Mas-mahal *** multi-coated *** lens.

for mall based optical shops, the last glasses i've had binili ko lang sa sale bin ng rita optical sa glorietta.

I've been thinking about doing this for a long time already! :) Kahit saang optical shop ba, nag-aagree sila na palitan ang lens? And how much magagastos for the replacement and everything? :) Thanks a lot!

yes, any optical shop will do lens for you, even if you didn't buy the frame from them...

do try george optical or vinas in virra mall...

i am currently using silhouette frame with airware lenses...total bill: P9,000. =)

try sabater pascual, they're good and fairly priced :) ... my friends buy their frames from me :D ... i wouldn't recommend yun sa i2i, disposable type mga frames nila e for their sunglasses

sabater carries some brands which others don't, like Alain Mikli...however, because of this, they can command a higher price...i used to get my frames there but since i'm buying common branded frames, i usually canvass first, and end up buying sa iba...but if you want one of a kind frames, sabater is the place...
try J Vinas at Shangri-La...they have Rodenstock there, something "rare" here...and brands like Kata...=)

Mango has some very nice shades. They range from 1600-2000 I think. I bought mine there (it broke nga lang)

I think the multicoated lenses are better for eliminating glare, especially when you work in front of a computer a lot.

meron din na scratch resistance and shock proof para dun sa walang under frame na style na eyeglasses pero medyo mahal..

Ideal is highly recomended. And the eye doctor there is one hot lady!

I call her Dr. Honey (atleast in my mind)

Yes, I was told that for rimless frames that screw into a hole drilled in the lens, multicoated lenses are mandatory.

Among the frame brands around, which brand will you recommend? And where to find 'em?

Safilo makes good quality, affordable frames. Not exactly cheap, but remember that your eyeglasses are on your face and are what people will be seeing the most of when talking to you.

I would avoid "designer" frames since most of your money will be paying for the designer's name on an otherwise cheap, mass-produced frame. There are some exceptions but this is a good general rule.

^ Ideally, I'd go for Oakley prescription frames. Sobrang tibay. My brother has one at kahit maipit niya sa car or sa bed pag natutulog buo pa rin yung salamin.

The only downside of it is the price. Mahal.

Basically you need polarized sunglasses. Lots of brands make them.

Are Safilo's sold locally?
Like around how much for a pair?
This ain't just a fashion eyeglass, right? Are they durable?

Can you swear by Oakley Prescription's durability?
Like when you accidentally sleep with your glasses on or when you accidentally sat on it both the frame and the lens are still good?
I've had these accidents and I end up buying a new pair. :(

Yes Safilo frames are available locally at many optical shops. They usually cost P3k upwards. They're well made and durable.

when i started using multi coated lenses, my grade stopped increasing. i suggest you use them so you get protected from the uv rays of your monitor.
