If you're asking if that course can be a pre-law, yes, it can serve as a pre-law qualification; I know several people who used it as their pre-law and have just recently passed the stiff, UP-LAE. Now, if you are asking if that qualification is better than Political Science, that is hard to guess since there has no statistical data, even abroad, which prove, which amongst the several pre-law courses can serve as a better preparation to go to Law School.

If your gf wishes to go to UP Law, you should however, encourage her to take up pre-law in UP-Diliman as statistics could tell that about 60% to 65% of the successful applicants in UP-LAE in each year have earned their undergraduate degree from there.

BTW, did she pass BE in UPD?

Could your romantic relationship be getting in the way of your better judgment? Are you really recommending pol sci because it is "better" or because you will be closer to each other?

Think of what can be good for her in the long run. If she is pursuing not only a good course (which I happen to think BE is) but also one she likes, that can be a very powerful combination.

"are"

in any case, if you are one of the "supermale" or "superfemale" you'd find a very comfortable niche in feminist philosophy.

i can't help but notice the choice of words in your posts…

You know what, for someone who constantly notices everyone’s mistake is but a manner attributable to homosexuals. I believe you are gay because you posses the qualities and manners that are obviously common to gay people. It’s obvious that you are a gay so don’t hide it further coz it would just drain your limited energy. But it’s not that I discriminate gays only what gay people’s annoying actions. You know that usual stuff they carry-out to straight people such like the manner you constantly displayed here in the forum? Instead of them focusing to the issue, they set their focus to petty stuff that are just supposed to be side issues making their comments like rubbish inside a bin.

Frankly speaking, I cannot remember you got yourself involved in a high-quality, sensible debate, rebutting the issues point-by-point, pound-per-pound. What you do, however, is merely to NOTICE grammatical lapses of each and every post there is and if you can’t find any, you then offer them “ice-cream”. Isn’t that weird???

actually, any undergrad course would be fine for taking up law later on. the only reason why i suggested philo is that students could cope with almost any situation because philosophy exposes them to almost everything under the sun to some extent. i think accountancy would be adequate preparation for being a corporate lawyer, although i'm not so sure for the other specialiazations.

business economics is a great course. not only would you learn about behavior of people ( with proofs and models to back it out, not just purely on opinion :) ). :) Economics explains human behavior, and even quantifies it. It would be useful in your law proper , not in terms of how well you regress your economic model or how you did well in mathematical economics, but how you understood intuitive economics , and assured that it is backed up by a mathematical model that at least approximates the actions:)

I'm in Business Economics in UPD and a lot of my friends from the batches ahead of me passed LAE. Not only that, they're all doing pretty well in Law. I think the main thing here is the training that the course itself gives you in terms of analysis. Political Science is okay, although they traditionally don't do that well in Law (my friend from Polsci says it's because of the different points of view of both courses).

If your only reason to stop your girlfriend from going to Diliman is because you want to be closer to her, then why don't you just go to Diliman as well? I'd definitely say she'll have a stronger chance of getting into UP Law if she takes up Business Economics.
