Kung sa kagandahan ng Santo Tomas U, lalo pa itong pinaganda at pinaayos pagkatapos ng apat na taong mula nang huli mong makita. Naabutan mo pa yung Beato Angelico Bldg? Ngayon naman ay nire-renovate ang gymnasium at kasalukuyang tinatayo ang Research Complex Bldg at Buildings & Grounds Office. Inilagay na rin ang Millenium gate sa Espana side ng UST noong Paskuhan '99.

SA MGA NAGAGANAP? Maraming concerts sa loob ng campus.

1.Katatapos lang ng PAROKYA NI EDGAR noong isang linggo. Doon sila nag-show sa Engineering Complex.

2. Katatapos lang ng Thomasian Week. Daming activities, shows, exhibits, festivals, competitions/contests, at may hholy mass syempre sa Santissimo Rosario Parish.

3. Sa mga nakaraan, nanalo ang UST Singers ng highly coveted na CHOIR OF THE WORLD sa Europe. Sila lang ang tanging Asian Choir na pumasok sa Finals, sila pa ang nag-champion beating Sweden, Romania, China, USA, Russia, UK, Italy, etc. Sila rin ang nagtamo ng Premio de Publico! Kaya Choir of the World, kasi tatlong categories yung nakuha nilang 1st place.

4. Nanalo rin sila sa ITALY last year!

5. Nagchampion din ang UST Debaters Team sa Australia at UK! Sila ang representative ng Pilipinas when they beat UP and La Salle sa Finals. Nakuha rin nila ang best speaker award.

6. Nag-no.1 sa last Board exam ang Medicine student natin. Some landed in the Top 10 too!

Oh, Tomasino na ba ngayon ang tawag sa mga taga-UST? In my time - we were called Tomasians. Not only am I a College of Education alumna, EHS grad din. How great is that? :) Also, have a niece, currently in her junior year in Nutrition, & her brod is an Engineering alumnus, & their mom was a Chemical Eng. undergrad - she transferred to Adamson U - yikes! :)
During my Balikbayan last Dec. - chanced 2 c d campus - Earnshaw Blvd. side (?) on our way 2 Malolos, Bulacan - almost overwhelmed w/ nostalgia.

Going 4ward - will visit this thread whenever I can to keep up w/ waz da latest on my alma mater - if I'm welcome, pls. pretty pls. :)

Way to go UST Pharmacy Glee Club!

Not surprising tho.....during the late 80's (inay! I'm a vinatge wine na pala) I used to be a member/officer of this great choral group. We were the only college/faculty to have a 4-peat championship (the first 3 was consecutive) in the intercollegiate choral competition in the history of UST...Science was used to be our mortal enemy ...they were also good.
Best pieces UST-PGC performed: SANCTUS, GOANI, TINIG NG LUPA, ILAY GANDANGAN

We're so thankful Joel Navarro was our consultant. Tingnan mo ngayon, one of our members is the current trainer of the Ateneno Glee Club- si J. Pamintuan...a UST med tech grad.
3 of our members were also UST Singers- the batch that toured Europe and US and won the "Choir of the World".

Congrats again! :)

Si Kuya Martin ninyo ay nasa Virginia...he's a Registered Pharmacist there and pursuing his Pharm.D. program. We're still in contact with each other as well as the rest of the UST-PGC members here in the US.
It's nice to hear from a PGC member again. Tanungin mo si Kuya Paul (Dr. Francia) ninyo or si Miss Becky David kung sino ang mga taga-Chicago na member ng UST-PGC..alam nila kung sino ako :)

The last Silver Anniversary of UST PGC was in 1990 at the UST Medicine Auditorium. I MISSED Room 213....unofficially the UST Main Building's factory of golden voices.

actually.....kinakatakutan na naman ngayon sa UST ang PGC.....a sign of a healthy competition, marami na rin tayong ka-rival na Choir....that means umuunlad ng tuluyan ang awareness ng tao about choral music....and not just galing...as in magagaling....pero PGC still stands out.

Kuya Matin visited us last Jan., and i never got a chance to meet him...kahit *** ibang bago....nagsulat lang siya sa logbook!

Anywayz........Just keep in touch...and tutal...alam ko na naman na may ka PGC na ako dito sa Pex eh we could easily communicate...

Ako taga AB! I took up Journalism. As far as I know, AB people in UST are great thinkers with a passion for beauty. They love the arts, that's why they excel in creative writing, theater, etc.

Sayang wala na si Dean Dimalanta. I don't know what will happen to literatue and journalism majors.

Dominated talaga ng performers ng UST yung court during the opening. Marami nagsasabi bakit puro tungkol sa UST - "tiger" theme and nagyari. I think there's no rule about the choice of presentation not unless it's immoral..he he...

sabi nung isang taga-UST, insecure lang talaga sung nagsabi dahil everytime pinapakita ang UST brand, nag-react sila. Well.. what do u think?

Allow me to introduce myself...undergrad status ako ngayon but not going to school anymore..only need the revalida to graduate.Faculty of medicine and surgery po. :)

Sayang, you missed it. Actually, the point of the presentation is not just to present beautiful numbers but display of talents. In the presentation, UST didn't hire any singer or dancer or the like to perform (except for the services of MR RENE HOFILENA, the over-all choreographer, who happens to be a former choreographer of the Salinggawi). Display of talents:

singing - Coro Tomasino; the two students who performed duet; elemntary students who sang the Jubilee song (they were all LIVE!)

dancing - the most unquestionable & immeasurable talents of the Salinggawi Dance Troupe (walang taga labas doon); high school students

playing of musical instruments - who else but the UST Synphony Band (even Jazz band was there I think). They played "Eye of the Tiger" (which I also find prolonged), "O Fortuna" from Carmina Burana - live! ;
The bangers also performed during the Finale.

..and this might be the reason why the presentation was pro-UST- talents were 100% Thomasians :)

Siempre parang sa Olympics, kung sino ang host ipi-feature 'yung mga bagay-bagay sa bansang nagho-host, 'yung tipong sa opening eh culture-based 'yung presentation. Halimbawa Sydney ang host, eh magpapakita ba naman sila ng mga pagoda structures o kaya naman magsasayaw ba naman sila ng salsa?
