View Full Version : Laos na ba Levis?

Pansin ko lang when I pass by their stores na wala na masyado tao sa loob. At saka yung contest dito sa PEX, wala masyado sumali.

I have two pairs of Levis jeans and honestly, they're not my favorites.

I love Levi's because it's such a classic! However, I think people aren't buying them anymore because you can get 2-3 pairs of jeans in the tiangges for the price of 1 pair of Levi's...

Like what ChiQui said, Levi's is already a classic.

I've got a number of shirts and polo's... I never get tired of wearing them especially pag nasa field ako. It just makes me feel relaxed.

What keeps Levis alive is their reputation. Sure they might not have enough of the trendier or the less expesnive offerings of other labels (and the non-labels, too). And hey, they still make quality jeans made of great fabrics (I for one prefer the more stiff fabric they use). You get what you pay for.

I love the pagka-fade ng mga jeans ng Levi's... truly classic...

levi's will always be levi's... however, they're not as aggresive as before when it comes to marketing... plus, when they come out with ads, they're not that visually stimulating... you remember that spaceman ad of levi's from before? where they used that babylon zoo song? now that was an ad... it's all about imaging and lately, levi's image has gone down... it's not that youth oriented anymore and we know that it's all about young 'uns these days haha... and yeah, levi's is too identified with the rocker, bohemian image... these days, most fashionistas are into the whole hip-hop lifestyle...

another thing, their styles may be good and construction is also good but so are a lot of other jean brands... plus, the price leaves you thinking that for the price of a pair, i can buy several pairs of cheaper brands or just add a couple hundred bucks more and get a good pair of designer jeans on sale...

I always look at a pair of levi's with a white round neck shirt as the classic look. Looks so fresh and clean whether it's a guy or a girl wearing them.

I don't think Levi's will every go out of style. Especially for older people (like me! aargh!) who grew up wearing Levi's.

I have three pairs of 501's and several straight-cut models because they fit me the best and they're always the right length for me.

i don't think levis will go out of style. classic kasi sya. it just so happens na maraming cheaper brands ang lumalabas. and since times are hard, ok na din kasi di gaanong kilala ang tatak.

pero in fairness, tibay talaga ng levis ha.

Hmm... It really depends on who's wearing it. I have 3 pairs of Levi's jeans and they're pretty fine for me. Oh and probably most pinoys find it cheaper to buy jeans at tiangge's or greenhills (teka, tiangge yun ah) and the like. It really boils down to who's wearing it.

Good evening folks, i think i need a bit of help here. The most recent pair of Levi's I had is the 577 model... i'm afraid i'm a bit ignorant about the fit of the 501... i'm hoping someone can tell me more about its general fit and cut... *grin*....

Levi's will always be Levi's... they invented the jeans for goodness' sake! I have other brands of jeans in my closet but my most loved pair is my Levi's with whisker marks. The design may be "so 2 years ago" but I still love to wear it because it has perfect fit (waist and length). And unlike my other non-Levi's pairs, it seems to age "gracefully."

off topic: magkano na ba ang isang pantalon ng levi's?

2500-2800 yata ngayon yung 501

i have 2 pairs of levis and yung isa ndi ko na sinusuot kasi super luma na and gutay gutay na. i bought that when I was in highschool and it doesn;t fit me anymore. tumaba ako e. pero napansin ko lang konti na talaga mga designs nila tsaka mahal nga kaya siguro parang ndi na sya ganon ka sikat. pero when it comes to quality, levi's is the best.

talaga bang philippine made na yung levi's..i mean dito ginagawa talaga kasi yon nakikita ko sa tatak sa loob.

Hindi naman siguro laos ang levis.

Badtrip lang kasi size 38 ang biggest size nila.

To the levi's people, there are people out there who have waists sizes 40 and above who would like to wear your jeans!!!!!!

Bad trip kayo! :(

i love their type 1, kaso di pa ako nakakabili, pinag-iipunan ko pa :) i also love the levi's jeans that i own.

at saka kaya siguro wala masyadong bumibili kasi sobrang tibay ng levi's, you'll count years before you need to buy a new pair. hindi kagaya ng ibang jeans na pag faded na pangit na. ang levi's kasi the more faded it gets, the better it looks.

sabi nga nila..quality never goes out of style..

i just bought a pair last sunday!

yah! kailangan ko muna mag ipon just to buy a pair...
i like levi's fit, lalo na yung SUPERLOW! kahit umupo ka e hindi sya bumubuka sa may likod na part... pwedeng di na mag belt,
and kahit ndi stretch yung tela!

and it's a keeper! sobra matibay sya compared sa murang jeans!
siguro don sila lamang! ;p

I have 5 pairs which I bought back in the mid-nineties: flare, bootleg, slim, and straight and 501. Used to save up my baon just to buy a pair.

Nowadays, for 2500 bucks, I'd add 1500 bucks and get a diesel. Or for less than 1K get a more stylish pair at the tiangge or at the dept store...I don't think I'd pay 2500 for a Levi's pair.

I agree, their positioning is kinda confused nowadays, they have a lower-end brand at Walmart's and the higher-end engineered jeans.

And what exactly is the quality aspect abt? The fabric is matigas (like the earlier CK jeans), the stitching is standard (same company who makes jag/lee), and not many designs to choose from...

in my opinion, kaya naging "laos" ang levi's is because of their promotions and positioning. they need to improve those. i agree very much with spicyham.
for the price, makakabili ka ng other brands na mas "upscale" ang dating. matigas yung fabric kasi pag suot ko levi's ko, di ako nakakatulog sa couch or anywhere. mas comfy yung guess jeans ko.

the levis i have arent too comfortable. i REALLY wish they start the custom made service here. if they start having that... then maybe i will consider buying them again. matigas talaga kasi denim nila eh. i wish they would carry the stretchable denim fabric. in the states, levis is nice and offers so many options. here... styles are just too limited.

what a thread man!!
LEVI'S will NEVER GO OUT OF STYLE. CLASSIC.
All my jeans are Levi's. I've been wearing them since sixth grade. Naarbor na nga ng sis ko un mga favorite pair ko kaya hanap na lang ako bago haha I have 8-10 pairs 577, 599, type1 ndi ko alam un iba hehe tsaka meron din ako 2 denim skirt nila and, like, 6 tops. ndi ko lang masyado na-tripan un engineered jeans kc labo nung hemline sa mei paa ndi ko malaman kung anong footwear dapat isuot ko haha parang ndi pinoy fit

ever since i was a grade schooler, levis na ang jeans ko. until now i still love my levis jeans. although hindi na rin ako bumibili coz 2500 is too much for a pair of levis. dagdag na lang ng konti eh diesel na.

Levis was the brand prefered before but they definitely must reinvent themselves in terms of advertising and design in order to recapture a significant segment of the youth today. I used to prefer levis kasi maganda ang fit at hindi maliit tignan yung bandang ****. But now I shifted to Girbaud, Replay, and Diesel not just because of the name but their style.
