Generally, they should not be fixed. They are physical defects on your hard disk and they serve as sign posts so as to prevent you from writing and losing data to these defective sectors.

You can't fix a bad sector on a harddisk!

pwede mo ipa-patch yung bad sector na yun using software utilities para ndi na sya lagyan pa ng data. pero gaya ng sabi nila ... ndi yun nafi-fix dahil yung hardware mismo ang may prob dyan

Fwiw, the fact that you encountered a bad sector means that that particular sector is already marked as “unwritable” in the file allocation table.

Unless all or most sectors in your hard disk are bad, it should still be usable, though not as reliable as before. RMA - Return to Merchant Authorization yata

It's only a bad sector, why should you throw it? A bad sector is what it is, a "bad sector". It is already marked as bad and no data will be written on that sector. Today's HDDs are actually cleaner than the HDs of old. HDDs that comes clean then are what my former boss said as a "rare beasts". During the PC XT/AT days, most HDDs already comes with mapped bad sectors by the manufacturers. Current HDDs comes clean with no bad sectors at all.
RMA is you can return the item under warranty.
