I am a fan of the movies and was wondering if any of you have read some of the post-Return of the Jedi novels. They are extremely well written and are worthy of the Star Wars name. For instance, Luke is married, Han and Leia have three children all of whom are Jedi, and our favorite heroes now face a threat from another Galazy perhaps as great as the Empire posed and maybe even greater! Writers like Timothy Zahn and Michael Stackpole are first rate Sci-Fi writers.

I've read a trilogy by Timothy Zahn, I think it was supposed to be the events after "Return of the Jedi". I liked it well enough, but I didn't feel like reading about Han and Leia's kids. I take it they're just as good as the trilogy?

Zahn is the best of the Star Wars writers. The progression is great and it is fascinating to me how the Star Wars Universe has expanded in many ways. I think if you pick up some of the books featuring the kids you will be pleasantly surprised.

Yes! I've actually gotten some hand-me-down novels from my Kuya and I love the post-Star Wars novels! Very detailed and just as exciting and adventurous as the movies! I think there's a novel written inbetween the original trilogy, to provide a link between missing pieces. I forget what title it was.
Anyway, it's exciting to know what's happened with Luke and the gang. Sci-fi readers, I think, will enjoy it immensely! :)

The first Zahn trilogy was great! I wish they'd make it into a full blown movie. Admiral Thrawn was one of a kind. After that however it all went downhill, Anderson's trilogy was predictable and had too many "loveteams" ho hum...
Zahn has a new trilogy out (I think two books out of the trilogy na sulat na niya) but haven't found a copy of that here yet...

i've read quite a lot of post-Return of the Jedi novels, and some of them are pretty good stuff, particularly novels by zahn and stackpole. probably the best one i've read so far is vector prime, coz it's got a really cool plot, and it contains some interesting developments...

Kamats:
The Thrawn trilogy was great. I have read the 2 subsequent Zahn books ( I don't think its a trilogy - just 2) and in it Thrawn is back (or is he really Thrawn) and it concludes with final peace with the remnants of the Empire and Luke proposing marriage to Mara Jade! Of course by Vector Prime, they are already married and the Solo children are Jedis.
