Calling all Sydney siders...The Annual Filipino Fiesta will hit town once again. It's this coming Monday (Oct 7) at Bankstown Paceway. The tix cost $12 at the door or $10 pre-sell.. I got tix so if you guys need em, you know who to PM or text :) ... Sa mga first timers sa Fiesta, gathering lang ito ng mga Pinoy maraming mga stalls na bilihan ng mga pagkain, may mga variety shows sa grand stand by local acts and Pinoy entertainers (ang walang ka kupas kupas na Lourna Pal, Monching, Lotlot at Jackielou Blanco babalik na naman daw :rolleyes: :rolleyes: ) So kung miss nyo na ang pinoy food, dito kayo pumunta. My husband and I want to get our NSW driver's license. I've called the RTA na, and I pretty much have an idea of the procedure... we just can't get around "proving the issuance date" of our existing license. Kasi dapat daw at least 3 years na kaming may license, and if it's not indicated on the license card itself, kailangan daw may Affidavit, or some kind of letter from the Issuing Authority, that I've indeed had my license for three years. Pano yun? Sa LTO ko ba kukunin yon? Sa Phil. embassy? Pls. enlighten me.

Also, what are the odds of me passing the Driver's Test without going through the Learner's classes? I've only practiced driving around Sydney for a few days, and I'll be mostly relying on my Manila driving skills (a.k.a. barumbado skills!!!) that I hope to refine by studying the Driver's Knowledge Handbook and maybe practicing on the weekends. Kaya ba? Ang daya talaga o, my husband doesn't need to take the practical test since he holds a US license!

My friend had a similar case to yours. He had to obtain some form of receipt at LTO backdated to 2000 ata (fixed), then he presented that with his Phils license to RTA then he took a Provisional license test. When he passed it, full license kaagad sya.

I had the same problem when I applied for my license. Kesyo I need to get a letter pa daw from LTO to prove the first issuance date of my Philippine license. Actually, yung 2 digits ng license number ng Philippine license mo is the year of the first issuance. I explained that to the lady in RTA, then tinanong nya yung kasama nya who probably had previously proceessed a philippine license. Then, ayun, yung nakapasa ako sa actual driving unrestricted agad yung license ko.

You may need to practice a bit more with a driving instructor. Kasi ang dami nating bad habit sa pinas na dapat "i-unlearn." Remember, how we only rely on our side mirrors pag liliko at mag cha-change ng lane. Dito dapat lilingon pa over the shoulders. Ang tutuo nyan, I failed on my first driving test. Kasi naman, nanghiram lang ako ng kotse sa pinsan, practice ng konti in the morning then punta agad sa RTA nung hapon. On my second attempt nag practice muna ako with an instructor for 2 sessions and pinalad naman na makapasa.

When u acquire the letter from the LTO, take your driving test sa Merrylands RTA para full license ka kaagad, sa ibang branches daw P2 lang daw i i-ssue sa yo.

Maiba lang ako ng konti, yung kain namin sa Sariling Atin eh hindi talaga masarap, para ngang pagkatapos namin kumain dun gusto na namin tawagin yung restaurant na 'Sarili Nyo Na Lang'...Hehehe

taga-saan ka ba DJQuimby? dont tell me sa US ka pa. grabe. i had been to eastern creek raceway kasi malapit kami doon. malapit din kami sa kirspy kreme sa huntingwood, blacktown and 5-7 minutes walk lang ang sariling atin sa amin. in fairness naman sa sariling atin kahit di masarap ang luto, dinudumog pa rin ng tao. i think sya lang ang nakatagal. marami ng nagsulputang karaoke bar (filipino) pero di nakatagal. bihira din akong pumunta doon. kung gusto mong makakita ng mg cutie gurls pinay punta ka kapag saturday night.

and I just want to share my good faith with all of youse.. well, i have a temp job now. for 6 weeks. i am so blessed. I thank my mum for her prayers. yes, I pray. God is still there for me. I have been job hunting for two weeks now and then suddenly Sonia, my consultant rang me about the job that I am interested in. I will start next week, Wednesday. The company still need to get a pass for me. Well, I am relaxed.. imagine I just signed my application form last wednesday and Sonia told me that she will get in touch with me by Monday. Initially, I applied for Data Entry since I dont have much experience in the work force and then amongst 15 candidates vying for the position she called me first but not on the job that I applied in. I got to do admin work, which is much better---> I think..They will teach me stuff from payroll to customer service. Sonia said they might extend it, depends on the work load. I hope so. my dad, said to do less subjects right now. He is such a help. He encouraged me. Ayy, buhay. my younger brother is looking for one as well. he is taking a 6-month break from school.

I am thinking of buying "Seven Spiritual Laws of Success", but i am just waiting for someone to get it for me. LOL.. ngek, talaga, cos it sucks, I am obliged to buy books because I am the conscientuous and book-addict person at home.. oops, my brother disagree. My brothers lamented that my room looks like a mini-library. My books are everywhere. Some of them are birthday presents. I ask bday presents for my friends and I tell them what I want. I think, it is a bad habit of mine, but I can't resist specially if I really want something. My bestfriend bought this book for me "Five people you meet in Heaven". I havent read it yet but I will soon. And my friend bought this Birthdays book cos I am into astrology.

tonight, I will go to my marketing lecture (Ayy, sayang---> I cannot go with you..better luck next time for me). and then afterwards, my friends and I are planning to watch a movie at my place. We will watch Gone with the Wind (My favourite movie of all time). And then tomorrow, my mum's friends are coming over to my mums place in Kellyville. Actually kagabi dumaan sa bahay ko yung kaklase ko sa Post Grad na Pinoy, nagyaya bumili ng tsibog sa Pizza Hut, eh sabi ko daanan nalang namin, eh ang pinakamalapit na outlet eh yung sa may Stanmore along Parramatta Road. So punta kami, langhiya napansin namin na yung Annandale Hotel which is a stone's throw away from Pizza Hut ang daming tao tapos may pila sa labas, eh syempre uzi kami so nakipila kami, yun pala may concert dun, so ang nangyari hindi na kami bumili na Pizza at nauwi kaming manood @ uminom kagabi...Biglaan.

$20.00 ang entrance, ok yung banda, Punk Rock ang repertoire at ang kakaiba eh may Violinist silang kasama...Super cool. Ang pangalang nung banda eh Yellow Card...Ang galing...Hehehe

Nung nadining ko yung pangalang nun banada una kong naisip na baka may Hepa sila...Bwahahaha

I am a Christian but I go to a catholic church. May mga kaibigan kami nina DaBugs sa Victory Church (mayruon silang church sa may Fort yata) - karamihan Pinoy though may mga puti naman. Iyong service dati sa city pero alam ko nalipat na yata sa bandang west. If you want, I can introduce you to them para maka-attend ka ng service.

Hillsong? Narinig ko na iyon sa housemate ko though hindi ko alam kung saan sila nag-seservice.

i've been with St George since i came here & i reckon they're alright. they have this 'multi-access' card where it can also serve as a Visa card. And if need to get a loan or sumthin, its quite easy. They charge silly bank fees but at least its more tolerable than fukkin Westfuk :lol:

Initial deposit is 2K tapos bahala ka na kung uubusin mo yung balance mo. Ungapla, duon sa interest depende sa balance mo. Anything more than 2K will definitely attract a higher interest :)
