.

i think what is meant by the thread is how much you are concerned about the aesthetics of your phone...being a fashion statement does not literally mean that it is part of what you wear...
i prefer the trendy looking phones (e.g the colorful ones) over the business-like phones (e.g. yung plain color lang like silver or black).
actually when it comes to choosing a phone, the aesthetics are more important to me than the actual features...go figure...
i like things which are pretty....i can't stand to own a phone that just drab and plain-looking...
there's this new phone, the nokia 3220, which looks really cool...tapos it has this special feature called light or wave messaging wherein u can write messages in the air...wala lang...it looks really cool...:)

No way that I'll show off my phone, but I do bring my headset kasi mahilig ako makinig sa FM radio to keep me from getting bored while on travel. And I always put it in silent/vibrating alert mode. Mobilephones are designed for communication and technology purposes NOT for fashion.

Well, this is another sore subject to discuss. As we know, a lot young people is technology sabby and they tend to like to have to newest/fastest and more button/menu to choose from. Wearing on the belt, around your neck, on your pocket, on your purse (ladies only, questionable for men),or what or wherever you choose to place you phone is your choice. I have both company phone and personal, and wear both on my belt, due to fact when someone calls me, I don't like to be fumbling around trying to find it out of my backpack or pocket. And, I do use hands free ( the cheapest one from the mall ) when making and receiving call while driving or sometimes even when I'm working (free up my hand for writing). When I'm on a meeting, I put my cellphone on the table because it get on the way of seating comfortably (plus, something to twirl around while waiting for the meeting to start).

*pexadik*-- Of course not! :shakehead: owning a cellphone is a big necessity, not just a piece of junk that you can display to boost your "image".
