diamonds... how to know if it's real

how do you know if the diamond is real? kase i want to buy this cute pendant. it's just fancy. kaso i was thinking na muka naman akong trying hard kase may kaunting brilyantitos na design. just by looking at it, how can you determine if its real or not?:rolleyes:

You can always ask. If by any chance there isn't any warranty nor certificate of authenticity, even if the diamond is real, then it's tagged as illegitimate. To know more about these precious stones, check at www.gia.org for more regarding stone grades.

Bring a diamond tester with you. It would easily detect if a diamond is fake, or if it's only a moissanite or a zirconia.

by just looking, i can separate my diamonds from my fancies by checking the clarity. yung mga fake ko parang maputi ang kinang, unlike ng tunay na parang clear. yung iba naman mukang pwit ng baso (w/c of course is fake).

i'm no diamond expert but i've heard zirconias are hard to spot. a lot of people think they are real diamonds.

:D I will give you a sure thing..finding out if that diamond he's giving you is real or the one you are buying is tunay...alright all you have to do is go to any hospital with a radiology department..bring your diamond with you and ask the guys that you know who work there to take a picture or radiograph the jewels(diamond).

The image of the diamond are not supposed to show their images in the still picture, that is flawless diamond!!, its real..sa madaling salita yung crown lamang ang makikita yung humahawak sa bato.. at ang diamond ay invisible at hindi lalabas sa radiographic film ... Ngayon kung makikita mo na may traces o korte duon it could be a zircon a man-made diamond (not pure) , pero kung kitang-kita naman ang image ng bato sa film tiyak ito ay baso o pekeng diamond.

ngayon sa perlas naman! kung makikita mong buong-buo sa radiograph ang image ng perlas ..ito ay tunay na nanggaling sa karagatan at duon kinuha o sinisid..Ngayon naman kapag may guhit na bilog at ang gitna ay walang nakikitang image na perlas sa gitna tiyak ito ay cultured pearl..kaya kung may mga magreregalo at ang daddy o siblings mo ay radiologist o technicians ask them to do you a favor to x-ray the diamond for you for authenticity..hehehe..sori guys duon sa mabubuko at sa mga nagtitinda ng pekeng diamonds..Huli na kayo!!!this is the wonder of science..

pag kinuskos mo ang dalawang pearls tapos makinis/smooth, FAKE yun. pag kinuskos mo naman ang dalawang pearls tapos maligasgas, GENUINE yun.

hmmm ... eto naman sabi sa akin ng alahera na friend ko: pag tinamaan ng light ang tunay na diamond, it flashes white fire. yun russian or yun hindi tunay, maraming kulay.
