i am graduating in less than 6 weeks. im already mapping out my options for post graduate studies. ive asked around and from what ive gathered, i learned that most masteral degrees require at least 2 years work experience. im considering ATENEO, LA SALLE, and AIM.
what are the schools that provide the best/quality graduate programs? what else do i need to know?
sa mga nagmamasters dyan, bigay naman kayo ng tips and warnings...
thanks.

Aside from the schools mentioned above, UP also has good graduate programs, though not necessarily cheaper ( it depends on the graduate course you pick).
Similar to other graduate schools, you will be expected to read beyond the scope of your lectures at your own initiative. You'll also have a lot of papers to write.
You will be required to maintain a certain grade prior to being allowed to make a thesis. After successfully defending your paper, you will be awarded your masteral degree.
Please make sure you are truly interested in graduate course you plan to take up. That way, no matter how hard the course is, you'll find yourself enjoying graduate school life.
Good luck. Happy Studying;)

do not forget that several programs also require the passing of their respective comprehensive exams.
failing it twice will disqualify the candidate from the program.
say good bye to your master's degree.

it would seem your use of the term "masteral program" refers exclusively to MBA. my opinion? don't look at MBA as a real masteral program. think of it more as a second degree.

Yes, you need to pass the comprehensive exams (in my case Oral, Written and Practical Exams) in order to be allowed to make your thesis proposal, then you defend your thesis then you get your Master's degree.

what kind of program do you intend to apply for anyway?

well heres the thing: my mom is suggesting "business" since they are planning to set up a brokerage firm in my name (if and only if its fine with me).
but i already told them that i am not much into that. ive gone thru some lists of graduate degree courses and so far, what has caught my attention were these 3:
- european studies
- education
- environmental science (although this is the least appealing because im required to take refresher courses in science)
by the way, if u were wondering, my course right now is bachelor of science in commerce major in marketing and advertising. its a computer-based course.
and to those who gave their comments, thanks a WHOLE lot! :D

the courses you stated may not require any work experience. so it's all up to you...

im thinking about the MBA.
i know i already said that im not into the analytical stuff, the finances, everything about business. just that right now, i dont see myself in an 8-5 office job, behind a desk on the phone or attending meetings.
i visualize myself teaching kids or touring the country saving endangered species or studying the european union so that i can work for the welfare of the filipino immigrants there. thats my kind of thing.
but when i think about the brokerage and the money involved, its also tempting. i just dont wanna be stuck in a job that im not passionate about. basically, im torn between what i like and what is practical.
mahirap ba mag masters or second degree? right now, im burnt out from studying. i find thesis and defending in front of professional panelists draining and intimidating. usually, gaano katagal ang duration ng masters degree?

i don't see how an MBA fits into your future plans. i guess the best thing you can do right now is just get a job first, then figure out your whole grad school dilemma in 2-3 more years.
